The switch plate, wiring, seals, and hardware needed to install this electric waste valve on your RV's black water tank are included. The switch plate installs in the RV's control panel. The waste valve secures to existing pipes using ABS solvent cement (A05-0303 - sold separately). A booklet with step-by-step instructions and a template for drilling are also included.
You can also adapt the valve to work with your gray-water tank. A gray switch plate is included for that purpose. For this installation, you will need to use adapters (sold separately) to convert the valve opening from 3" to 1-1/2" in diameter.
If you're dry camping or in the case of a power failure, the manual override is easy to use. Simply remove the pin from the valve's lift arm and turn the handle 90 degrees clockwise. Then pull the handle to open the valve.

Wiring harness and 2 switch plates included.Nice valve for remote operation . The wiring is 4 ft from switch to motor/valve, and 3 ft of wire for power. I replaced power wire with a 10 ft piece which was only $9 bucks. Take pic of switch wiring cause you need to remove wires from switch to pass wires through any holes you drill in floor and cabinets, etc . Watch out for water , electric wires when drilling holes. Hole needs to be at least 1/2”for wire ends to pass through. If wood is thick I would do 5/8” hole . Pass big wire ends through first and smaller next. Or cut wire ends off and recrimip new ends after running wires.
After one year these valves have been flawless. I added one for black and one for grey tank on our Montana 5th wheel. So much better than the stiff cable valves it had from the factory that never completly closed.
I bought this item hoping it would fix the issues I had with the factory installed cable, NOPE. This part is no better than the cable system. The clip that hold the valve handle to the electric motor doesn’t clip on correctly, I even tried making it work with zip ties, it worked for maybe two weeks, now I just crawl under the RV and operate it manually. Don’t waste your money.

There was one little surprise, the instructions did not indicate which 12v wire was positive. There is a black and white wire. I assumed black was positive, it's not. So of course the valve opened when I connected the wires.
Dennis T - 06/29/2022Except for having to make some minor modifications to my flanges (they were bowed out between the bolt holes) so the actuators were clearing the flange, the install was easy. The flange issue is not the valve manufacturers fault, just how the flange was made. My old valves were cable style and cheap and these will be a great upgrade on Leaky crappy valves. I was tired of getting the sewer surprise every time I dumped. etrailer delivered on time and at a good value.
Every things was in the package , arrive at the time its was schedule .
The installation went very good and easy , to dot it your self if you are manuel its will work find.
I change a existing cable valve with this electric waste valve , the only bad situation was to work under the RV .

This was the 3rd valve I put on it. This one was working when I traded the RV in on a newer keystone Avalanche. Has manual waste tank pulls which I will keep.
This is such a great product,I don't know why it is not an option more often on a rv.I installed the control switch inside my rv near a window that looks out on the sewer connection.I have the clear 3" elbows on both hose ends of my sewer hose,and can observe from inside, the operation of emptying my black tank.Being able to do so during rainy or cold weather is such a great luxury.I have had this in operation for about a year now and it has performed flawlessly.I chose this brand over others due to the ability to manually operate valve in event of a power loss.Installation was very simple and instructions were very detailed.Will never have a rv without one now.

It made both the black and gray water work without a hitch. Just smooth full open to full closed. Well worth the money. Install them myself with the help of my son. They bolted right up no problem.
Mjh - 03/07/2021Instalation of the valve was easy on my 1999 Alpen lite St. Andrews. Removeable of the underbelly is simple Alpen lite provides two panels to be removed for easy access to manuel valves. The electrical assembly was straight forward having to add 10 inches of wire to reach my battery compartment. For us folks who are replacing our manual valves with electric it would be nice to have a water proof gang box to fit switch assembly. There are no gang boxes available that fit the switch panel without extensive modification to the gang box. Completed installation in 5 hours. The second valve will take about 2. lol Thanks etrailer for great parts at a great price.
I am more than satisfied with this product. We purchased a brand New Renegade Vienna MH, on a Mercedes Chassis. It is a very nice Motor Home, but the very tight spaces underneath the rear caused the (cable pull) Valves very hard to pull and would not close all the way. To our disappointment the manufacturer could not make them work to my satisfaction. A independent repair facility near us suggested the Valterra Electric valves. The manual valves that were on the MH already were Valterra, so the switch was extremely easy. BEST DECISION I've made in years. I 100% suggest this product
Nice valve, well built. Everything needed for the install is included. Valve opens and closes quickly. This valve replaced a leaking cable valve that was in a tight position requiring an excessive angle on the cable. Problem solved with this electric valve. I installed a 5" access port in the belly pan in case of failure. Will allow me to empty my tank without having to drop the belly pan.
My only complaint is that the switch plate will not fit a single or double gang electrical box. Had to make my own since there was no room to mount the switch plate on my panel.
it is so nice to not have to go outside in the winter months and have to crawl under my toy hauler to empty my blackwater tank. Got an electrician who installed the switch right in the bathroom for easy access. No problems at all! Now to get one for each tank for individual control!
This project works just as advertised. I am a Mobile RV service man and this is perfect for seniors who have trouble getting down to operate manual valves. I now have two other customers wanting these installed next spring.

Can't say enough about these valves. The were fantastically! I'd easily give 5 stars but the one small complaint I have it that I had to cut a clearance bump/blister into my RV corregated basement floor because I couldn't get them in a position where something didn't stick out. That was more an installation issue. Now that they're in we love em!
After a year of use the valves work just like new.
Installation was simple and there is enough wire
to put the switches wherever you want.
The switches could be marked a little clearer
for open or closed even though there is a led light.
Seems to be a quality product installed easily, haven't had a chance to use them other than installing the valves

Great product has been maintenance and trouble free. Easy to install good instructions and so much better to operate if you have the old type pull cable you know what I mean. I'm going to order 2 more one for the two gray tanks and will make a video of those install . I highly recomend this product . And sorry I didn't do pictures are video.
I bought 3 of these valves and installed them to replace my cable actuated valves. They were delivered in a timely manner and very well packaged. The time to install these was much faster than expected. They came with everything needed. Crystal was very helpful in the buying process. I will definitely buy from etrailer again.

Replaced black valve that had a kinked cable. A great product. Is working well. Installation was difficult in my case due to the original installation. I used two 3" rubber sleeves (Fernco) to join drain line that had to be parted in two places to free up space for the valve. Feel most owners would not have go to these lengths. Electrics were easy. Still glad I did this addition to my RV.
Sorry to say the hardest part of this job was gaining access to the underbelly of my 2012 Volatage 5ther. The installation of the valve itself is pretty simple and straight forward. Works great!! Will probably order the Gray Valve later, but that’s for another day.
