Manual lift roof vent with LED light removes unwanted hot air and moisture from your RV's kitchen or bathroom. The fan circulates air like a ceiling fan when your vent is closed. Integrated rain shield lets you open your vent in any weather.
Features:
Specs:
The LED light acts as a convenient night light or accent light. Whether installed on your ceiling or sidewall, the light will assist in leading you to the restroom in the middle of the night or into the kitchen for a midnight snack.
The built-in rain shield surrounds the vent opening so that you can use it in rain or shine. The shield blocks rainwater and other debris from entering through the vent and damaging the interior of your RV or camper. It also eliminates the need to install a separate vent cover.
The fan guard protects your fan from water and debris when mounted on the side of your RV. The guard slides over your vent with the solid end facing up to block rainwater and allow run-off, while the slotted end faces down to allow ventilation. The fan guard also gives you peace of mind with small children around, as it provides the ultimate protection against accidental contact with fan blades.
The push-button handle lets you open and close the lid of your vent with ease - no hand-cranking needed. Simply push the button and push up to open the lid, or pull down to close the lid. Releasing the button automatically locks the lid in place. When the lid is closed, it provides a seamless, low-profile appearance.

Ellen: Hey everyone I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com. Today we're taking a look at the MaxxFan Dome Plus Roof Vent. This is going to be a small roof vent. That's going to allow you to get the moisture and hot air out of your RV so you can get everything cooled down and keep that moisture buildup to a minimum. So it works out well for areas like your kitchen, your bathroom, and your showers. It's just going to be this small six diameter vent.
It is manually operated, so we'll just have this little button and the handle to close this and also to open it back up. So once it's mounted in place it's a little bit more sturdy, but that's basically the idea there is it just pops up into place and lets that air escape. Now this can be mounted on your roof or on a side wall.If you are going to be mounting it on the sidewall, you'll definitely want to be using the cover here, this little cowl and make sure that the solid side is facing up, that way it's going to protect our fan from anything getting in there, any dirt or debris and any water from coming in. So keeps everything protected, but also still allows that air flow to operate. It's going to come with the mounting hardware and two wire nuts to connect our positive and negative on our fan itself.
And it also comes with an extension. So if you have a roof or wall, that's thicker than an inch, this is going to be the extension that you need to span that gap. And then it also comes with a trim ring and this lights up as well. So we can have a little bit of light to help us see where the handle is and operate everything especially important if we do have it extended out, so we can see what we're working with.So I'm going to hook this up to power and ground real quick. You can see the fan and action and hear how loud it is.
So I've got my ground going to my white wire, power goes to my black wire and then there's just a little push button here on the inside, lets us turn on and off our fan, but I need to turn my power source on first, here we go. Now I can turn this on, and you can hear how loud that fan is. So it moves a pretty good amount of air and this is only an exhaust fan. So you can't reverse the direction of the fan to make it pull air into your RV. It's just going to push air out.
Hence, that exhaust function. I'm also going to hook up our trim ring here. So you can see that light in action as well.So I'm just going to hook that up with all my stuff. And then this again, push button turns that on, turn off the light in my studio. So you can get an idea of how bright that is. So not blinding, which is great since you're probably going to be looking at it. So it's going to be nice and easy to see, but also still give you a good amount of light to be able to see everything without being blinded, also would make a nice nightlight inside your bathroom, if you want to go that route as well. I'll unconnect or unhook everything here and we'll talk about measurements real quick. Our fan does have a removable screen, so you can clean that out as it gets gunked-up with leaves and debris and maybe some bugs have tried to make their way inside your RV. And also has a removable fuse here as well. So it is going to be fuse protected. That is a five amp fuse and this works with 12 volt systems. Now, again, this is a six inch diameter fan. So six inches in diameter. That's going to be the inner diameter there. For our outer measurement, it's about eight and a half inches in diameter for this outer ring. For our lid, it's more like, excuse me for our outer ring it's more like nine inches. And then this inner top ring is about eight inches. The handle, it's about five and three quarter inches long. So definitely enough space to get anybody's hand in there to push that up. Our extension is about six inches tall, the outer diameter for our light ring or a trim ring. It's about nine inches from outer edge to outer edge and just about an inch thick. The collar going on the outside, outer diameter for that is about 10 inches, about 10 and a quarter. The top here it's about eight and a half. And then the sticks out from our wall by about two and a half inches. So I hope that gives you an idea of what this fits, how big everything is and whether or not this is going to be right for you, but that's pretty much it with our look at the MaxxFan Dome Plus Roof Vent with LEDs. Hope this video has been helpful deciding if this is going to be the right thing for you. If not, we have a lot of options available here at etrailer.com, so definitely check them out. Thanks for watching. And we'll see you next time.

