The VESA standard is a mounting pattern for wall-mounted TVs that makes it easy to find a mounting bracket that will fit. The VESA mounting pattern is determined by measuring in millimeters from the center of one mounting hole to the center of the next mounting hole horizontally and then vertically.

The mounting holes on the back of the TV are placed specifically for the purpose of indicating which mounting bracket to buy. The VESA standard indicates that the standardized mounting holes are compatible with various mounting brackets throughout the industry. After measuring the distance between the mounting holes, finding the right mounting bracket is easy.

Video Transcript for Best RV Television Options

Today we're going to be taking a look at the best options available for RV TVs. You might be thinking, "Why do I need a RV rated TV, why can't I just use any TV in my RV or Camper" Well, the truth is, standard household TVs are not designed to hold up to those vibrations from a moving vehicle. Sure you can use them, but there's not telling how long they'll last. RV TVs, they're built to hold up to those vibrations, and they're designed to work in extreme temperatures and humidity. They feature metal plating for durability, and a polymer coating over the circuit boards to resist that vibration, so that's the difference between household TVs and RV rated TVs.Another thing to think about, is how your TV is powered, or how you need to power your TV. There are two ways, 12 volt and 110 volt.

12 volt is DC or Direct Current, 110 volt is AC or Alternating Current. 12 volt would be power running off your onboard battery or batteries in your RV, this would be ideal for off the grid adventures where you'll be relying strictly on your onboard batteries for power. 11 volt is powered from an external source, like maybe a camp ground. It's important to understand that 12 volt powered TVs will require wiring with powering ground, and it is fuse protected. 110 volt TVs just plug in with your common two prong plug.So again, depending on your camping style, if you're an off the grid type person, a 12 volt TV would be your best option.

If you're someone who camps at a camp ground where electricity is readily available, 110 volt TV would be your best option. Here at E-Trailer we have a variety of sizes ranging from 19 inch and up. We also have a variety of mounting options. Some of the TVs come with feet, like these two here, others have the option to add a stand, like this one here. Keep in mind they are sold separately. All of the TVs can be wall mounted, these too are sold separately.

The TVs that come with the feet are easy to install, all of the hardware is included, Phillips head screws just go into the bottom and they're nice and solid. They also feature padding to add grip and prevent them from sliding on whatever you place them on. So as you can see with this TVs feet, the rubber pads are going prevent it from moving, it's going to be nice and solid when we're on the road.On to the TV with the stand, it attaches to the back. It's a very easy installation, you can see how it mounts here at the bottom. All of the hardware is already included with your TV, so when you purchase the stand, you'll have everything you need. The wall mount option, allows you to mount your TV to the wall, it gets it up off that furniture, that flat surface or whatever table you might have it sitting on.

