The Sport Rider platform-style hitch bike rack makes it simple to carry 2 bicycles on the rear of your vehicle. This versatile rack is easy to use, and it features locking frame hooks and adjustable wheel hoops so you can quickly load and unload your bikes. The included adapter sleeve enables the rack to fit both 1-1/4" and 2" hitch receivers. An anti-rattle system tightens the rack's shank to your hitch receiver to prevent it from rattling around inside the tube.
Locking, Ratcheting Hooks
The Sport Rider uses locking frame hooks to secure your bikes. These ratcheting, cushioned hooks easily adjust along the vertical mast and lock securely in place. The release buttons allow each hook to slide up the ratcheting arm for bike removal. The hooks function independently, which means you can position them to carry bikes of different heights.
Adjustable Wheel Hoops
The wheel hoops accommodate bicycles with wheelbases up to 60" by sliding along the horizontal arms. They secure in place with easy-to-use hand knobs, and the Velcro-like hook-and-loop straps fasten the wheels to the hoops.
If you want to carry a fat bike on the Sport Rider, you can replace the rack's wheel hoops with specifically-designed fat bike hoops (sold separately).
Folding, Tilting Design
The rack tilts, with or without bikes loaded, for easy access to your vehicle's rear cargo area. Simply remove the pin from the base and tilt the platform down.
The rack also folds up against the back of your vehicle when it's not in use. To raise the rack, just lower the mast flat against the tray and then lift the rack up toward the back of the vehicle.
Easy Installation with Locking Hitch Pin
The rack easily installs in the hitch with the locking hitch pin. Just slide the shank into your receiver, insert the hitch pin, and attach the lock pod. The locking pin works as an anti-wobble device to eliminate sway and rattle in the receiver.
A removable adapter sleeve is included so the rack can be converted for use with 1-1/4" hitch receivers. The sleeve attaches to the shank with a single screw and can be installed or removed quickly.
Complete Security for Bikes and Rack
The Sport Rider comes with locks for both the rack and your bikes to deter theft. The lock cores in the frame hooks hold the bike down on the rack and prevent them from moving. Also, the lock pod attaches to the hitch pin to secure the rack to your vehicle. These locks are conveniently keyed alike.
Add-On Adapters
If you want to use the rack to transport a kid's bike with 16" or 18" wheels, wheel hoop adapters (sold separately) are available.
If you want to transport one recumbent delta trike or one recumbent tadpole-style trike with the Sport Rider, you can use the HRTRK-ADP adapter (sold separately).

Anti-rattle, locking hitch pin reduces wobble and sway.After a lot of research and some expert advice from etrailer I chose the Hollywood Rack Sport Rider Bike Rack for two bikes. We are using it for two e bikes and switch the rack between a 38’ Fleetwood RV which has a 2” receiver and a Fiat 500 Pop with a 1 1/4 “ receiver. We cover the long distances in the RV and switch down to the Fiat to transport bikes to local trails once we are in camp. Perfect for our needs. As always etrailer was most helpful with answering questions and providing advice.
This bike rack works fine. It solidly supports two bikes with no abrasions or other damage to the bikes. It is very stable on the back of the car and does not sway in corners or over bumbs in the road. It is relatively easy to mount on the car. Bikes go on easy although I do have to lift the forward bike fairly high to clear verticle bar. Occasionally I struggle a little bit releasing and sliding one of the lock downs that go over the frame of the bike. Overall, I have been very happy with it and it is a big improvement over my last bike rack where the bike frame was the only supported area.
SMW - 10/21/2021Love the sleek look and design of this rack. It is truly easy to use. However, the rack tends to move tremendously while driving..so much so that it makes me question whether my bike is secure on the rack. I wish there was a way to fix this issue. And sometimes I wish I would have went with a more sturdy rack.
Sierra K - 05/19/2022Easy to assemble. Used today for first time. Easy adjustment for fitting bikes. Bikes stayed in locked position with no movement.
This rack basically does the job I need it to, but it isn't perfect. The ratcheting mechanism on the center mast is not always eager to slide up when I press the button. The end caps through which the wheel straps thread are very loose, so I'm always a little worried they will fall out. Those nylon wheel straps pull on their plastic buckle at a weird angle that makes me wonder how strong the assembly is. These minor issues aside, I have no problems with the rack. For the price in comparison to some of the competition, it is a good rack.
So far my purchase and assembly of my bike rack has been uneventful. After placing the order, I was notified that it may be several weeks before it will be available to ship. I was offered the opportunity to rethink my purchase and order a different rack. After reviewing the suggested substitution, I responded that I would be comfortable waiting for my original purchase to ship. Approximately a week later, I was notified that my rack is now shipping ahead of schedule. It arrived when promised. I was securely packed and was delivered with no visible signs of wear and tear on the packaging. When I opened it, I was pleased to see that all the pieces were packed well with Styrofoam and additional boxes to keep the parts intact and not scratched. I was very pleased with this; we all have received boxes that showed wear and tear when they were delivered and found the pieces in a jammed bundle in the box. Great to see that etrailer believes in great packaging. Assembly took about an hour. The instructions were good but not perfect. I haven't used the rack yet. Here in Wisconsin, the weather is not very inviting to pack up my bike and go riding on one of the great trails we have available. I'm confident that the rack will work well. If not, I will be back to let you know. Since I haven't physically used it yet, I won't be able to give it a five-star review. Again, I don't know why it wouldn't get one from what I've seen and heard on the website. Let's go biking!
I would have given this bike rack a 5 star except for two issues. 1. the instructions to put it together are hard to understand but keep in mind I do not following them anyway but it was simple to put together 2. When it tips away from the vehicle with the bikes on the inside the pickup the end gate will hit the bike peddles, a fix for that is to extend the main tube from the receiver hitch accordingly. I did not try it on a SUV with the hatch. I think that would work fine. I also like the way it folds up when there is no bikes on it so it is out of the way (see picture) It is a well made bike rack and I would definitely recommend it
GREAT bike rack. Very easy to use (even for a novice) and very sturdy/stable. It works well for my e-bike (which is why I chose it), and my road bike.
Installed the HR1000 and the Drawtite hitch. Was very easy. The photos and videos on etrailer website were great, being able to refer to them for any questions during the assembly. The rack works great and we are able to open the hatchback on the rear of the prius without even having to tilt the rack and bikes back. VERY pleased.
Pros: Great rack for our two bikes! Fits nicely into the class 1 trailer hitch on my wife's Nissan Altima. Easy to use and holds bikes securely even on highway and gravel country roads. Locking bike arms and locking hitch bolt are a nice feature to deter theft. Would buy again! Cons: Locking bike arms work well overall but require just the right touch to make them go up when you want to take your bike off. Hitch bolt is longer than it needs to be, but not too difficult to use.