Manual lift roof vent with LED light removes unwanted hot air and moisture from your RV's kitchen or bathroom. The fan circulates air like a ceiling fan when your vent is closed. Integrated rain shield lets you open your vent in any weather.Delivered on time and well packed. The Maxxfan Dome Plus is a very nice assembly and is a lot better built than the fan that was OEM with my Airstream Interstate.
Installed this today. Very easy replacement in airstream bath. Not to noisy and the light is fantastic. Only 4 stars at this time because of reviews saying they become noisy after a few months. We will see. etrailer is great!

This vent fan helps a lot with keeping my 7x14 cargo trailer cool. Did a lot of modifications with my trailer especially insulating the ceiling and now with this fan makes it better and cooler. The lid is always open to let the heat out because i have the MaxxAir II cover so rain cant get in. Fan runs better with more or bigger airflow from the side vents when all doors are closed so i added the Redline II popup vent and it works great. Fan does not slow down. Im glad i got this and will be purchasing again when i get another trailer. Thanks ETrailer

Nice product, very impressed with it’s design, construction, functions, quality and ease of operations. It looks great on my Transit van. Being it’s a medium height roof I don’t want it to be any higher than it has to be. The low profile is nice. The height of van with Maxxfan open is 9 ft. 4 in. The etrailer installation video on the Transit was very helpful. I made a frame just as described on the video. Using the 2 x 2 ft. piece of 3/4 inch plywood to make the frame is the way to go. It provides the strength I needed due to the weight of my solar panel bracket just 3 inches away. The two screws you see near the edge of the frame is the solar panel bracket. A constructed picture frame style frame would never support the weight. It is a strong solid frame. The roof is solid.

I love these fans. When I bought a caravan I removed the fantastic fan for one of these because it can be left open when it rains....I rarely ever closed it just so I had airflow in the caravan. Now I have a van, installed it for the same reason. Expensive, but worth it in the long run. I wish they offered a non translucent top model.

I use my van for construction as well as camping. I wanted an all weather fan to keep it more comfortable. I just installed the MaxxAir fan today and so far is seems great. I followed the install video for my Nissan NV2500 on etrailer.com and everything went perfectly. The only thing in did differently was use pvc board instead of plywood for the pack out material. It looks great and functions great. I would highly recommend this product.

We ordered and DIY-installed two of these MaxxAir fans to replace ineffective and aging vent fans in our 5th wheel RV. Installation was straightforward using the easy-to-understand instructions. All the necessary hardware is included, although you'll need some butyl tape and self-leveling sealant to complete the installation on the rooftop. We love the ease of operation, the relatively quiet 10-speed fan, and the ability to use the fan even during a rain. The mounting bracket that fits the 14" roof opening is a one-time install, meaning that you don't have to tear into the roof and sealant again should you ever need to replace the fan and cover unit with the same or similar model. I agree with all the other positive reviews I've read about this product.

Purchased the Maxxair Fan for a Ford Transit camper conversion and after 6 months on the road I wouldn't have gone with anything else. It's easy to install, easy to use, and I've had no issues at all with it. Etrailer was also quick to provide support when / if I needed it!

