Your ride is going to need to be routinely waxed if you want to protect it from dirt and debris. The Griot's Garage Liquid Gloss Poly Wax is a multi-polymer liquid wax that will give your vehicle's paint job a layer of protection from debris and UV damage, even during long drives in direct sunlight. And it will keep your ride looking sharp with a glossy shine and a streak-free finish that will last up to 1 year.

Liquid Polymer Wax

This solution is comprised of a polymer wax compound that's meant to create a long-lasting barrier that will resist damage from stray particles and debris. The UV-resistant formula also keeps your paint safe from sun damage, so it's great for vehicles that are driven every day or parked outdoors. All you need is a single, thin coat for up to 1 year of protection.

Liquid wax spreads easier than a solid paste, and it leaves behind fewer solid chunks after the wax has cured. So you can easily apply the wax and wipe away any residue when you're finished. No spots, no chunks, no problem.

How to Use

To avoid trapping dirt and debris beneath the wax coating, use cleaning clay or a synthetic clay bar to remove any embedded contaminants. Then polish your vehicle.

To apply the Liquid Gloss Poly wax, spread a thin layer onto your vehicle either by hand with the included applicator pad or with an orbital. To avoid leaving streaks, let the wax cure for 10 to 30 minutes. Once it's completely set, use the included wax removal towel to clear the excess wax off, then buff your vehicle's surface. This will create a protective layer that's resistant to dirt and debris, while also giving your ride a glossy finish.

For extra protection and an even better shine, you can apply a second coat after the wax has cured for at least 12 hours.

Video Transcript for Griots Garage Liquid Gloss Poly Wax Application Kit Review

Hey guys, it's Jake with etrailer. Today we're going to be taking a look at and I'm going to show you how to use the Liquid Gloss Poly Wax Kit from Griot's Garage. Now you may be wondering why the reasons to wax, what's the difference between this Poly Wax and your standard traditional wax. And it's all going to be determined what you're using it for and what you're using it on. Your traditional waxes are going to be a little bit harder to work with. They're going to be a more paddy design rather than this more liquid design that you're just going to spray onto your applicator pad.

It's going to go on a lot easier, the process of waxing is going to be a lot faster. With your traditional waxes, you're going to have to do a lot of different reapplying. So you're going to have to dip your applicator pad in your solution a lot more times. Then what you do with the Poly Wax. The Poly Wax is going to coat it a lot more evenly than the traditional style. With that being said, this Poly Wax, you're probably going to use it faster than you would a can of traditional wax.

Traditional wax, you're not going to use a whole lot when you're pulling it out of the can. So just be aware of that, but this is going to be a lot more user-friendly and it's going to make the total wax time of waxing your vehicle a lot faster. And my favorite part about this kit is got to be the fact that you're going to get everything you need to get your vehicle waxed. Other than the clay bar, which is just recommended to get that dirt out of your paint before you put a coat of wax on. You don't have to do it, it's definitely going to give you a better shine.Your towel and your applicator pad are going to stay a lot cleaner because you're literally cleaning the surface before you're putting the wax on.

So, it may help your kit lasts a little longer. It is going to come with a four and a half inch applicator pad, which is nice because it does have a slight angle on either edge which is nice for. Just big enough to be able to apply it and that point that it is shaped in, helps to get into those tighter areas where you might have to use the point to be able to apply the wax. It's going to come with a perfect sized hand towel. A lot of times when you're waxing and cleaning your vehicle, the towel can actually be too big.

