Does exactly what it's supposed to. 918367

- Y36FR

service was outstanding, like the bike rack. makes transporting the bikes much easier. my only comment would be that the ramp and needs to be wider for mountain bike style tires 910411

Great bike rack, easy to assemble and very solid for two very heavy bikes. Do be careful with the folding pin retainer - it promptly broke off, but easy fix. 907307

- Y36FR

Waiting to actually take our Ebikes on our first trip. Received my Yakama ramp the other day and like the way the bikes feel mounted to the car. After a long wait for delivery the rack was delivered and looked great the way it was packaged. Other than the very first step in the instructions showing an error in hole alignment for attaching the rack to the tongue, things were easy to follow. It took quite a bit of time to adjust everything on the rack to fit my particular bikes but now that we are set it looks and feels good. The weight of the rack is a bit more than I anticipated but it feels solid. 906891

- Y36FR

Was needing a bike rack to hold our ebikes with some pretty fat tires. The ramp makes getting those heavy beast up on the rack a breeze. The tilting feature allows for the tailgate to be opened without removing the rack and it folds up nicely when the bikes are off. Super sturdy and the anti rattle pin holds it securely in place. Also, etrailer made ordering easy and delivered days before it was expected. 906682

- Y36FR

So far so good. I installed the rack on my newly installed e-trailer hitch with ease and took it for a test ride with my two standard bikes attached- no problems. The real test will be when our e-bikes finally arrive. 906669

Very good quality. Arrived fast when sh ipped. 905820

Ask the Experts about this Yakima Hitch Bike Racks

  • Can Yakima OnRamp E-Bike Rack Tilt Forward for Rear Hatch Access
Yes the Yakima OnRamp part # Y36FR does tilt down to help with rear cargo area access like you can see in the attached picture you mentioned. The only functional difference between this rack and the # Y96FR is the hitch it is designed to fit like you noticed. # Y96FR fits 1-1/4 inch hitch and # Y36FR fits 2 inch hitch. This rack somehow was able to combine all of the features people want from e-bike racks while also remaining lightweight at 39 lbs which is a big feat. Most likely the...

  • Recommended Bike Carrier For Two Electric Bikes That Uses A Ramp For Loading
I may have an option for you but I am not aware of any bike racks that lower to the ground for loading. The best option for you would be the Yakima OnRamp Bike Rack for 2 Electric Bikes # Y36FR if your vehicle has a 2" hitch receiver, or # Y96FR if your vehicle has a 1 1/4" hitch receiver. Both of these bike racks include a ramp to roll the bikes up instead of having to pick up each bike to put it on the bike rack and the ramp stores conveniently on the bike rack when not in use. The...

  • Weight Capacity for Yakima OnRamp Platform Rack for Fifth Wheel Campers
With hitch accessories weight capacities are decreased on RV's and campers because the suspension is more rough and has more chance of being bounced around. With the rear bumper on a camper or RV being further from the rear axle, it exaggerates the bouncing your bikes and bike rack are going to endure. Another good option to look at is part # LGA34FR. You are offered a 75 per bike weight capacity for this rack.

  • Does the Yakima OnRamp Bike Rack Have A 2" Hitch Option
Yes the Yakima OnRamp Bike Rack for 2 Electric Bikes that is made for 2" hitches is going to be Part # Y36FR. It has all the same features as the 1-1/4" hitch version. It will work great with bikes that have fenders. The mounting point is adjustable and mounts to the frame from a central mast so there is not any contact with the top of the wheel where your fenders are. You will also use the straps on the wheel trays/cradles to secure down each wheel. Such a cool feature to use the ramp...

  • Are Both Wheel Trays of Yakima OnRamp Bike Rack Adjustable
Yes, both the front and the rear wheel trays can be adjusted on the Yakima OnRamp Bike Rack # Y36FR. There are two knobs on the underside of the rack that you will loosen that will allow you to adjust either tray, and the directions also specify that all of the trays and even the wheel straps can be adjusted to best accommodate your bikes.

  • E-Bike Rack That Can Clear Rear Spare of Jeep Wrangler
We have e-bike racks that can fit and clear the rear spare of your Jeep Wrangler when folded down like the Yakima OnRamp # Y36FR or the Hollywood Racks RV Rider part # HR1670 but most likely you wouldn't have clearance to fold them up as we've not found an e-bike rack that can fold on a Wrangler and clear the spare.

