I am so excited to begin using this. Through the help of Etrailer.com, they were able to find me a bike rack and hitch that fit my Rogue. The employees were understanding of my budget and assured me that getting a hitch was a much safer bet. In a matter of a few hours I had fully installed a hitch and bike rack. What I love about this so far is that when I went to the store I was able to remove the pin and it gave me enough of an angle so that I could completely open my trunk without having to remove the entire product off the hitch. My only issue is that the instruction manual does not give you the tool size you need to tighten it to the hitch. Trial and error we found that a 7/8ths is what it needed. 546716

Good, sturdy rack. Extremely fast delivery. Just installed and put four bikes on. Drove about 7 miles around the neighborhood hitting every bump and hole I could find. The rack swayed a little to each side with sharp turns but all stayed well secured. I'll probably put a shimmey on the inside the reciever to reduce the sway a little and tie wheels together etc... to make it more secure. I think it will suit might needs just fine. 570137

Assembled and used the hitch over memorial day weekend. Attached to 2008 Dodge Ram 2500, carried 2 adult bikes, 2 children's bikes. PROS: - Sturdy - Heavy duty - Well made CONS: - Reflector on the end arrived broken - Weight. This thing is very heavy by itself. - Allen wrench included is useless; too small to be used to tighten the screws due to location - Tilt mechanism didn't tilt low enough to get my tailgate down; I removed the stop bolt to enable this. - When tilting down, the bikes obviously like to shift around, and depending on how they are mounted, this could (and did) result in some less than favorable 'handlebar-in-spokes' conditions. - Also when tilting down, it is pretty much a two-person job when bikes are loaded due to weight. One person supports the rack and the other pulls/inserts the pin. - Some slack is built into the hitch piece, the pivot pin, and the lock pin, so the bikes shake around side to side some. 1 layer of gorilla tape around the hitch removed some, but 2 layers was too much. - The pin that is included to lock the rack into your hitch is very strange. Its at least an inch longer than it needs to be for a 2" receiver, and for some reason its threaded for about 2" close to the non-pin end. The rest of the bolt is thinner as well. - Children's bikes may or may not be able to fit on here on the top rail of the frame. One of the bikes I had, I had to attach it to the bottom rail instead, since I couldn't get the frame around the mounting blocks. It still seemed to ride ok, its just a little worry-some. Overall summary: - This is a fine hitch, and most of the time it will be on the back of my fifth wheel trailer, so I won't need the tilt mechanism. If you are purchasing this mainly due to the tilt, I would look elsewhere, since it's pretty painful to use, even if your tailgate clears it. 198188

Another easy to install product that fit very well into the purchased receiver. Once installed and loaded with bikes, we drove approximately 400 miles before unloading the bikes and tucking the unit away. Reinstallation was quick adn efficient as was loading the bikes for the return trip. Well spent money. 219137

We repeated our trip from a year go and the bike rack still works very well. We did experience some spacing issues with a fat tire bike, but learned that if we removed the pedals and altered the positions of the bikes when loading, everything fit well. Very good investment and now when we take the bikes on vacation, it is saved money as the cost of renting bikes has been eliminated and in the second year, the money saved has exceeded the amount invested in this rack and the receiver.

Great value great rack. I will have to drill another hole for it it to work with J pin below. The rack has a screw already welded into it so the locking J-Pin wont work. Review the Tow Ready J-Pin Stabilization Pin and Barrel Lockset for 2" Trailer Hitches - 63201 696826

Very solid, ruggedly built receiver hitch rack. Spacing is good for four bikes. Design is best for road bikes or hardtail mountiain bikes with traditional diamond frame geometry. That's what I have, so it works well. May not be suitable for newer hardtail mountain bikes with more extreme frame geometry (can carry but bike will be nose down). Same for mixte frame (girls bikes, but they will be nose up). May or may not be a good fit for curved tube cruisers - depends on the design. Probably not suitable for full suspension bikes or bikes with radical departures from diamond frame design. But if you have a diamond frame bike with a traditional top tube, this rack is just what you need, and one of the most solid and easy to use racks you can get - just as good as the major brands at less than 1/3 of their price. Easy to install - insert in receiver then tighten the bolt with a wrench to secure the rack. Pivots down to allow tailgate to open on a van or SUV. May not fit on an SUV with tailgate mounted spare tire. A very good quality rack for traditional bikes. Couldn't be happier. 453864

I'm from Canada, and strong well made products like this tend to be hard to find, and quite expensive. I bought this bike rack, and the to carry it. Both are extremely well made and were an excellent price. I would definitely recommend these products. Note that someone who is quite petit may find this bike rack a bit heavy to move around and mount into the hitch. 554382

I still love the rack... I read some reviews that were critical of the bikes moving and the rack wobbling in the receiver.. I think they are kinda silly... Its a great bike rack for the price..!!