Had a Hollywood bike rack previously for about eight years which I liked very much, but damaged it in a small accident. As I put this one together it even seems much stronger than the previous one and I'm anxious to try it out.
As advertised. Easy to assemble. Bikes fit well. Only concern is how stable will it be on rough roads, which are everywhere.
Decent rack and good value. Good service from eTrailer. I've had the rack for about a month and generally it has worked well for me. I was able to get it installed fairly easily and the range of positions and ability to use it with my bike that has fenders were pluses for me. Bikes have remained securely in place while driving. Critiques that led to my giving it a 4 was that I have found it a little fiddly when changing between the different positions, particularly when trying to tilt the rack away to open the rear hatch with two bikes mounted. Also, I would have liked some type of welded loop to attach the optional cable lock, which I also purchased. The hitch lock has worked well.
We received the bike rack faster than we expected. I had good service with questions by telephone and placed my order online. The directions to put the bike rack together we're fairly easy. The bike rack does have some wobble in the hitch mount so my husband used a shim and now it doesn't wobble at all. Our hitch is a 2 inch hitch. It is very easy to load the two bikes. We use a couple of Velcro strip tie downs as additional security attaching the bike frame to the center stand post. We purchased the Locking hitch pin and the Locking cable HRLHPTC that go with the Hollywood Rack Sport Rider 2. It comes with four keys keyed-alike. We are very happy with our purchase.
Pros: Easy to install. Easy to load and unload bike. Although trunk does not open completely on a 2009 Mazda 6 while bikes are loaded on the rack, the tilt feature on the rack enables you to open the trunk completely while the bikes are loaded. Areas for improvement: The directions were not easy to follow. Could be made simpler with more pictures and less words. Other comments: While the rack is loaded there is quite a bit of bouncing around while driving. Not sure if this was intentional in order to provide flexibility or what. It does not feel unsafe but it is noticeable. If it is unsafe I feel confident etrailer will reach out to me. Happy with purchase.
Rack came well packed and in perfect condition. The instructions are clear. Fits snuggly in 1.25" class one hitch with no wobble. The instruction say to have hooks secure frame at lowest point. I have two crank forward bikes with step through frames. The hooks won't go low enough to secure them at the desired point, so they touch where the frame is on an angle with a swim noodle for extra height and padding. Without the hooks attached and the upright bar lowered, my bikes are very easy to load. I really like that the rack and bikes can be locked and are keyed alike.

Love the rack. It requires no ropes, bungees or towels to keep the bikes from rubbing together. Easy to load and unload. The bikes are secure over bumpy roads
Great Bike rack for the price. Once customized for your bikes no need to adjust again. It has simplified our bike outings. I highly recommend this bike rack.
The first time I used it, the foam of the top racheting bars has ripped and the short 5 mile trip caused the paint on the top bar to be scratched thru to the metal. Very disappointing. I may try to duct tape the foam back together. But to be safe, you should put some cloth or material where the top locking hook and the bike make contact. It's a hassle, and I'm annoyed by the damage to my bike, so I rate this as 3 star, since it did seem sturdy.
The product is well made and can accommodate the longer wheel base of my day 6 bike.
