Video Transcript for LaSalle Bristol RV Sewer - Waste Valves - 34466N4AB Review

Speaker 1: Today we're taking a look at the Bristol Waste Valve for RV Black Water Tanks. This unit adds or replaces a valve for your RV's black water tank. It's made from a durable AVS plastic construction, features a three inch diameter passage which allows waste water to travel freely when the value is open. The valve easily opens and closes with the V handle, which is threaded on to a metal shaft, so you can see there how that opens and closes the valve, really nice smooth design, and this is a V handle which gives you a nice easy grip design, so it's got those curved edges on the side there. The unit does feature the appropriate seals to ensure leak proof performance. The three inch hub slides on to a sewer pipe, so the enter diameter here is about three and a half inches, and on this end we have the three inch spicket which slides into a sewer piper and that gives us an outer diameter of three and a half inches. ABS Solvent Cement is required for installation and it is sold separately.

You can find it at etrailer.com and this product is made in the USA. That's going to do it for today's look at the Bristol Waste Valve for RV Black Water Tanks.

  • Is There a Specific Length of Cable Needed For Spigot to Hub Black Water Valve
There actually isn't any way for us to know what length of cable you need when replacing the black water valve on your 2018 Montana Legacy 3130RE so you would need to either take some measurements or make an educated guess. The good news is there are plenty of options for length: - LaSalle Bristol Cable-Actuated RV Waste Valve for Black Water Tank - Spigot to Hub - 36" Cable # 34466N4AB36GM - 48" Cable # 34466N4AB48GMA - 72" Cable # 34466N4AB72GMA - 96" Cable # 34466N4AB96GMA - 120" Cable...

  • Can You Cut To Length The LaSalle Bristol Cable-Actuated RV Waste Valve
    The LaSalle Bristol Cable-Actuated RV Waste Valve, # 34466N4AB120GM is not designed to be trimmed. However, there are multiple lengths available: - 36" Cable # 34466N4AB36GM - 48" Cable # 34466N4AB48GMA - 72" Cable # 34466N4AB72GMA - 96" Cable # 34466N4AB96GMA - 120" Cable # 34466N4AB120GM Make sure you use LaSalle Bristol ABS Solvent Cement # 3447530889 to secure the connection.

  • Recommended Black Tank Waste Valve Replacement For Tight Areas
Since the placement of the blank waste valve handle makes it hard to operate I recommend switching out the valve with a cable actuated valve that will allow you to place the handle exactly where you need it. The LaSalle Bristol Cable-Actuated RV Waste Valve for Black Water Tank # 34466N4AB36GM comes with a 36" cable that will allow you to easily activate your valve without having to fight the tire. The valve can easily be removed from the fittings by removing the four bolts through it...

  • Availability of LaSalle Bristol Waste Valve with Near 9 Foot Long Cable
LaSalle Bristol makes a waste valve similar to the # 34466N4AB36GM which has a 120 inch long cable as part number # 34466N4AB120GM. 120 inches is 10 feet which is as close as we can get to the size you are looking for. The measurement is from the base of the valve to the end of the black outside tubing.

  • Is There a Replacement 48" Cable for LaSalle Bristol Waste Valve
I checked with LaSalle Bristol and they don't offer just the replacement cable. If the cable is broke you will need to replace the entire waste valve for which we offer part # 34466N4AB48GMA for black water or part # 34466N11AB48GMA for gray water. If you don't want to mess with fitting new pipes you can just un-bolt the valve from the flange and slide the new one in once the old is out.

  • Will Shorter Cable Length for RV Waste Valve Make Operation Smoother
The straighter and shorter you can make the dump cables they smoother they will operate to a certain extent. So if you can get away with the shorter 36 inch long cable version part # 34466N4AB36GM instead of the # 34466N11AB72GMA that you referenced this would work well.

  • Broken Cable on LaSalle Bristol Cable-Actuated RV Waste Valve for Black Water Tank
The plan you have sounds logical, I contacted the manufacturer to inquire about any additional information they may have that would assist in addressing the issue with your LaSalle Bristol Cable-Actuated RV Waste Valve for Black Water Tank, # 34466N4AB72GMA. They do have something to add, however, because of the limitations you have, obstructive access due to installation I am uncertain this will work. I will relay what they explained in case you can use. Please note the attached images....

  • How to Remove RV Sewer Pipes From Cable Actuated Waste Valve?
In order to install a new Cable Actuator RV Waste Valve # 34466N4AB96GMA, you're likely going to need to cut off the pipes at the spigot and hub in order to install the new waste valve. It's more than likely that ABS sealant was used to weld the pipes to the connections; you can try using concentrated heat (350 degrees Fahrenheit) or acetone, but it's unlikely that those are going to loosen the pipes enough to pull them out of the connections. During this process you may need to replace...

  • Replacing Valterra Valve with LaSalle Bristol Cable-Actuated RV Waste Valve
What I think you are asking is if you can replace within a current system, a valve assembly of one manufacturer with that of another. Yes, the fitment of valve assemblies is industry standard in dimensions. A Valterra 3" can be replaced with a LaSalle Bristol such as the # 34466N4AB72GMA. If you are asking about interchanging individual components within the assembly, we cannot guarantee fitment within that exchange.

In order to fix your loose cable on your LaSalle Bristol Cable-Actuated RV Waste Valve for Black Water Tank # 34466N4AB36GM, you will need to tighten the set screw that holds the cable to the valve stem. To do this. you're going to need to first loosen the set screw at the end of the cable housing (shown below). After this is done, you will then need to slide the valve actuator body off of the valve body itself to expose a yet another set screw. This will be located on the opposite end...

  • Are the Valves Inside the LaSalle Bristol Cable-Actuated RV Waste Valves All the Same
Yes, the actual valve is the same for all of the LaSalle Bristol Cable-Actuated RV Waste Valves whether they have a spigot to spigot connection like part # 34466N4BB96GM or spigot to hub connection part # 34466N4AB96GMA. That said, you need to pay attention to the actual valve size as there is options for both 1-1/2" (Gray Water) and 3" (Black Water). • Replacing the Blackwater Waste Valve and Cable on a 2018 Heartland RV Bighorn Fifth Wheel
If you're looking to replace your blackwater waste valve and cable, then I recommend going with an actuated cable valve. For these, LaSalle Bristol offers two options while Valterra offers none. Which of the two Bristols you choose will depend on your current setup. The first, part # 34466N4BB72GM, has a 72" cable and a spigot to spigot connection. • Troubleshooting a Stuck LaSalle Bristol Cable-Actuated RV Waste Valve for Black Water Tank
You can try removing the screw, but I don't believe that's the issue. It sounds like your cable might be broken or the actual valve has just locked up or "frozen". There is currently not a replacement cable available for the LaSalle Bristol Waste Valves. You may be able to spray it down with some lubricating grease or even a cooking spray like Pam to try to see if that might allow it to loosen itself up. If there are 4 screws holding the front hub onto the valve as you can see in the...

  • Black Tank Valve Is Stuck Open
Your black tank valve could be stuck for a couple of reasons. At the valve there could be an ice jam preventing the valve door from closing fully. There could be something else blocking the valve door. Let's say your grandson dropped some Hot Wheels into the toilet and now they are stuck at the valve. Another possibility is that the valve door or pull cable are stuck in some way. I would suggest forcing as much lubricant as possible into the cable and around the valve door to see if you...

Waste valves and cables are universal fits so while I don't know what came on your motorhome, I can still help you out! The standard waste valve size for the black tank is 3" and you'll be looking at either hub or spigot connections. A hub connection is the outer piece while the spigot is the inner piece.