All in all it gives you a cleaner look, and all of the mounts are swivel, so you're going to be able to maneuver it any which way you'd like. Here on the back side, all of the mounts work with that standard bolt pattern, so they're going to work with all of our TVs. You do however want to be sure you choose the correct mount per the size of your TV. When you're all finished it can be stowed back up against the wall. Now we can talk about the quality of the RV TV. One of the most important features you may want to know, is resolution. Most people can't even tell the difference between the two resolutions, but 1080p has the better picture. With that being said, all of the TVs we carry are LCD with LED back lighting, so they're going to be brighter, they're going to last longer, they're more efficient, and they're going to be a lot better than the older florescent lamp style. The resolution may or may not be a big deal to you. For example, if you're wanting to put a TV in your kitchen to help keep you busy, or in the bedroom to help you fall asleep, the resolution is not a big deal. Or, if the TV plays a big part in your camping trip, you use it to entertain, you may want the better resolution. The next thing is, what are you going to be plugging into the TV There are external DVD players, streaming devices, gaming consoles, and more. Most of the TVs have got you covered. They have HDMI ports, composite and component connections, some TVs even have built in DVD players. Now all the TVs feature audio outputs for connecting additional speakers or sound bars, some of them even offer a headphone jack so you can listen to them through your headphones. If you're concerned about just using your antenna in your RV or camper, all of the TVs feature a RF input.Let's go ahead and take a look at the TVs I've got setting up. Now this isn't all of the TVs we carry, but it's some of the best options. I've tested each one, let's check it out starting with the Jensen 40 inch 1080p TV right here. Now this is the 12 volt model, so again you're going to have to hard wire that in. You can see here we've got the power wire and the ground wire and it is fuse protected. With that being said, it also includes composite cables and our remote. Let's talk about the picture quality. Now I thought this was very clear, I did however find that it has a bit of a narrow viewing angle. What I mean by that is I had to watch it straight on, if I we're to watch it from the left or the right side, it does kind of fade out a little bit, but it does have a good picture quality like I said. Now on to the sound. I did think the sound was very clear. I think one of the main reasons for that, is because the speakers do vent forward. Most of the times other TVs vent either down or back and bounce off whatever's behind them, but as I said, these face forward so I think we can hear that a little bit better. Now on to the buttons. Unlike other TVs, the buttons are visible, they're all right here in front, that way if we can't find the remote or wish to use the buttons on the TV, we can easily do that, they're easily accessible.Right here we have our coaxial, for plugging in maybe an antenna, our SPDIF for digital audio out. Right here we have our composite standard video cables for video, right and left audio, and then our component for HD video. Right here we have an HDMI port, and on to the bottom we've got another HDMI port. A USB plugin for maybe powering your streaming devices, and a left and right audio out for maybe a sound bar.Now on to this Jensen TV, this is the 55 inch 1080p. Now this is 110 volt TV, so it's going to have that common household two pronged cord that we're all used to, so very easy. Now when it came to the picture quality of this TV, I thought it was a little bit on the pixilated side, even after playing around with the settings it still remained a little bit fuzzy. But what's nice is, the viewing angle was very wide, so I could look at it from the side, the very front, both sides really, and still get that same picture as if I was looking at it straight on.When it came to the sound quality, I thought it was very clear and very loud for as big as the TV is, so you're not going to have any issues being able to hear it in your RV or camper, or even on the outside of your camper. The buttons are located on the bottom here, they are labeled here in the front that way you can easily operate them without any issues. So again, if you lose that remote, or you just wish to operate the TV onboard, you're not going to have any issues with that. It also includes a remote and some composite cables.Just like our other TV, we've got a spot to plug in an antenna if we'd like. We've got our digital audio out, we've got our standard video, right and left audio, and then we've got our component for that HD. We've got two HDMI ports, we've got one in here, and one there. We've got one here, one there. USB for those streaming devices, and then we've got our right and left audio out for maybe a sound bar.Next we have the Furrion 39 inch, this one's 720p. Now it too is 110 volts, so we're going to have that common household plugin that we're all used to. Now with this one I thought the picture was a little bit pixelated, kind of like the last one we looked at. I don't really mind too much about that pixelated, just as long as it's not too bad. However, this one it's color is a little bit washed out. I'm a colorful person, I like to have a lot of color in my TV, so this is not one that I would choose. Now as far as the viewing angle, kind of like our first one that we looked at, the Jensen, you kind of have to be looking at it straight on, that left and right view, it's going to get more washed out. I can still see what I'm watching, but it's faded, so you want to watch it straight on.When it comes to the sound quality, I thought it was about average. Didn't have any huge problems listening to it, it's still pretty clis . crisp and clear, excuse me, so we're not going to have any issues there. When it came to the housing, it seems to be a bit on the cheap side. There's not a . It's not flexible, but it's not glossy, it just looks like it's glued together. So not a big fan of that either. It does come with a remote and some composite cables. Now here on the