This Fan-Tastic Vent roof vent has a built-in 12V fan that pushes stale air out of your RV, camper, or enclosed trailer. A hand knob makes it easy to open and close the dome. And you can easily change the fan speed with the speed knob on the vent housing.

Ceiling Vent and Fan with 3 Speeds

Air out your RV after cooking and keep the air smelling fresh. Turn the speed knob on the vent housing to increase or decrease the fan speed. There are 3 speeds: low, medium, and high. This way, you can select the speed that you find most comfortable.

Installation

This vent requires a 14-1/4" x 14-1/4" opening in your trailer's roof and ceiling. To replace an old vent, install this vent into the existing opening. If your roof does not already have a vent, you will need to mark and cut an opening between roof joists to install this unit. And the 2-wire design makes it easy to have your vent hooked up and ready for use.

Video Transcript for Fantastic Vent Enclosed Trailer Parts FV801200 Review

Today we're going to be taking a look at part number FV801200. This is the Fantastic Vent roof vent with a twelve volt fan built in. This is going to help push the old air out of your RV, camper, or enclosed trailer. It's going to feature a variable speed fan that's going to offer three speeds to boost or reduce the air flow as needed. I'm going to flip it over that way you can see the controls here on the bottom. Right here you're going to have your hand crank. This is going to open or close the dome on the top of the vent.

On this side right here that small area is going to be where the fuse is being held. That's where the fuse is installed and then this right here is going to be the hand knob to control the speed of the fan. You're going to have your low, medium and high speed. It's also going to feature a pop out screen that's going to keep insects out and easily detaches for cleaning when needed. I'm going to separate these two pieces so this area right here, this would be the area that would sit in between the ceiling and the roof of your RV, camper or enclosed trailer. Two piece design.

That screen piece that I was talking about is this piece right here and then you can see when I operate the knob, it's going to open up that vent or excuse me it's going to open up the dome. You can see the fan blades in here. This is going to feature ten clear fan blades so that's still going to allow plenty of sunlight to come into your RV, camper or enclosed trailer. This right here, the dome is going to be a smoke colored dome made from a polyethylene construction. It's going to filter UV rays while still allowing light into your camper. Very simple installation. It's going to feature a two wire design.

White wire is going to be for your ground connection. Black wire is going to be for your power. All your hardware is included. It's going to come with some extension pieces of wire. Now the wire coming out of the housing, so the wire that I have in my hand, this is going to measure about twenty-two inches long.

The wires in the hardware pack, those are going to measure about twenty-six inches long. It's going to come with all the screws to get everything installed and it's going to come with some butt connectors that way you can easily connect your wires. This product is going to be fully made in the USA. It's designed for RV's, campers and trailers with roofs up to four inches thick. This piece right here, this is what's called the interior trim piece. It's going to have four mount holes, one on each corner. This is the piece that you're going to be able to see from inside your RV, camper or enclosed trailer. It's got a nice design. It's white. It's going to match a lot of interiors out there and it just adds a nice finished look to the installation. Again, these two pieces are going to fit into one another. This unit is going to fit your standard fourteen inch by fourteen inch opening in the ceiling and roof. Now the center area that goes into the ceiling, we're going to go over just some specific measurements real quick. Measuring from outside edge to outside edge, that's going to give us a measurement of about thirteen and three quarters of an inch. Measuring outside edge to outside edge right here at the flange so overall width, that's going to give us a measurement of about sixteen and one quarter of an inch. Now these mount holes on the corner, this is a square design but the mount holes on the corners, those are going to be separated on center by fifteen and one sixteenth of an inch. When this is fully installed, your vent is going to be extended above the roof. When it's in the closed position by four and a half inches and when it's fully open it's going to extend above the roof by eleven and a half inches. I'm going to go ahead and fit these two pieces back together. Another thing I want to point out is right here around the closure point of the dome, it's going to be a nice rubberized gasket. It's going to help keep all that moisture out. All the things that we don't want getting in. So when this is closed, that creates a nice tight seal. That way it keeps all that unwanted stuff out from our RV, camper, enclosed trailer. Now when it comes to the fan capacity on high, that's at nine twenty SCFM, which is going to be your standard cubic feet per minute of air flow and the power draw on high is at three amps, medium is six hundred and fifty-three SCFM, power draw at two point two nine amps and on low that's four hundred and seventy-eight SCFM with a power draw of one point eight six amps. Now to replace your old vent and install this vent you just do so in the existing opening. If your roof does not already have a vent, you'll need to mark and cut an opening between the roof joists to install this unit but again, all your hardware is included. I do want to go ahead and hook it up to our external power source that way you can kind of hear how quiet the fan actually is. So with our power connected go ahead and turn it on low. It's going to send out really good air flow. You can't even really hear it when it's on low. When it's on medium it increases in noise just a little bit but still not very noticeable. So we just went from medium to high and you can kind of hear the difference there but it's still a very quiet fan even when it's all the way on high. That's going to do it for today's review of part number FV801200. This is the Fantastic Roof Vent with a twelve volt fan.

