Video Transcript for The Low-Down on the Valterra Bladex Waste Valve Body for RV Black Water Tank

Today we're going to be taking a look at the Valterra Bladex Waste Valve. This valve is a 3" Bladex valove. It's going to allow you to replace, repair, or upgrade to a new dependable valve. It's going to feature a plastic handle here on top. This is very strong and very durable. It's going to feature a stainless steel shaft that's corrosion resistant.

It's got the threaded handle that makes it easy for replacement if you ever need to do that. Now, Bladex valves are interchangeable with most other brands. It's going to come with the actual valve. It's going to come with the appropriate seals and the hardware that's needed to get it installed. The seals are made from santoprene 00:00:36 construction that's design to resist chemicals and corrosion. When you're ready to install it, you need to remove your old valve and seals and then place the new seals over the lip of the existing flanged fittings.

Insert the new valve, being careful not to dislodge the seals and then tighten everything in place for your full installation with the included nuts and bolts. It's a really easy operation. It's got a nice lever design to it, T-handled grip, just nice fluid consistent motion allows you to easily open and close the valve. Few measurements to go over with you real quick. The overall length with the unit in the closed position, we're looking at about 9 1/2". With it fully open, we're looking at about 12 3/4".

The width of the unit down here at this portion, that's going to give us a measurement of about 4 3/8". The thickness, it's going to measure about 13/16" thick. Then the mount holes, there's going to be four mount holes on the unit, one here on each corner. Those are going to be separated on center by 3 3/4" and that's going to be the same distance between each hole. That's going to do it for today's look at the Valterra Bladex 3" Waste Valve.

  • Determining The Correct Replacement Waste Valves For A 2004 Airstream Safari LS Travel Trailer
If you're just looking to replace only the valves and nothing else then you'll just need the Valterra Bladex Waste Valve Body # T1003VP for your black tank and the Valterra Bladex Waste Valve Body # T1001VP for your gray tank. These valves just get bolted to a flange or double waste valve setup with four bolts. If you can send in a picture of what all you'd like replaced I can help you find the parts you need.

  • Is Camco Waste Valve Handle Threaded?
Yes, the Camco RV Wastewater Tank Replacement Valve # CAM39513 is threaded. Another option is the Valterra Bladex Waste Valve # T1003VP, which like the Camco is a manual single waste valve with a 3" diameter.

  • Replacement Waste Valves For A 2014 Winnebago Journey
Hi Greg, Without seeing the setup it's a bit hard to say exactly what is going to be the correct fit for your motorhome. If you want to take a few pictures at different angles so I can see how your system is ran I'd be happy to help find the correct fit. Are you just needing to replace the gate valves # T1003VP or does the whole assembly need to be replaced? The # T84 has hubs on each side to slip over 3" straight pipe and comes with lugs and a bayonet cap, making it complete. The #...

  • Replacement Waste Valves for 2019 Keystone Raptor 355TS
We don't have a way of knowing what your exact setup is, but I'm guessing you have waste valves with a long cable on your 2019 Keystone Raptor 355TS. The # VAL22RB and # VAL54MB you were looking at will work as a replacement if you want a 120" cable. The cable can be cut down to whatever size you need and will allow you to place the handle wherever you want. If you're fine with short handles at the valves you can use the # T1001VP and # T1003VP as well.

  • Replacement 1-1/2" and 3" Valterra Bladex RV Waste Valves With Threaded Shafts
Yes, if you were to remove the hub and spigot from the Valterra Bladex Waste Valve # T40NH you would be left with a Valterra Bladex Waste Valve Body # T1003DSPB with the threaded shaft rather than a drilled shaft. A better option may be to use the Valterra Bladex Waste Valve Body # T1003VP and just remove the handle that is threaded on. That will take care of the 3" valve you are needing. We have the 1-1/2" valve with the spigot and hub # T1001NH or like the other option I recommended...