The Pro Series 4 bike rack was an excellent choice for my needs. Sturdy construction, features that bike racks costing 4 times as much have and ease of assembly (under 15 minutes) made it a good buy. We will use it occasionally when we want to go riding with grandkids so it has to hold 2 adult and 2 kids bikes. I might need to buy an adapter bar once I see how the kids bikes rest on the cradle. I attached the rack to the car hitch and it felt very sturdy with minimal looseness. The tilt feature is great since it was installed on an Audi Q7. Deliver was quick(3 days) and phone service by Cathy was informative. Pictures and reviews were helpful for determining what bike rack would work better for our needs. For $119 I am very satisfied. 158973

I used the rack numerous times this summer. It is easy to install and remove. Pretty heavy construction and good locking mechanism. Did not need to buy the adapter bar as bikes fit fine without it but with some maneuvering of bikes. Still satisfied with this purchase.

still going. safety attachment for the tilt release pin didnt last long but not a problem. mounts and dismounts easily, hook and loop straps still work well. maybe side mounted reflectors/labels would be nice as it protrudes quite a bit and is somewhat unobtrusive when no bikes are mounted on it. still a happy customer.

Had some doubts since it was lot less expensive than the Thule Parkway that I've used in the past. But I was pleasantly surprised. The construction is solid. The design is simple and effective. Biggest difference being the single support vs. double bar of the Thule. Used it this weekend on a long road trip transporting a mt bike. Solid! Key is to balance the bike on the rails. The bolting hitch pin work great. Zero rattle. The support bar does not tilt like some of the ones out there but not a big deal for me. The whole rack does and is actually a far better design than the Thule.....much stronger. Can't go wrong with this one. Or etrailer for that matter. 63984

Well made bike rack. Took a trip to Florida from Missouri and it held my bike and bike trailer very well. I like that it has anti-rattle pin that comes with it. Had to purchase a separate lock for it but that is fairly And reasonably priced - so no big deal. Specialty pin that holds the rack in upright position has a wire holder (so You dont loose the pin). So this wire holder snaped off after couple of short trips as it wasnt welded strongly enough, but I was able to re-attach it with home made ring/loop and a self taping screw. Overall good product and highly recommend it. 302279

Arrived quickly. Assembled in a few minutes. I've used it 3 or 4 times and it is easy to load and secure the bikes. The velcro straps are better than rubber. 137750

Just a follow-up note concerning the bike rack: it is the easiest, most efficient bike rack that I have seen - simple, inexpensive, and faster loading than any of those of my friends. They envy this one.

Just finished putting together and mounting my new bike rack on the back of my Highlander. It took less than 30 minutes to assemble and mount on vehicle. I then placed my bike on the rack and took a brief drive with it . The only thing I noticed is that you may want to use a bunge cord to hold the front wheel in place to keep it from swinging when driving. I may also consider looking for a small padlock to replace the hitch pin clip for security purposes. The tilting feature, for ease of access in to vehicle cargo area is also a plus. While I have not used it yet for a 'road trip', I feel very satisfied with the quality, function and price of the bike carrier. 347119

Comments
I use the bike rack on our Toyota Highlander and have been pleased with it. At first I thought a 4 bike rack was more than I needed, but now am glad I bought it instead of a two bike unit. A couple of nuisance items, not a big deal: The threaded locking pin that holds the unit on the trailer hitch, slides in from the left. For a left handed person, it is less convenient than I would have preferred. I was also curious about it being metric instead of standard, again not a big deal. Also - the hole it slides in to is recessed making it difficult to tighten up with anything other than a socket with an extension. Thinking ahead, it is not much of a problem, but I have to be sure i have a metric socket plus extension with me when it comes time to remove. Having said this, there may be a security reason for this design.