side we have our buttons. I'm not a huge fan of this set up here, you can see how it's blocked by our screen. So if you're looking at the TV straight on, you feel around to the side for those buttons, you're not going to know what you're pushing so it just makes it kind of a hassle. The Furrion does offer a bit more than some of the other TVs. Up top here we've got our left and right audio out for maybe a sound bar, we've got a USB for powering our streaming devices, right here we've got our coaxial for using an antenna. Right here we've got our PC audio in, and then we've got our VGA in, so we can hook up our computer. Right here we have three HDMI ports, so this will be great for hooking up a DVD player and game console, or anything else you might have. Here on the bottom we have our other HDMI port. We have our standard and HD video plugins, we've got an optical, and we've got our headphones out.Now on to the Jensen we have mounted on the wall. This is the 28 inch, it's 1080p. This is pretty much a mirror image of the first Jensen we went over. So again, it's 12 volt, you're going to have to wire it in to your 12 volt system of your RV or Camper. The picture quality is pretty good, but when it comes to that viewing angle, again, looking straight on, it's going to give you the best picture, but the left and right side it kind of fades a little bit.On to the sound, we're going to have that great sound because of the speaker placement, it faces forward. The buttons are easily accessible, and it does have that metal frame, so it's going to be nice and sturdy.Up top, again, mirror image of the first Jensen. We can use an antenna, we've got a digital audio out, we've got our HD video and our standard video if we'd like. We've got a HDMI port here, one at the bottom, USB, and then left and right audio out for a sound bar.Now on to the Proscan. This is a 39 inch 720p. Now it's 110 volts, so it's going to have that common household two pronged plugin. This one's picture quality I thought was very good, very bright and crisp. The viewing angle, I can really sit from any angle and I'm not going to have any problems seeing what I'm watching. Now when it comes to the sound, the speakers are vented to the bottom. I didn't see any issue with this, the sound is very clear. Now the buttons are located here in the center underneath the screen, this is a bit of a hassle in my opinion. So as you can see with the TV sitting as it normally would, we can't really see what's going on underneath there, the buttons are going to be hard to access. As you can see it has all of the same connection points as most of the TVs with the addition of the PC audio in, the VGA, and a third HDMI port. Now the Proscan like the other TVs does include the remote, however, if you're interested in those composite cables, you'll have to pick up some separately. We sell them here at e-trailer.com.on to another Jensen TV. This is a 40 inch, it's 1080p. Now this one's 110 volt, so again we can plug it into our standard household outlet and we've got power. Now this one's picture is slightly blurry in my opinion, a little bit on the pixelated side again, but not enough to really throw it out. I can still watch TV on this and still enjoy it.When it came to the sound quality, I thought it was about average. Didn't have any problems turning it up and listening to it, and I can hear the audio just fine. Here on the bottom you can see the speakers are vented slightly towards the back. When it came to the viewing angle, I thought it was very wide, so we're going to be able to sit at any angle we'd like and see what we're watching just fine. The buttons are located on the right side just behind the screen. They are labeled, but as you can see it's going to be hard to see what you're doing from the front of the TV, unlike the other Jensen models where the buttons are in the front. We have our four screws for a wall mount if we'd like to add that. At the bottom we've actually installed a stand. You can pick that up right here at e-trailer.com. As far as the connection points, same as the other TVs. This one offers three HDMI ports. On to the next Jensen TV. This is a 19 inch, 720p. Now it's a 12 volt TV, so you'll have to wire it up with your RV or Camper's 12 volt system, not a big deal. Now right away what separates this one from the others, is that it has an onboard DVD player, you can see that located on the side. This is going to be great for maybe your kids room, maybe some other small places in your camper where you can power up a movie and watch it on there. Now as far as this TV, it's got great sound quality, it's got a great picture. I didn't have any issues with this one. The buttons are located just right on top, that way they're easily accessible, and they're all labeled. As far as the connection points, it does have pretty much the same ones as the other TVs, it does however feature just one HDMI port, which we're plugged into. When it comes to mounting it our wall, we've got our mount right here, and it does include feet so we don't need to worry about picking up a stand. For our last TV, this going to be the Furrion 25 inch, 720p. Now this is 110 volts, so we're going to be able to plug it right into that common household outlet. With this TV, as far as the picture quality, I thought it was just fine just like our last TV, not any issues there. But when it came to the sound quality, I didn't really think it was all that great, even with multiple volumes didn't think it got any better. As far as the buttons, are located on the left side just underneath the screen. They are labeled, but they're difficult to see, and the buttons are hard to get to. It's going to be difficult to see which button you're trying to hit. The speakers are vented just towards the bottom, the openings aren't very big, this could be a reason why it's not very loud.On the side here it only give us the option to plug into the standard composite cables here, and it only has one HDMI port. Now if you're checking out all of the TVs, if I had to choose my favorite brand, it would be Jensen all the way. It's going to give me the most and the best quality in my opinion. But with that being said, I hope this was helpful, that's going to complete our look at the best options for RV TVs.

