Thank you etrailer, I’ve been looking for this bumper receiver for my 38’ Keystone toy hauler for a bike rack. Ordered and four days later it’s here. Installed in 10mins, fits perfectly. I used a flat washer and nylok nuts instead of nuts supplied. Well built and sturdy.

Comments
Great product, we used it all summer on our travels without any problems.

Just installed this unit on my travel trailer bumper and it appears to be fairly heavy duty and secure. Did have some trouble getting it on the bumper but used my truck tire jack for leverage & it popped right on (see photo). The receiver is just what I need for my bike rack & 2 bikes that I will be hauling to Florida next month. Safety first & this unit looks well made & will hold to the challenges of the road.

Comments
After a year & 2 trips to Florida is perfect! No need to tighten the bolts due to vibration & wear & tear from a 45 lb bike rack & 40 lbs of bikes. I am extremely pleased with this receiver!

Hitch mount was as info described. Needed to mount a heavy 4 bike rack on my RV. Arrived on time and fit perfectly. etrailer videos were very helpful in selecting the right hitch for my weight requirements. You took the time to make them to support the products, you earned my business because of it.

Torqued to spec. and works as expected. We hang a bike rack off of it on the back of a travel trailer. Solid design. Reason not a 5: There was a slight alignment issue getting the bolts through both sides due to the stampings not being aligned when welded. Once I got the bolts through, no issue, but there was interference with the threads on the stamping; had to turn the bolts through as they would not slip through. Still would recommend.

Awesome product. I did have one problem with it but it was on my end. The bumper on my Keystone Summerland Series Mini was a little to close to the body so I had to flip the mount over to make the bolts work. Shipping was fast!!!! 4 days including the day I ordered. Would have been 3 but something happened with UPS. I will definitely be buying more products from etrailer Corporation.

Still holding up great a year later. It easily allows me to carry my cargo receiver which has my generator and a couple five gallon gas cans on the back.

I have a 21.5' Trail-Lite RV that had a plastic bumper. I wanted to put a Bike Rack on the back of the RV, so I bought some 3/16" 4" x 4" square stock and had a welder weld it on the back of the RV. This is a lot heaver duty than a stock bumper. Once the bumper was installed, I bought this Curt bumper hitch, part E-100, from etrailer.com. Installation was a breeze, and only took a few minutes. I used some grease and a small hydraulic jack to encourage the hitch to slide on. You DO NOT need to drill out the holes as some have reported. A 4 pound sledge will encourage the back hitch hole to pop above the 4" bumper. Use some never seize on the threads so it will come apart some day. Here is the finished product, with my e-bike installed. Shipping was quick and FREE! (I ordered over $100 of stuff)

I use this for a bike rack with 2 mountain bikes. The unit fit and works perfectly EXCEPT my 4 inch tube bumper (Coachmen) torqued a bit too much due to the leverage of the bike rack and weight. I had a welder build a bolt on plate that connects it to my frame via the factory installed Trailer Hitch Receiver. Works great now!

Product is great. Works perfect. My RV bumper is low and the product drags each time I go through a low area. Chewing up the bottom of the product.

Used the bolt on hitch to support my bike carrier vs. the Keystone carrier on my 2018 Cougar 5th wheel. This saved me about 50lbs. and the Keystone rack is made of soft metal so it would wear the mounting holes and cause the reck to droop. I am also looking to get a kayak carrier and the hitch will work with this also,

The Curt 2” RV E-100 Hitch was received quickly and in good condition complete with all parts. The hitch is heavier than I expected but this is a good thing. I installed this on my used 35' Sabre 5th wheel to replace the OEM rear cargo carrier which did not suit my needs. The installation was easy and as expected. The Sabre bumper has a chrome plate trim piece attached by 2 small screws on either end that covers the top and face of the original black boxed bumper. I knew I had to trim out a piece the width of the bumper plate for the hitch to slide over for mounting and this was done with no surprises. The hitch does fit a four inch RV bumper but remember if ordering that the opened end of the hitch slot plates are flared out at the top for “clamping” action and narrows where the plates are 4 inches wide at the receiver end and there is no “give” there by design. So they may “fit” at the top but will only mount so far down if the bumper is wider than 4". Because of the low height of the Sabre bumper above the road surface, I mounted the hitch with the receiver “up” for more road clearance. I mounted a Rola 3 bike rack into the hitch but had only 2 bikes mounted. The hitch was excellent and I have no advice or comments for the hitch other than if you need a heavy duty add on hitch, buy this one. I did experience problems with the bike rack itself. It has a “Drop Down” feature to lower the bikes for easier removal. Due to the pivot design there's lots of play with the vertical neck of the rack and I needed to brace it better to reduce this play. At the end of a 35 foot RV the whipping action is very pronounced so be advised when using a bike rack that hinges near the hitch. I would highly recommend the E-100 and based on previous orders placed with E-Trailer I would highly recommend them also when ordering any trailer related item.

Comments
It is still doing the job. Thank you for the follow up. If a customer does contact etrailer about the hitch, please be sure to stress the longer the unit the hitch fits on, the more chance of bottoming out because most RV trailers rear bumpers sit fairly low to the ground. Prior to buying the hitch I made sure I had adequate clearance but its still close at times.

Ask the Experts about this Curt RV and Camper Hitch

  • Will the Curt RV Bumper 2" Trailer Hitch Receiver E-100 Work To Pull a Trailer
The Curt RV Bumper 2" Trailer Hitch Receiver part # E-100 which is a fit for a standard 4" x 4" rear bumpers will allow you to tow a trailer up to 3,500 lbs. However, that is what the hitch is rated for and the bumper could be rated for less (must confirm with manufacturer). If so, you could install supports, the Mount-n-Lock SafetyStruts Standard RV Bumper Support Brackets part # MO22FR or installs a frame mount hitch, the Adjustable Width Trailer Hitch Receiver for RVs part # 13703.

What that means is the only option that might work is a universal, adjustable-fit hitch such as the Adjustable Width Trailer Hitch Receiver for RVs, 22" to 72" wide # 13703 or the Multi-Fit Motorhome Trailer Hitch, 24" - 46" wide # 5350 or 47" - 71" wide # 82201.