  • Are Valterra And LaSalle Bristol RV Waste Gate Valves Interchangeable
In my experience Valterra has been MUCH easier to get in contact with and get parts from than LaSalle Bristol. Dometic is the parent company for Valterra and typically has pretty good customer service every time I've called them. It's a bit of a wait on the phone usually, but LaSalle Bristol typically doesn't get back to me unless I email them. That being said both companies model their gate valves (Valterra # T1003VP) (LaSalle Bristol # 34439240) to fit standard dimensions, so they are...

  • Recommended Replacement Waste Gate Valves For A 2015 Airstream Flying Cloud Travel Trailer
If you're only trying to replace the gate valve and not wanting to cut any pipes then you can just unbolt the gate valves fro their mounting flanges by removing the four bolts holding them in place. You can then pull the pipes back slightly to pop the gate valve out and swap in the new one and bolt it back in place using the same bolts. You can use part # T1001VP for the gray tank and part # T1003VP for the black tank. I've attached a video below of a double waste valve I replaced where...

  • Availability of Valve Similar to Valterra Waste Valve Body # T1003PBC With T Handle
Sounds like instead you would want the part # T1003VP which is a similar valve as the # T1003PBC except it comes with the T handle. The part is ABS plastic, so you could use an ABS sealant or glue. The glue is not included though. Part number # A05-0303 will seal plastic parts and would work well for you.

  • Why Does The Valterra Bladex Waste Valve Have Gaps Between The Blade And Body
Looking more closely at the product pictures we have for the Valterra Bladex Waste Valve # T1003VP you can see the gaps in those pictures as well. It's a fairly common question with this design, but the rubber gaskets are designed to prevent leaking from the connection points of the waste valve to the flange as well as cover the gaps you're seeing when the gasket isn't in place.

If you can send me a photo of your waste valve setup then I may have an option for you but I don't know what you have now. If you cannot find an entire assembly then you might be interested in just replacing the valve as almost all assemblies use the same configuration, part # T1003VP for 3" or part # T1001VP for 1-1/2". • Compatibility of Camco RV Waste Valve With Valterra RV Hubs
Yes, the Camco RV Wastewater Tank Replacement Valve # CAM39513 will have the same bolt pattern as the Valterra RV Sewer Slip Hub # T1005 that you are connecting to. I would still recommend using a Valterra Bladex Waste Valve # T1003VP as it does not have the channels on the side and will sit flush with the mounting hubs. I don't like the grooves as they are a place that can hold water and dirt. This could lead to unwanted damage from freezing or corrosion.

  • Can A Single Gate Valve Be Replaced Or Does The Whole Assembly Have To Be Replaced
Each gate valve is held in place by four bolts that you can just unscrew and then swap the gate valve out with a new one like Valterra's Bladex # T1003VP and bolt back in place. If your gray gate valve ever needs to be replaced you can use part # T1001VPM. This method means no cutting and gluing in extra fittings for just a simple valve replacement. I've attached a video where I show you exactly how to do this.

  • Replacement Valterra Waste Valve 601607-11 For Airstream Trailer
The Valterra Bladex Waste Valve Body for RV Black Water Tank part # T1003VP will replace the valve but the part that you have now has a 3" spigot hub on both sides. This valve would require some modifying to fit into the same place as your old valve because you would have a gap. Therefore I recommend Valterra Bladex Waste Valve for RV Black Water Tank part # T40 which is a 3" hub to 3" hub spigot like you need. That is the reason the Valterra Bladex Valve part # T1003VP is listed differently....

  • What's Difference Between Valterra and Valterra Bladex RV Waste Valve
The standard Valterra replacement valves like the part # T1003PBC are designed to attach to a remote handle that's further away while the Valterra Bladex like part # T1003VP the handle is right at the valve instead. Both valves are interchangeable with each other.

  • What Size Gate Valve Is Needed To Replace The Gray Tank Waste Valve
Yes, gray waste valves are 1-1/2". If you're replacing just the gate valves for your double waste valve then you can unbolt them and slip in the # T1003VP for the black and # T1001VP for the gray and then bolt them back in place. I've attached a video below where you can see how to do this. If you end up needing to replace the entire double waste valve then shoot me a few pictures from the other side so I can see the direction of the piping to find the correct replacement.
