Ideal for Part-Time RVers

When you're taking your RV on the road for weeks at a time, you'll want to make sure your toilet can handle that long a journey. This toilet is built for part-time RVers who use their RV more frequently than just on the weekends. The low-profile design means it'll take up less space in your RV's bathroom. The ceramic bowl is more durable and easier to clean than a plastic bowl. And the lid closes slowly, so it won't loudly slam against the rim. This toilet provides the durability and ease of use needed for your long RV adventures.

Measure to Fit

RV toilet rough in measurement

There's one measurement you should double check to see if this toilet will easily fit into your bathroom. The rough-in measurement is the minimum distance you'll need from the wall to the center of the flange on which the toilet will sit. To measure this distance without uninstalling your current toilet, the mounting bolts on the side will typically tell you where the center of the flange is. You may want to triple check if your toilet has an offset flange or 4-bolt mounting style.

The Dometic 311 Series RV toilet has a rough-in measurement of 10". If your rough-in measurement is less than 10", select a toilet model with a lower requirement or consider alterations to make it fit. Keep in mind the overall dimensions of the toilet, and measure for yourself to pick the best model for an easy DIY upgrade.

Video Transcript for Review of Dometic RV Toilets - Low Profile Tan Ceramic Toilet - DOM77FR

Hi there, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a quick look at this Dometic 311 Part-Timer RV toilet. This is going to be a perfect option for part-time RV living and extended camping trips. This does have a very sturdy 8 1/4 inch deep ceramic bowl, and so it's going to be very long lasting and easier to clean than plastic, but being ceramic, it is gonna be a little bit heavier than your plastic bowls. Our seat lid and base are all going to be a polypropylene material, so are they are gonna be durable and a lighter weight. So you're kind of gonna get the best of both worlds, having that more durable bowl, and then the lighter weight lid and base here.

So our overall weight, it's only gonna be about 27 1/2 pounds, so it's not gonna add too much weight to your RV. This does have a low profile design, so it is going to be great for your smaller RV bathrooms or those with a raised toilet platform. Our overall height here, we're looking at right at 15 inches up to the seat. So that's going to be maybe a little bit more of a challenge to get up from than some of the other, taller options out there. If we look at our width, our overall width is right about 15 inches as well, and then our depth overall, it's gonna be right about 19 inches, 19 1/4 inch deep.

Now, another important measurement for you to consider is going to be your rough-in measurement. That is going to be the minimum distance that you'll need from the wall to the center of your flange where the toilet will sit. To measure that distance without uninstalling your current toilet, you will probably be able to use your mounting bolts, depending on how many mounting bolts you have, but on the side there, that's typically the center of your flange. So if you measure from your wall to those, this toilet has the rough-in measurement of 10 inches. So you wanna make sure that you have at least that much room there so that this will fit in place properly.

This does feature the slow close seat and lid. So it is going to quietly close without slamming against the bowl, so that's gonna be really nice for those late night bathroom visits. Won't have to worry about disturbing everyone that's sleeping, especially with everyone being in such close quarters. It will be nice to have that quiet closure, there. Does take a little bit of time, though, so once we open that lid up, our seat itself is going to have a overall length of 15 3/8 inch.

Get my tape measure out here to show you that. 15, just over 15 inches, just shy of 15 1/2 inches in length. Our seat thickness is right at 3 inches. And then our cutout here, we're gonna be at 11 inches long by 8 inches wide. Now this toilet does come in the white option that you see here, but then also in a tan that you see on the screen there. So depending on the color scheme of your RV's bathroom, these are the exact same toilet, same dimensions, the same materials, just a different color to match your RV's color scheme better. So pick the one that's gonna be the best match for you. This does use a simple gravity-flush design, so it will install directly above your blackwater tank. It does have the two bolt installation, so it's going to fit most existing floor flanges. They do include the hardware that you're gonna need to get this installed and to cap it off, to give it that nice finished look. The way it operates is with the foot pedal over here. So that's going to control our flushing. So when you're getting ready to use the toilet, you will want to push the foot pedal down about halfway so that water will fill up the bowl. Then when you're done, you'll push it down completely. That's gonna open that flange there so that everything can flush out. You only want to hold that down for one to two seconds. You don't want too much water to go down into your blackwater tank, use up too much of your water. This does have the pressurized water spouts here that are going to flow around the entire bowl to try and help clear out any waste that's in there. A normal flush only uses about one pint of water. So it's not gonna use too much, but they do sell a hand sprayer separately. You can find it here at etrailer.com using the part number that you see on the screen there. That's gonna let you more precisely rinse away any lingering residue in the bowl to ensure that you have a nice clean bowl. And that's also going to help reduce the amount of water that you're using, putting in your black water tank, by allowing you that more precise and to clear everything out. This toilet is made here in the USA, so you can trust it's made to the high quality standards that we've come to know and trust for products that are made in the U.S. So if you are looking to replace a low-profile toilet, or if you're wanting to add one to a system that has the capability of it, this is gonna do a great job for you. We do have lots of other options available here at etrailer.com as well. So if you need a toilet with different dimensions, different height, all sorts of other features, we've got lots of other options available as well. So if this one's not gonna meet your needs, make sure that you're finding one that will. So that's gonna complete our look for today. Again, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Thanks for watching..

I replaced my old, faded Thetford with this and the difference is pretty amazing! It arrived on time via UPS and the driver had me inspect it for damage before he left. Installation was very straightforward... shut off the water, removed the water supply line, remove the bolts securing the toilet to the floor, remove the old toilet, clear up the area, install the new bolts and set the toilet, tighten the nuts, reinstall the water line and turn on the water. etrailer is the only way to go!!

Toilet fits right in without any modifications except the water line is set back a little further when compared to a model 300 so may have to drill new hole for it. All in all lot nicer than the factory plastic one

One good! We punish this a lot! It’s just a little high so our feet swing wide. Also our water line is a tad short so we have it cocked sideward a bit, just fine for heavy abuse with our ski boots still on! We just pulled our RV out of storage and got it all polished up for another long season here!!!

Replaced a Thetford Model 42053. Couldn't get a call back from the Therford Corp or find the replacement for the water intake. Ordered new toilet from etrailer and it was delivered in two days. Now I can use my Moterhome again with water. Thank you!

Review from a similar 311 Series RV Toilet in RV Toilets

My order arrived on time. However when we took it out of the box the valve cover was broken in 3 parts and cannot be used. We have ordered many items from trailer and all items arrived in tact. This is the first time we have had any issues. I will continue ordering from etrailer.com they are quick, responsive and have had everything we need so far.