Highly recommend for RV Boondocking! Amazingly great picture quality but didn’t give it 5 stars due to the sound being somewhat tinny. We did purchase a sound bar that fixes that issue when we’re plugged in. Appreciate the free shipping from etrailer and it arrived within days! 654619

TV works. Haven't had it long enough to evaluate how robust it is (placed in truck camper) but the service from etrailer was top notch! TV was back-ordered and Anna made every effort to find an alternative product. I decided to wait and the original ordered TV came in by expedited delivery so it wouldn't be sitting on porch while I was away. This type of service is rare today - especially on-line! Will be doing as much business with etrailer as possible going forward. 439596

This monitor was a drop-in OEM (JVC) replacement for the unit that came with our trailer. The TV came with all the necessary hardware and good instructions for attaching to the existing swing-out mount, and would have been fine even if it was an original installation. No complaints about the picture or sound quality. The TV required replacement because the plastic mounting panel on the back had cracked in number of places after just a couple of trips. If this unit does the same, then I would obviously downgrade my rating a bunch -- we'll see. 556088

The Jensen JTV32DC is a perfect fit for any RVer who wants to change out the factory model 12DC with a brand named TV. When I purchased this TV, it was meant to replace a smaller 12DC TV located in the sleeping area of my 25 foot long Class C RV. The picture quality is superior to the model that I had and my only regret is that I did not replace the 12DC TV with this similar model in the living are of the RV....but I am seriously thinking of doing so in the not too distant future. Highly recommended. 564894

Received TV and tested. TV seems to be working good. I will be installing this TV in our camper. I wanted to get my new travel trailer setup and ready to go. So when I placed the order for the TV and found out that it was out of stock, I was concerned about when I would receive the TV. Michael E. & Nikki R. did a fantastic job getting me my new TV. Great people to work with. 477361

We bought this TV as an addition to the Over Cab area of our 2017 Leprechaun RV. We compared it to the Furrion but this one has 1080P where the Furrion is only 720P. The TV and DVD work great and the picture is clear and excellent. The sound works well enough and is loud enough for the over cab viewing. Ordering was fast and easy and it was delivered in two days. Very happy with our purchase. 442741

This Jensen 19 inch tv arrived surprisingly fast, and in excellent condition. The packaging is probably the best I have ever seen. As long as the delivery driver does not run over the box, it will arrive in good shape! The tv looks great, but has not been installed yet, so I can’t comment on that at this time. 588990

Direct change-out for the factory supplied Jensen 19” TV. Be aware that if you do not have a 12 volt plug, you will have to obtain one as it is not included with the TV. Picture and sound quality are great. TV was carefully packaged and shipping went without a problem. Very satisfied. 525991

Nice RV TV! I purchased this to replace a small Jensen TV that came in my Keystone Bullet Premiere trailer. It was a perfect fit— just unbolted old TV and mounted new TV using included mounting bolts. The spacing was perfect and I didn’t even need to move the mount. TV set up is easy, picture is excellent, and the volume is plenty loud enough. Very pleased with this TV, Etrailer shipping was fast, and overall I’m a very happy customer! 481177