Good bike rack; especially for the price. The anti-rattle bolt mates with a nut that is welded inside the rack. On mine, the nut's threads were fouled, so initial install required excessive torque. But the bolt cut its way through, and is now successfully installed. Note: The nut for this anti-rattle mechanism prevents using a locking hitch pin. Note: You will see significantly decreased range with any rack installed unless you're driving very slowly. Even after considering these points, I would still recommend this product. And I would purchase the same one if I knew these things ahead of time. 5/5 stars 718629

You can't beat this bike rack for the price. Build quality is better than friends Yakima bike rack that was three times the cost. Reese products are great to begin with. Something else to consider...this rack has the longest horizontal reach receiver, 8.5" from pin hole to vertical upright, meaning I was able to leave our camp box on the RV bumper. The thread in hitch pin keeps it nice and tight too. This is also rated for RV use. Winner winner chicken dinner. 699659

We have been using this rack for almost three months now. It is sturdy and easy to get the bikes off and on. We have only used it for two mountain bikes (one mens and one womens - we have not needed anything extra for the womens one). Although this is a great product and is a great price and we use it A LOT we are disappointed that we did not realize that is does not tilt down if you want to leave it on your vehicle without bikes. (This was our mistake by not paying better attention when we purchased it). It does stick out very far and I have hit my head on it several times. It is a bit heavy for me to put it on the car alone (my husband has to do it). Again, this is a great product BUT if you want to leave it on without bikes get one that tilts down when not in use, I would trade this one in a heart beat for one that does if I could. 43269

The value is excelent. As other reviews have indicated it is a bit heavy but it is very sturdy. the other racks we have had were lighter but the bikes scraped into each other a took the finish off. The racks were for a Rave 4 the back door doesn't open all the way but there is enough room for access. I don't usually do these types of evaluations, actually this is the first, but I felt that the customer service, product, price, assembly, and the quickness of delivery were cause to write this. 210878

  • Are Extra Supports Needed for the Reese Eclipse When Used with Womens/Kids Bikes
Yes, the Reese Eclipse 4 Bike Rack part # 63124 should work just fine with your two adult and two kids bikes. However, because of the alternative frame on the womens bike, you will also most likely need to use the Swagman Deluxe Bike Frame Adapter Bar part # 64005. I have attached a photo of the adapter bar in use. In regards to the kids bike with training wheels, I don't see any issue as to why this would be a problem for the Reese Eclipse 4 Bike Rack so long as the horizontal top...

You would likely need to use bike adapter...

  • Will a Reese Eclipse 4 Bike Rack # 63124 Fit on 2007 Ford Edge and Hold Mens and Womens Bikes
The Reese Eclipse 4 Bike Rack, # 63124, will work with your 2007 Ford Edge as long as you have a trailer hitch with a 2 inch receiver opening installed on your vehicle. We have installed this bike rack on a 2011 and a 2012 Ford Edge which are the same generation as your 2007 model. I have attached a demonstration video on the 2011 Ford Edge for you to check out. The single arm of this bike rack was designed to work with many different styles and sizes of bikes, however if your womens...

  • Trike Bike Rack Recommendation for 2018 Winnebago Fuse Class B Motorhome
Assuming your 2018 Winnebago Fuse is equipped a 2 inch hitch receiver, I recommend the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE2 # HR1450Z along with the trike adapter # HRTRK-ADP-3. This motorhome approved rack (with the adapter) can accommodate 1 standard bike and 1 delta, tadpole, or adult trike, or 2 standard recumbent bicycles with a track width of up to 36 inches, so in that regard it will work well with your trike with a 25-1/2 track width. You'll also need to take into consideration...

  • Parts Needed to Install the Reese Eclipse Bike Rack on a 2006 Honda Pilot
You will not need any additional parts to install the Reese Eclipse 4 Bike Rack, # 63124, on your 2006 Honda Pilot. I have attached an installation video we made on a 2007 Honda Pilot for you to check out. You will see that this bike is an excellent fit for your vehicle and offers plenty of clearance for the rear hatch. The only additional parts that you may want to pick up are the hitch lock, # 5200, a cable lock like part # e98891, and a bike adapter bar, # 64005. The bike adapter...