I have purchased a lot of products from etrailer,& I will continue to do so. products are of good quaility & prices are reasonable. the roof fan I choosed was the manual type as I like a lot of people, look at the replacement costs. Sooner or later some one will forget to close it when traveling. the back up cameras for motorhome & pickup ,Front hitch on pu all have & still work great after yeas of use. 567777

Fan and vent work great, the only reason I marked four stars is because there is a small gap on the inside of the bathroom ceiling and the casing and it is not as powerful as my previous fan. I have 2004 Jayco Jay flight, so maybe the roof angle is just off or the camper shop didn't line everything up perfectly when installing. Minor cosmetic issue that does not affect how good it works. etrailer shipped fast and I will shop there again. 431212

Just received this one today, but liked the one we had installed in our Micro Minnie so much, that it was one of the first items we ordered for our new RV. Preferred it to running the AC. Even in the summer we seldom ran the AC overnight, we'd just turn on our Fantastic Fan, open the window by our bed, and a nice cool breeze would flow in over us. etrailer is great too. Not only do they provide many videos for the products they sale, but they also have great customer service reps, that are happy to help with any issues or questions you may have. 381179

This vent is far better than Maxx Fax. U.S. made and quality shows through and through. It also runs very quiet and draws less power with similar speed setting as the Maxx Fan; how do I know this? Because with the Fantastic Fan continuously running in my travel travel overnight using two deep cycle batteries which are charged during the day by a 400W solar penal still have lots of juice left in the morning whereas the with MaxxFan running all night it completely drains the bettery and I hear the annoying beeping sound from my inverter. Go with Fantastic, just be sure to close the lid before you hit the road. 543695

We used this Fantastic Fan in our remote off grid rustic cabin. It is mounted in the wall instead of the roof. It functions perfectly to pull air through our cabin and it uses only a small amount of power from our 12v battery bank. I have always had very good luck with Fantastic Fans and etrailer. I highly recommend both. Brad 321211

The only Issue I have with Product is , if you want to remove the screen you have to go up on top of the trailer and manipulate the tabs holding it to allow it to come down, almost a two person job,, If you try to remove it from the inside you may cause some damage trying to pry it off, I fix it so it easily comes down on the inside with out any prying the screen will rotate , so i marked the frame where the tabs are and cut out some slots to allow them to go in the frame without any real force then rotate the screen so the tabs lock in , works perfectly ,would be a great modification to the Prouduct, 430859

Fantastic fans are, no doubt, one of the best products made. This particular purchase is for an equipment trailer used as an exhaust vent. Because of the difficulty of access, I have wired this vent with a remote switch. I trust Fantastic products so much, that I know this will run unattended and might need cleaning twice a year. This trailer has expense equipment in it year round and in Georgia, you better have so air flow or humidity will destroy everything. I trust this fan that much! 441167

We no longer have the travel trailer we put this in, but I am happy to review anyway, because I really appreciate etrailer as a company. This fan didn't really live up to our expectations. It does move a good amount of air, enough for our 175sf space, and it was very easy to install into the existing vent space. I would recommend, however, choosing instead one with a thermostat. This would be a great feature that would make it shut off at night once it's reached a reasonably cool temperature. More importantly, the fan wasn't as quiet as we expected. It is likely that something was wrong with the motor, because after ensuring the blades were free of any debris and were clean, it still ran too loud for what it is. Lastly, I recommend getting the extra Maxx Fan/Vent Cover to put over top of this. Otherwise, any time the cover is open and there is even a light breeze, the cover will bounce up and down and make noise. All this said, bear in mind this is the cheapest one. In the future, we would have chosen differently. 484940