  • Bike Rack Recommendation for Two 60 lb E-Bikes
The bike rack I highly recommend for a pair of 60 lb e-bikes is the Yakima OnRamp E-Bike Platform Rack # Y36FR. The reasons I really like the OnRamp is because of its value; compared to other e-bike racks that have a ramp the OnRamp is more economical but still very high-quality. The OnRamp is rated for 66 lbs per bike and holds the bikes with wheel straps on both wheels as well as an adjustable cradle to keep it securely on the rack. The cradles are adjustable so they can grasp...

  • E-Bike Rack Recommendation for Gazelle E-Bike Rack for SUV Hitch 2018 BMW X5
E-bikes are challenging in a few ways for bike racks in ways like you mentioned. The frames are unusual shapes, they are heavy, and they have fenders. This means you need a bike rack that uses unique frame clamps and that have higher weight capacities like the two racks you mentioned. The Thule EasyFold XT part # TH903202 and the Yakima OnRamp part # Y36FR. Most frame mounted platform bike racks use a single hook that you lower onto the top tube of the bike frame whereas these racks have...

  • How To Transport A 60lb E-Bike On A 2013 Ford Edge
I do have a solution for you, however, the Thule Passage 2 # TH910XT has a weight capacity of 35lbs per bike, so this will not be able to safely carry your E-bike. There is currently no trunk mounted bike carrier that is capable of transporting your 60lb E-bike. For your 2013 Ford Edge I recommend the hitch-mounted Inno Tire Hold 1 Bike Rack # INH110. This has a weight capacity of 60lbs. Since the weight of your e bike would be close to or over the weight capacity of the rack, you...

Thank you for your feedback! I've got a solution for you. While we offer quite a few hitch racks that are compatible with your e-bikes, it sounds like a ramp is pretty important to you, which narrows the field a bit. While I don't have the complete specs of your trailer hitch, it's likely that you have a Class III hitch installed on your 2019 Ford Escape with a 2" receiver, with a tongue weight capacity of at least 300 lbs. • Recommended Bike Rack with Ramp for E-Bike with Fenders
I do have an option but wheel mount bike racks cannot be used on bikes that have fenders even if they are short fenders which only extend over the tires a few inches. Therefore, you'll have to use a frame mount bike rack and if you're looking for one with ramps, I recommend the Yakima OnRamp Bike Rack part # Y36FR with Fat Tire Straps for Yakima OnRamp Bike Rack part # Y23FR. The step-though frame won't be an issue for this rack and neither will the weight.

  • Recommended E-Bike Rack for a Roadtrek 210 RV with Rear Spare Tire
The Yakima OnRamp Bike Rack for 2 Electric Bikes part # Y36FR is a strong contender for the best electric bike rack with a per bike weight capacity of 66 lbs, included ramp for easy loading, and locks for security. In regards to clearing the rear spare tire. That's where things will get tricky as I'm afraid there isn't a rack that will carry these heavy bikes and clear the tire. Good news! My friend AJ's video is finally up and you can see him review the Yakima OnRamp #Y36FR in the video I attached below. I love your description of a road narwhal. If you're worried about the extra length behind your vehicle with a folded bike rack, I recommend the new Yakima OnRamp # Y96FR. • Thule Easyfold XT vs. Yakima OnRamp Bike Rack for E-Bikes
This is a good question, as a lot of people want to know the real differences between the Thule EasyFold XT # TH903202 (which fits both a 1-1/4" & 2" hitch) and Yakima OnRamp # Y96FR (fits 1-1/4" hitch) & # Y36FR (fits 2" hitch). While there are a number of obvious similarities in that they both have ramps and use clamps to grasp your bikes, for overall convenience the better rack is the EasyFold XT # TH903202. If you fold down the arm and take your bikes off, there is enough clearance to access and open the hatch of your Rav4. This rack is amazing for rugged, heavy duty riding. • Are Fat Tire Straps Needed for 3.3 Inch Tires on Yakima OnRamp Bike Rack
Even though your tires are just slightly larger at 3.3 inches than the 3.25" the OnRamp is designed to work with, I do recommend adding the Fat Tire Straps for Yakima OnRamp Bike Rack # Y23FR. The issue is that tires that wide could mean there isn't enough room for the straps to fully latch, so even though you may be able to get them to work with the standard straps, it is a good idea to get the straps just to know for sure your bike is safe and secure.
