Go Tankless or Go Home

Tankless Water Heater

Say goodbye to quick, military-style showers, refilling your tank, and waiting for the hot water to recover. This revolutionary design replaces your outdated tank heater and gives you the luxury of taking back-to-back showers, washing dishes, and running a load of laundry all at once. Unlike traditional tank heaters that require constant energy to keep your water hot, this tankless, propane-fueled water heater only uses energy when you turn on your faucet or shower, providing the ultimate efficiency at a campground or off-the-grid. The endless, on-demand hot water has no recovery time and is perfect if you're on the road full-time or traveling with a large group.

Relaxing Showers without Scalding or Freezing

Vortex Pic

Has your warm and relaxing shower ever been interrupted by a cruel burst of ice-cold water? Perhaps you've been the victim of a scorching surge of hot water that scalds you and sends you dancing out of harm's way. Either way, it's the worst, but those days are over. Furrion's vortex technology is designed to eliminate those dreaded hot and cold water fluctuations by consistently mixing hot and cold water together to reach your desired temperature, ensuring those warm, comfortable showers.

Safety First

This state-of-the-art technology is equipped with built-in safety measures to ensure you, your family, and your RV stay out of harm's way.

Its dual temperature sensors automatically shut off power if the water temperature exceeds 149 F, preventing the unit from overheating while also reducing the risk of hot water scalding. The unit also has a flame monitoring feature that cuts off the gas supply if the flame goes out to prevent gas from leaking inside your RV and a built-in safety valve that allows pressure to vent at 87 psi to prevent excess pressure and heat build-up.

Anti-Freeze Control Board

This tankless water heater features a control board to keep itself warm when temperatures drop. Freezing water can damage the unit, so an internal thermostat monitors water temperature and will turn the heat on automatically when it gets too cold. This feature will only work if the water heater is receiving power and gas. You will need to remember to winterize the water heater before storage over the winter.

by:

As several people have mentioned - Mine arrived with casing damage even though the box was pristine. Be prepared to do some body work before installing. That's the ONLY reason I didn't give 5 stars.

Other than that I have absolutely zero complaints and we should have installed one of these years ago. I had a 12 gallon tank water heater that got a pin hole in it somewhere so we decided to upgrade. The existing cutout was bigger so I had to use some 2x2 boards to reduce the frame size. Everything went together smooth and, after purging the water and gas, we had hot water within 10 seconds.

Simple operation and hasn't given any issues after the first 10 showers. Time will tell on the reliability, but things look promising.

Even though it is working, it should not have sustained damage. I will have our Customer Service team reach out to you.

I've only had this installed a few hours and all I can say is wow. Took a full 25 minute shower and it was fantastic. The folks from etrailer were great. I called with some questions and Will was great, he answered all my questions accurately and friendly. The free 2 day shipping was also great since my 2 year old Suburban water heater has started leaking. Everything about this transaction was awesome. I did have to frame in the opening to fit the tankless since it's a bit smaller without a tank. Some of the reviews say the water doesn't get hot enough, if your flow is to much then it will take a bit to get to temp. I have an adjustable pressure regulator and had to back it off to 50 psi. Plus, you don't need to crank your hot water all the way up, with these water heaters less is more. Turn your hot up enough to stream then regulate your pressure with the cold side. It's just a little different than a conventional water heater. Best money I've spent on my 5th wheel. Thank you etrailer.

by:

The staff at etrailer are fantastic! They answered all my questions quickly. The whole order processing went smoothly and shipping fast. The installation of the new water heater went better than expected. I'm very pleased!!

by:

We bought this water heater to go in our 32 ft pull behind camper we use it all of duck season for the 22 23 season and it worked perfect I would highly recommend this product to anyone wanting to get rid of the tank style water heater and third grade to tankless water heater takes up less space and worked as it should we had no problems with it so far

by:

Great product. Hot water anytime you want it. Uses much less propane then tank model. Great purchase...

by:

Thanks for the follow up. The WH has been working fine other than my wife using tank water that was low and the bypass must have gotten trash in it. I purged the system and cleared it.

by:

Great product, easy to install & looks great it replaced a 10 gal. Water heater. My wife loves the endless hot water.

by:

It works, no complaints. Hot water in 15sec. I would give it 5 stars if I got hot water in 5 seconds as I hate wasting water.

by:

The unit was easy to install and fit well in the original water heater space. The outside door fit nicely and the whole installation looks great. The hot water is never ending now and the system works well.

by:

It was a very good fit, out with the old in with the new. I have a 2001 Automate 5th wheel. It is in very good shape but it was time to change the water heater.

by:

Great unit, should have done this a little earlier. Never run out of hot water again, thermostat is great addition, set temperature from inside. On demand only takes a few seconds to get hot water.

by:

this is the perfect water heater for our camper

by:

Great item! Easy to install and works like a charm

by:

It is nice to take real bath. Plenty of hot water

by:

Outstanding water heater, it was a bit smaller so I had to take some 2x4s and 3/4 plywood to fill the gaps. Just to be clear on the installation I ran new wires to the battery with a fuse to be sure it it would have a full 12 volts. By getting this water heater we gained a 15 amp circuit, that I we will use for a dedicated plug for our pellet smoker. Sure is great to have hot water after a week with out.

by:

Not sure if it could have been any easier! Did a little research and I installed two 12” flex hoses to the existing Pex hard plastic. I also extended the power and control wires where I could connect everything outside and complexly function test the unit outside. Beats crawling in the underbelly and fighting the tight workspace. Certainly would recommend this product!

by:

Order came well packaged and quickly! Easily replaced my 12 gal suburban heater. I just installed yesterday, so I don't have much use on it yet but it has performed very well for our first couple of showers. We loved not rushing/ worrying about running out of water. Heats our 2.5 gpm showerhead to 110ish on oregon well water(50-55°)!

by:

Once I finally got it installed it works perfectly. It's not a direct replacement for a suburban 12 gallon hot water heater. It takes a lot of modification to the hole that the old one came out of for this one to fit correctly and cover up the old hole.

by:

Will not work. Customer service is a robo service. Now we have no hot water! WTH?????

I am sorry to hear that this is giving you so much trouble. We recommend that you have a tech come take a look. They would be able to tell if it is a manufacturer defect or if something was wiring incorrectly.

by:

Super fast delivery. Install took about 6 hours. Be prepared to frame in existing hole location as the new tankless WH is much smaller than the old 12 gallon electric/gas one. Thankfully, the new 18”x18” access door/panel covered everything. It would probably be a good idea to put a piece of sheet metal with lots of silicone caulking over the hole leaving a cutout for the new heater to slip right in, this will provide a nice water tight seal. The Furrion FR68SR seems to work as promised, we’ll see after some usage.

by:

I love this water heater but I wish it would get hotter than it does

by:

Customer service was great! I appreciate the care Carol gave me when I called about shipping. I was on a deadline and paid for expedited shipping. Carol made sure the order was shipped on time and I actually got the item a day before I expected it!
Thank you all that were involved!

by:

I had a 10 gal heater previously...just installed this unit by an RV tech...disappointed in the performance of the Furrion 2.4 tankless

by:

Having just installed this for a neighbor we haven’t had much time to test it. It was installed with out any problems as I had finished installing a botched installation for another neighbor. I fired off the first time we tried y( at least once I turned the propane back on). Delivery was quick and was shipped the same day as ordered. UPS was one day later than first estimated but was still okay as being ordered on Saturday and arriving on Thursday in Nevada.

by:

This product works great. Its easy to install.I went camping with it for the first time, set the temperature I liked and never had a problem. It works just like on video. If you're looking to replace your old heater? It's worth checking this tankless out.

  • Best Replacement for Suburban SW12DE RV Water Heater
The Furrion RV Tankless Water Heater part # FR68SR is what I recommend using to replace a Suburban SW12DE RV Water Heater. The Furrion is tankless which means you'll have an endless supply of hot water as opposed to the 12 gallon capacity of the Suburban. The 18" x 18" door means there will be no gaps in the exterior of the trailer making for a clean install.