So, certain parts of the towel are getting wet or gunked up with other things. And what'll happen is if that towel is too big, it's going to slap a bunch of that material on the surface you've already cleaned. So by this being the perfect size of your hand, when you go to put it on your vehicle, your hand is going to cover almost the entire towel. So you see how the towel is nice and flat when I'm taking the wax off. That's what's going to help you to get that superior wax. With the bottle end of things, I like how Griot's designs these bottles because it's a simple pop top. You pull up the top and then the top opens, and you squirt it on your applicator pad and then you close it up so that you don't spill any anywhere. And you may be using this for your personal driving vehicle to get it nice and waxed for the year to come. It is also going to work on fiberglass and clear-coat services, so if you have a camper that you want to put a nice coat of wax on, you can do that. I would recommend not attempting to take on the process of waxing a RV by hand. I've done it before. It's a very long and painstaking process. I would go ahead and pick up an orbital buffer to be able to do it on your camper, but it will work with those surfaces. It's also going to work with chrome surfaces. So if you want to put an extra coating on your wheels to keep them nice and clean, to make them easier to clean if they get dirty or muddy or whatever. One other thing that this is going to help that a traditional wax may not help with, because of its poly design, it's also going to help to deflect debris that may be coming up off the road. So if you put a coating behind your wheels as well as the rest of your RV, on the front of your RV or on your vehicle, it's going to help to sort of ricochet those things off so they're not going to chip or scar your paint in any way. Now we're going to go ahead and show you how to use it first and then we'll talk a little bit more about it. To use it, you're going to want to. Here we have our area taped off, half and half on our rear door here just to be able to show you the before and after from our Poly Wax.Now anytime you're waxing your vehicle, you first want to make sure your vehicle is clean. Give it a wash, take it to the car wash, whatever. Then your next step is going to be clay barring the surface because you want to get any of those embedded contaminants out of your paint before you put that sealed wax over top of it. You don't want to seal any of those contaminants on the inside. This is also going to have help to strip off the old wax, some of it for that matter, to be able to put the new coat of wax on. You don't want to double wax coats, it makes a mess. Here at etrailer, We do have this clay bar Mitt, which the whole surface of it is going to be a clay bar rather than using the traditional clay bar, which is going to take about three fingers to be able to clay bar the whole surface. You want to use it with a detailing spray. Here we're using it with Griot's speed shine, so you just spray on a nice even layer.Take your clay bar Mitt and start wiping it down. You do not want to use this clay bar Mitt with a dry surface, so if your surface starts to dry a little bit on you, then you want to re-wet it. Make sure you have more than enough lubrication on the surface. You can feel when using the Mitt or when you're using the clay bar, it is going to get smoother and you'll have less resistance because you're taking those contaminants out of the paint. And with the backside of this Mitt, you can actually feel how smooth the paint is, and if there's any spots that you need to go over. A little rough right there, go ahead and hit that again. Just feel around, make sure you're getting everything out of the paint before we wax it. I will take a microfiber towel and dry off all that detailing spray we used so we have a nice clean surface to wax. We can already tell by just clay barring the surface, it is so much cleaner than when we just had our vehicle cleaned. Make sure your surface is nice and dry.Now we can take our Poly Wax. I'm going to make sure there's going to be a seal strip on the top of it. Just unscrew the cap, take that strip off and then give it a good shake. Make sure everything is mixed in correctly inside the bottom because it does settle over time. And then to open it, just pop this top, pull up, see this little hole open. I'll put a little bit on our applicator pad. And you want to apply it when you first put it on the pad, you want to spread it out because it's not all focused in one area, and then apply it in small swirly motions. Kind of work it into the paint. Make sure you're hitting all the spots don't miss any, you will be able to tell. Once you feel like you've distributed the wax enough, have some more. That's what I like about this bottle is it's just simple squirt bottle. It's easy to clean off that tip, set it back on your workstation and you can go back at it.You can use the light in your garage to be able to gauge where your. because it's going to look murky or smeary, where your wax is already at. That's what you want. You can use the light in your garage to be able to determine where you've already waxed. Now if you've ever hand waxed before you might be asking yourself, "Well, Jake I've hand waxed before and my arm was as tired as it ever could be while I was waxing my vehicle." You can see it does take a little bit to get it applied. You can use an orbital polisher, you just want to make sure you use low speeds. All right. Now that we've got our wax applied, we're going to wait between 10 and 30 minutes, depending on the temperature outside. We're in a nice school garage, so we should be able to wait about 10 to 15 minutes to be able to wipe it off. After those 10 to 30 minutes have passed, we can go ahead and take our microfiber towel, included in the kit, and wipe it off. Now if you noticed that the wax is still streaking, then you're going to want to let it sit for a little bit longer. You can apply multiple coats of this, you do just want to make sure there's at least 24 hours in between the times when you wax so that the first coat has enough time to cure.If you get the wax on any plastic or rubber seals or anything, this is a good time to get it off too because it will show up white once it fully dries in the sun. I will go ahead and peel our tape off separating our two different surfaces. Again, you're not going to have to do this, we're just doing this for a comparison between the two. I know you probably can't see the difference on the camera, but I can tell you by feeling it with the back of my knuckle, this feels like glass, the area that we did. And if you get to right about there, where the halfway point is, you can see my knuckle starts to drag when it gets to the non-waxed surface. So it's nice and smooth over here and then it gets harder here. But, we're going to go ahead and do a water test for you guys so you can see the difference. So I'll dump a little bit water on this side and you'll see it cling to the paint. As it goes down, see how we have some water dripping down. What's going to happen is if you get out of a car wash or you wash your car yourself and you have hard water, these are all going to turn into hard water spots. But we'll go ahead and dump it on our waxed surface and see that we have a little bit that stuck to it, but not as much as we did over here. On this surface, we are going to have to put a couple more coats as it's going to be your sign that you do need some more coats on here. But this is a good start to a better finish than what we had at the beginning. Now when it comes to cleaning your pads, you're going to want to take your pad, turn your water in your sink on to like a medium hot temperature. You don't want it to be too hot to where you can't work in it, but you do want it pretty warm. And then you want to saturate the pad and use your thumbs to work the wax compounds out of the pad. And then you'll take a little bit of dish soap, put it on it and then work it out again until you can't see any residue of the wax left in the pad. And for the towel, you're going to want to do the same thing. There may not be as much on the towel, so you may be okay till your next wax to be able to use the towel again. It just depends on how large your vehicle is, but to be able to clean your towel, you want to do the same thing. You do not want to put either one of these inside your washing machine because it will leave a wax residue on the inside.Well guys, with all that being said, I hope this video helped you to be able to get your car waxed to a perfect shot..