  • Using Reese 63124 Eclipse Bike Rack with Hitch Extender on 2007 Toyota Rav4
Using an extension will lower the tongue weight capacity (maximum amount of downward force that can be applied to the hitch) by half. This means that if your hitch has a 350 lb tongue weight capacity, using the extender will cut that to 175 lbs, which means that the rack plus the bikes placed on it can't weigh more than 175 lbs. The best practice would be to choose a bike rack that has a shank long enough to clear the spare tire. I've linked you to a help article that shows how to measure...

  • How Can I Secure the Bikes to Reese Eclipse Bike Hitch Mounted Folding Rack 63124
To lock the bikes to the Reese Eclipse Bike Hitch Mounted Folding Rack, # 63124, you can use a Cable Lock, # e98891, to secure the bikes to the rack. To secure the rack to the hitch, you will need to run the cable through the chain attachment loops in your trailer hitch.

  • Comparison Between Pro Series Translite and Reese Eclipse # 63124 Bike Racks
Both racks are pretty similar in many respects, with similar weights and capacities. Both racks will tilt away from the vehicle to allow access to the trunk or hatch of the vehicle once the bikes are removed. Both racks use hook and loop fasteners to secure the bikes to the rack. Each rack also comes with an anti-rattle arrangement to tightly hold the rack in the receiver, thus reducing movement of the rack. The Pro Series Translite uses two arms to suspend the bikes, while the Reese...

  • Trailer Hitch Lock for Reese Eclipse 4 Bike Rack for 2 Hitches # 63124
Hitch lock # e98882 would not fit properly with bike rack # 63124. The bike rack has a weldnut in the shank that will accept its own threaded hitch bolt. A regular hitch lock has not been tested or confirmed to fit in this bike rack. What you can do is use just the lock part of lock # 5200 and it will fit on the threaded bolt for the bike rack.

  • Lock Recommendations for a Reese Bike Rack 63124
For a locking hitch pin to use with the Reese Bike Rack part # 63124 that you referenced the # 5200 would fit and work well. The best way to secure the top portion of the rack and your bikes would be to use a cable lock like part # e98891. I attached a review video for this lock as well.

  • Recommended Hitch Mounted Hanging Bike Rack for Kids and Adult Bikes
The Reese Eclipse 4 Bike Rack for 2" Hitches - Tilting # 63124 will allow you to put your bike and 3 kids bikes on it. The stabilizing trays will hold the bikes at a slight angle as you referenced, but with kids bikes it isn't as big a deal for ground clearances and level transport. If as they grow you want to level the bikes for safer transport, I recommend using the Swagman Deluxe Bike Frame Adapter Bar for Women's, Children's, and Alternative Frame Bikes # 64005. This creates a top...

  • Using Curt Multipurpose Ball Mount # D210 to Tow a Pop Up Camper and Trailer Hitch Mount Bike Rack
I went out to the warehouse to take some measurements on the Reese Eclipse Bike Hitch Mounted Folding Rack, # 63124. The distance from the center of the hitch pin hole out to the very end of the rack is 33 inches. To compare, you can measure from the center of the coupler back to the camper. If it is longer than 33 inches, there will be enough clearance. I also measured from the center of the hitch pin hole to the top of the bike rack at the last bike position and it is 38 inches tall....

  • Trailer Hitch Mount Bike Rack that Will Clear the Spare Tire on a 2003 Jeep Liberty
On the trailer hitches that we installed on 2003 Jeep Liberty models the distance from the center of the hitch pin hole back to clear the spare tire measured from 10 inches up to 15 inches. You will need a bike rack that can clear that distance to fit with the spare tire in place. Reese Eclipse bike rack # 63124 measures 8 inches from the center of the hitch pin hole to the back of the upright mast so it would not work. The Thule Hitching Post Pro # TH934XTR measures 13-1/2 inches...

  • Recommended RV-Approved Hitch Bike Rack for Use on Back of 5th Wheel Trailer
Hitch-mount bike racks for use in the 2-inch hitch on your 5th wheel are available in both hanging and platform styles, 2-, 3- and 4-bike capacities and in tilting, folding and fixed types. You can click on the included link to see all options and the filters on the page allow you to narrow the results based on your preferences for bike capacity, etc. For the least potential for motion while travelling I suggest a fixed hanging-style rack like the Swagman Original 4, part # S64400.