Always great to order from ETrailer.. Fantastic fan lived up to its reputation. Price was a bit more than the chinese fan that did not require total replacement of vent and cover however quality is much better in this made in USA product. Although it required more work to replace the whole vent unit to install this vs the chinese unit, it was well worth it considering the quality and how well this fan moves air and is quiet. Everything needed except for the lap caulk was provided. The instructions could use a bit more clarification about using the provided gasket vs caulk strips. Also worthwhile is the low amp draw vs the non USA fan. Works great at moving air through the RV. 227359

This thing has been great. It pulls air very nicely and is pretty quiet to say the least. I installed it on my teardrop trailer and am very pleased with it. My old one didn't have the extra lip to keep water from seeping in. Ever since I installed this one I have zero leaks. 553883

Fast shipment, ordered on Monday at my house on Wednesday. Easy to replace the old fan, however the fan is very loud even on the lowest speed. Another issue is that the old fan vent covers to not work with this fan as there is no place to drill into the fan housing. Not a big deal, I'll secure the vent cover to the roof. Overall, a lot of plastic, but seems to work okay. Just wish the fan was not this loud. Not the best overall if you are looking for a quiet or low noise fan. 582345

Works well a year later. A minor issue is that it is a bit noisy. It's really not bad at all though, and I have no basis to compare it to any other vent fans. The noise is the motor itself and a humming rather than just the noise made from the fan disturbing air. That said, I would buy 100 more of these if I had 100 more vans... maybe a solution would be to keep it away from your head where you sleep, mine is directly above my face. 434085

  • What Is Amperage Draw For Fan-Tastic Vent Roof Vent w/ 12V Fan
  • I went to the warehouse and checked out the Fan-Tastic Vent Roof Vent w/ 12V Fan, part # FV801200. The fan motor on the vent has a 3-amp draw. This fan is designed to fit roofs that are up to 4-inches thick and the rough opening size you need for this vent is 14-1/4 inches x 14-1/4 inches.

A rotary cutting tool, like a Dremel tool, will work well, or you can use a fine-tooth hacksaw blade. You may prefer to select an alternate garnish that is closer to your roof dimension. • The best way to measure for a replacement roof vent with fan is to measure the size of the rough opening in your trailer's roof. Most standard vent openings are 14-1/4 inches x 14-1/4 inches wide. • Is There a Correct Size for a Fan-Tastic Roof Vent on a Haulmark Edge Trailer?
  • Based on my research, your Haulmark Edge race trailer has a standard 14" x 14" roof vent, which requires a 14-1/4" x 14-1/4" opening. If you are concerned about roof thickness, the Fan-Tastic vent's roof garnish - such as the one in the photo that I've attached - can be trimmed to meet your specifications. The only thing left for you to do is choose which vent you prefer. The most popular of our Fan-Tastic roof vents is # FV801200, which has a manual-speed knob to let you control airflow....

  • Size of Hole Needed to Install the Fan-Tastic Roof Vent FV801200
  • Rough cut openings for roof vents have a bit of wiggle room on the dimension. Between 14 inch and 14-1/4 inch would work well with the Fan-Tastic roof vent part # FV801200.

  • Comparing the Fan-Tastic Vent # FV801200 and the Clamp on Fan-Tastic Vent # FV801208
  • Both the Fan-Tastic Vent Roof with the Manual Lift # FV801200 and the Clamp on Fan-Tastic Vent Roof with the Manual Lift # FV801208 have a height of 4-1/2 inches when closed and a height of 11-1/2 inches when opened. Neither of them is higher or lower than the other when installed. The controls for the fan will be located at about the same height as well. The part # FV801200 has the deeper sides but that does not affect where the control is located. If you are looking for something...

  • Minimum Roof Thickness of the Fan-Tastic Vent Roof Vent Part # FV801200
  • The minimum roof thickness that the Fan-Tastic Vent Roof Vent part # FV801200 can be installed on is 1-1/2". However, since you are only 1/8" of an inch off of the manufacturer's specification you could more than likely trim the supplied garnish or add a bit of weather stripping around the flange in order to achieve the 1-3/8" thickness on your roof. I have attached a review video for you as well.

  • Recommended Powered Vent With Electric Lift And Rain Sensors
  • The Fan-Tastic Vent Roof Vent w/ 12V Fan - Manual Lift - 14-1/4" x 14-1/4" # FV801200 is a nice fan, but there is a powered lift fan available. I recommend the Fan-Tastic Vent Roof Vent w/ 12V Fan and Remote - Powered Lift - 14-1/4" x 14-1/4" # FV807350 as a direct replacement. This is thermostat-controlled and has rain sensors to automatically close for rain or snow. Another thermostat controlled unit without the remote is the Fan-Tastic Vent Roof Vent w/ 12V Fan and Thermostat - Powered...

