Is this right for you? Product Expert Kathleen M says:

Yes, if you:

  • Just want something inexpensive and reliable to add a vent to your trailer or replace an old busted one
  • Prefer a solid white lid that lets in light without the sun shining through and heating up your camper

No, if you:

  • Often have hail or drive under low-hanging branches - the cover isn't the most impact resistant
  • Need a faster way to open and close your lid in rain or high winds than using a hand crank or knob
This roof vent allows air to circulate in motor homes and enclosed trailers, keeping interiors ventilated without compromising security. Wedge-shaped, white plastic vent cover opens and closes from inside with a hand-operated crank. Lowest Prices for the best rv vents and fans from Ventline. I like the ease of removing the screens, the handle that lifts the vent Lid is tucked up out of the way, it’s base is made of metal.

Great fan is really quiet.

by:

Was very pleased with the service and quick response. It got here sooner than promised and have already gotten it installed. It was used in the conversion of an enclosed utility trailer.

by:

Easy to install ( I highly recommend a good quality elastomeric caulk) the dome is a light weight plastic, had I known I would have spent more money for a heavier fiberglass unit.

by:

Delivery was timely and arrived complete and intact. The Vent dome kit fit perfectly and I was able to install the assembly in a short time with excellent results. I will definitely return to e trailer for future projects.

by:

Due to packing of shipment, heavy items were put on top of vent and vent plastic was cracked

by:

I was pleased and surprised when installing the new vent, that it was not only a perfect fit in the opening in the camper roof, but the screw holes in the flange lined up precisely with the holes from the previous unit I had removed! This may be because there is some kind of industry standard on hatch flange layouts, or I just got lucky. But boy, did that make the install simple and fast. I ran out of my Dicor Self-leveling sealant, before getting completely around the unit, but the job is virtually done and the new vent looks great!

Comments
Sorry, but the camper has been parked for a long time. But no question, the new vent is fine: no leaks, functions well. Thanks!

This was a great vent for my family's pop up camper that was passed down the family to me. The vent cover in the middle of the camper was broke into peices and was covered up for many years. No damage was down from the rain so I was thankful. This vent is great and It was real simple to install. And works perfectly and is for sure brand new in the box. Note: it did not come with screws, so you will need to get those along with your caulk tape and caulking of your choice. The instructions calls for size #8 screws. I used 1" long self tapping screws which worked perfectly for the job.

Thanks etrailer.com your fast shipping and reasonable prices, which got my camper as good as new now. I will be using you guys from now on, if anymore parts are needed in the future.

by:

When the package arrived. I found one of the corners on the frame was bent. I was able to straighten it. Suggest that a better method of packaging for shipment be developed

by:

Currently there is a foot of snow on top of the trailer. I ordered early to have product on hand when weather is warmer I will be able to do the work. After they are installed I'll be happy to write a review.

by:

Received the vent faster than expected, installed is and work great! Removed the old vent and installed this unit, fits great and the screen is much better than the old one. Great price, fast delivery, installed easily.

by:

Fits perfect easy installation for repl acement

by:

Fit perfect

by:

It’s been 1 year since I purchased this vent kit for my box trailer. I still haven’t installed the vent yet. So I can’t comment as to how well the vent ages when installed. But I can tell you from experience that if you buy it and leave it in the box for a year, it will look brand new when you open it.

by:

Exactly what I ordered . Delivery was quick at no cost about 24 hours from order to my door

by:

So easy to install. Did it in one half hour.

by:

Trailer roof vent was of high quality and was self installed with no problems. Very pleased with etrailer.com.

by:

Easy installation. Great for daytime light, and ventilation.

by:

As advertised fit my pop up camper perf ect.

by:

Product arrived in great condition and as expected. Easy installation and just what I was after.

by:

Thank you for the timely manner in which you processed and shipped my order.

by:

After years of use, the existing vent on my enclosed trailer finally met its maker by way of a falling branch, and maybe a few spots of rust around the perimeter. A quick search on the Etrailer website had the new one at my doorstep is no time. The tough part was taking off the old vent. But after a little elbow grease it came right off. I had watched an installation video by etrailer prior to my purchase to make sure I had all the necessary supplies, butyl tape and dicor. It went it without issue and looks great. Thanks Etrailer!

Great customer service

by:

I actually ordered two vents for two different installations. The delivery was on time and I installed the first one with no problems.. I was replacing an existing vent. The second one I bought to modify, as I am restoring a 1969 streamline RV travel trailer. As there are very few replacement parts available I used the cap part mated to the existing hardware and the installation now looks very good. Thanks for the quick delivery

by:

I recently purchased two ventadomes with install kits. Great price for the product and nice to have the videos to gain an understanding of the install. Now that I am well practiced my only advice is to not use the pre drilled holes on the hinge side as they are aligned with the position of the hinge points. Not a big deal but would have had less caulk on my hands and on the dome if I knew that ahead of time. Second vent when much better.

  • How to Determine Which Replacement Vent Lid for 2005 Lowe's 6x10 Utility Cargo Trailer
It sounds like you're just needing a replacement vent lid. If just the existing lid is damaged, you can just replace the lid instead of the entire assembly. In order to determine the correct replacement vent, you'll first need to examine what's left of the old vent cover and the vent itself. Look for any brand name or part numbers. Most roof vents are made to fit an opening that is approximately 14-1/4 x 14-1/4. This size is often referred to as 14 x 14. The old vent in your trailer is...

Most likely your 1989 Mallard Sprint uses a standard RV style roof vent like the Ventline # V2092SP-28 is designed to fit. If the opening for the vent measures right at 14 inch by 14 inch this vent will fit and work well. I attached an install video for this vent for you to check out as well.

  • Availability of Roof Vent for 13" x 13" Rough Roof Opening
All of our standard roof vents, such as the Ventline Ventadome # V2092SP-28, are designed to install into a 14" x 14" or 14-1/4" x 14-1/4" rough opening. This is the standard vent size for trailers and RVs so I'm not aware of one that is designed for a 13" square opening. Unfortunately your only option is going to be to try and expand the existing cutout on the trailer to accommodate a new vent like this. This will also make it easier to replace the unit down the line or even upgrade...

It does sound like you have a standard 14" x 14" roof vent on your 1960 Fireball camper. I went out to the warehouse and measured the inside of the Ventline Ventadome Trailer Roof Vent # V2092SP-28 to find that the inside measures about 13-1/4" x 13-1/4" so it would work well for your application. This particular vent is manually operated like what likely originally came on your camper. We do have upgraded vents though that connect to power and utilize fans to help vent the air better....

The roof on your pop-up camper might be a bit thinner than what's on standard travel trailers but the Ventline Ventadome Roof Vent # V2092SP-28 that you referenced does include a garnish that allows it to fit with different thicknesses. You can certainly use the vent, but you will have to modify the garnish or use some lumber to make a frame around the hole to take up some of the additional room.