Review from a similar Jensen LED TV in RV TV

Arrived in three days and package was in good condition...like Christmas morning. The TV is built solid for RV extremes and mounted easily to the wall mount plate. Installation was straight forward and Setup Wizard was easy to follow. Unfortunately we do not have cable hookup for the RV when parked at home so we have to wait to see how the pic is but did connect radio/DVD system to TV and watch a few DVDs. Only downside was it took longer to download and print the manual than it took to install the TV. Leeza was great to work with during the ordering process, very helpful, knew her products and applications and followed up with a number of emails. GREAT customer service. 412463

Review from a similar Jensen LED TV in RV TV

This TV is pretty potent for such a little guy. It's well built and fairly low profile. Quality wise, it measures up to Vizio's televisions in the same size, and even surpasses some of them! It's also capable of a good volume output and can be heard in other rooms. It does come with a stand, but as it's a little short, I would recommend mounting it. (It has 4 holes in the back for this purpose. They'll fit a large variety of mounting systems designed for small televisions) I would recommend connecting the power adapter first however, as the power port is in a somewhat awkward location. (Directly underneath the upper inside lip and just above where the stand ends when it is on) and can be very hard to reach once mounted. It should really be moved whenever the new model is designed. The rest of the ports are much more accessible. 453855

I am very disappointed and find it hard to believe a complete power cord was not included with this tv. especially for the price. 542486

Comments

The power cord included with the television is meant to be hardwired to a 12-volt power source. If needed, a 12-volt plug like # A-200
Replacement 12-Volt DC Power Plug
$3.28
or a 120V adapter like # ACDC1911
AC/DC Power Adapter for Jensen Television
$22.27
is available separately. Because there are several ways of powering the TV, a plug isnt included.

4 stars for the TV (one start deduct because sound quality on these small tv’s isn’t great). 10 starts for Etrailer customer service. I originally ordered a furrion TV. It turned out to be backordered. Etrailer contacted me immediately and offered this Jensen as substitute that could be delivered within days. This tv was much less expensive and arrived in time for our next trip. Oddly the menu and setup screens of the Jensen are exactly the same as the Furrion. I mean exactly. Same icons same font, everything. So cheaper Tv, works the same. Nice work Etrailer. Thank you! 657326

Review from a similar Jensen LED TV in RV TV

I have owned this Jensen tv for a year now. It is in our travel trailer so it is not like we use it every day, but so far we have not had any problems with it. It has a good picture and sound quality is good. Etrailer has been a great company to do business with. I would recommend them and the Jensen TV 635450

Review from a similar Jensen LED TV in RV TV

The 12volt TV arrived in great condition. It was easy to install and works great. I use my RV in state and national park with no hookups and this is just perfect. The JTV32DC is very energy efficient and the picture and sound is very good. Etrailer was very easy to use and the TV arrived in just two days. 620193

Review from a similar Jensen LED TV in RV TV

My quick review is mainly for etrailer.....they are simply the best, I have not found many that can match their service. The TV is fine, but be aware the manual contradicts itself. It states that the TV speakers work when the L&R audio output terminals are hooked up page 16 in manual. But, then on page 23 .... it states that the tv speakers must be set to off before any audio will be output from the L&R output terminals. Normally I would lower the TV speakers when using an audio system, by doing this it gives me a little sound to replicate a front speaker, but I can not do that with this TV. But...etrailer is superb! 603417

Review from a similar Jensen LED TV in RV TV

I bought this tv to use outside under my gazebo where the hot tub sits the tv works great but the volume does not go very loud so I'm trying to find a weather proof sound bar that will work with this tv but am having some trouble with finding a weather proof one that will work with this tv. The tv only has RCA hookups for the sound. 589942

  • Troubleshooting Jensen TV in 2010 Travel Trailer