  • Trimming Celing Garnish to Install a Fan-Tastic Roof Vent on a Thin Roof
  • The garnishes for fans such as # FV801200 can be trimmed to fit a thinner roof. The easiest way to do it is to trim it to length using a rotary tool. If no rotary tool is available scoring each side repeatedly with a box cutter or Exacto knife and ruler can do the job. If your roof is really thin you will likely need to replace the included garnish with a shorter one such as # VA0445-25.

  • Does Fan-Tastic Vent Roof Vent With 12V Fan Have Reversible Air Flow
  • The Fan-Tastic Vent Roof Vent With Fan, part # FV801200 is designed to do just what you mentioned you want to use it for. It will circulate the air in your RV or camper by pushing the air out of your camper/RV. This variable speed fan is not reversible but has 3 speeds to move the air out as needed. It has a manual knob on the housing that lets you control the air flow. The rough opening for this vent is 14-1/4 x 14-1/4 inch. If you want to cover the vent when not in use I recommend...

  • Exhaust Fan Recommendation For Sprinter Cargo Van
  • I am not sure any of our fans are rated for use in removing biohazard waste fumes, but a powered roof vent like the # FV801200 would work well for removing air at a decent rate. The can can move 920 cubic feet of air so it works does a great job. I attached a review video for you to check out as well.

  • Fan-Tastic Roof Vent Circuit Board Fails Second Time On 2006 Arctic Fox Camper
  • It sounds like you have not had much luck with the Fan-Tastic Vent Roof Vent you have on your Arctic Fox. Instead of replacing the circuit board again there may be an issue with the wiring that is causing the circuit board to fail. I would check to make sure all of the wiring is secure and not shorting out and causing the issue. If you are unable to find the source of the problem you may want to just replace the fan. I have attached a link to our product page for Fan-Tastic Vent Roof...

  • Replacement Vents for a 2012 Forest River Flagstaff Micro Lite Travel Trailer
  • If you want to replace all the vent assemblies on the trailer then the world is your oyster! The standard roof vent such as # V2092SP-28 fits a 14-1/4 inch square opening. You can use this one or any of the others listed in the link included below to replace the manual vent without a fan. For a basic vent with a 12 volt fan you can use # FV801200 or any of the models listed in the other link I have provided. I have linked a video review of the above-mentioned fan/vent. The skylight...

  • Will Fan-Tastic Vent Roof Vent # FV801200 Fit in the Roof of a Ram Promaster Van
  • Technically you could install the Fan-Tastic Vent Roof Vent # FV801200 in the roof of your Promaster van. But because the roofs on vehicles are much thinner than those on RVs or trailers the vent assembly will stick down a few inches from the roof/ceiling. The Ventline Vanair Trailer Roof Vent # VP-543SP isn't as large but would be a better fit in your Promaster. I have linked a video of it for you.

  • Will a Fan-Tastic Powered Roof Vent Replace a Ventline Powered Roof Vent
  • The Fan-Tastic Vent part # FV801200 would work well as a replacement to the Ventline powered roof vent that you have. It also uses 2 wires for operation so it would just be a matter of wiring the new fan to the old wiring. This will also fit the same size opening as your current vent.

  • Can the Direction of the Fan on the Fan-Tastic Vent Roof Vent # FV801200 be Reversed
  • Yes, if you wanted to reverse the air flow of the Fan-Tastic Vent Roof Vent # FV801200 all you would need to do is reverse the polarity of the wiring. This would have the air blow into the trailer instead of out.

  • How Tall Is The Garnish Included With Fan-Tastic Vent Roof Vent
  • The garnish that is included with the Fan-Tastic Vent Roof Vent, part # FV801200 measures 4-1/2 inches tall. This fan has a smoke-colored polyethylene dome that helps filter UV rays and still allow light in. The fan has mounting hardware included and is designed to fit rough openings 14-1/4 x 14-1/4 inches.

  • Could Fantastic Vent part # FV801200 Be Powered by 60 Watt Solar Panel
  • The fan of the Fantastic Vent part # FV801200 you referenced draws 4 amps. A 60 watt solar panel at 12 volts is capable of producing 5 amps so the fan would work if you had direct sunlight. The version with a remote controller is the part # FV807350.