The vent installation went very well. The video on etrailer was helpful. I added aluminum reinforcement flat bars to the top of the mounting flange to improve the stiffness of the sheet metal roof. The Sprinter van has a flat area to install the fan without having to build up a mounting surface. I used stainless steel Philips head screws and nylocks instead of the provided stainless steel screws. The black wire on the fan is the positive lead which is not a standard 12-volt wiring color.

I purchased this maxxfan to replace the roof vent unit that came on our camper. This new vent fan is whisper quiet and best of all it can remain open while its raining. The install was easy and it fit the original hole perfectly. Used the TremPro 644 sealant also sold by etrailer and the install came out perfect. Thank You! etrailer for quick shipments and quality products.

I installed this fan in a home built camper that I filmed while building and posted the entire build on You Tube. The fan has help up perfectly and on low speed it will run a very long time with out recharging the battery. I have built five of these small campers and four of them have been equipped with this fan.

These MaxxFan rv fans are superb! Installed when we rehabbed a decrepit RV, they have held up wonderfully. We got rid of the cooking vent, thus giving more space in the kitchen, and our MaxxFan nearest the kitchen is our vent. You can see pictures and even a video of the fans and remodel on our blog yippikiyo.com etrailer is our #1 source for quality and price for our RV and other trailers.

This is my second Maxxfan for my van! why two fans on my van? it's a 2017 GMC Savana cargo van and the curvature of the van is to much for most add on windows and the ones I found that would work I didn't like so a second fan was to let more ventilation in . You can leave the fans open even in the rain and they have 10 speeds for intake or exhaust.

Just got it installed, works great! I had to do some modifications to the roof because I didn't pay attention to the 2 inch minimum, overall not a bad install process. etrailer was quick and had excellent service as always.

I've had the fan in for a season, and a couple southern road trips. Generally happy. It will run "all night" with no problems on the stock dual batteries in my Ford Transit passenger van. Didn't spring for the remote and maybe would the next time. the controls are bit small, hard to reach, a touch confusing for groggy, middle of the night changes. Fan is quiet and efficient but even on high, directly over the bed, it's not going to bath you with sweat drying air movement. Quality seems good, I installed with an aftermarket, designed for the transit roof profile, ring, it went well. I painted the interior trim with gray "for plastic" rattle can paint to match the Transit ceiling and that is good stuff, it held up well to multiple on offs while getting the install just right". I also brush painted elastomeric white roof coating over the exterior caulk and and mounting screws, zero leaks so far.

I purchased this MaxxAir MaxxFan to replace a stock vent/fan that came on my teardrop camper. The most important thing to me was that the fan was quiet as it is only about 4 feet away while sleeping. This fan is so quiet that I can barely hear it on low and on high we can talk in normal tones and hear the television over it just fine. With the stock fan on we could not hear the TV even with the volume at max and could barely stand to leave it on while sleeping. The sleek profile actually adds style to the teardrop. My second hope is that it moves enough air that we won't need to use A/C - so far so good, this fan moves so much air that my curtains go sideways (and can still hear crickets outside) and the 10 speeds let me get it just perfect. Auto on at 78 degrees, reversible, ceiling fan... all nice bonuses. 100% satisfied with this product - Follow the directions, install is relatively easy, solid product. Hardest part for me was correcting the original opening which was not square. I used an oscillating tool to cut the inside shroud down, it was pretty quick but left some cleanup, not sure if it was ultimately any easier than using the prescribed hacksaw.

My backyard Tuff Shed workshop has a turbine vent fan, which really doesn't work all that well. Over the years I've tried various powered fans, but have never been satisfied with the results. Now that it needs a roof, I was thinking about a solar roof fan. Since I have a 400 watt, 12 volt solar system for security lighting, I realized I could use a fan similar to the one in my RV. The installation was very easy, and the quality of the fan is excellent. Not having to worry about closing the lid for rain is great, and the automatic thermostat is a wonderful set and forget feature. I'm especially impressed how quiet it is.
