You might not think of it, but a simple circuit tester can really save you from wasting your time and spare you a lot of aggravation. After your long journey to the campsite, before you do anything else, plug this circuit tester into the power pedestal and find out if you need to request a new site. It's not uncommon to find faulty wiring, especially at older campsites. Checking the power supply first will save you the headache finding out later that there are problems with the power outlet forcing you to pack up and move to a new location.
A good circuit tester can detect the most common electrical issues you might run into, letting you know if it's safe to plug in your RV. If all 3 green LEDs light up, you're good to go.
The key on the face of the surge protector will let you know about the presence of 9 other conditions, including "no power," reversed polarity, and open neutral. Regardless of the error you encounter, you'll want to get a new site and inform management of the situation.

Hi, everybody. Andy here with etrailer.com and today we're gonna take a look at this Mighty Cord RV circuit tester for 50-amp outlets. This circuit tester is going to plug into your 50 amp outlet at your campsite's power pedestal, and it's going to help identify potential wiring problems. The LEDs are going to illuminate in different patterns to indicate if power is steady or if you have a problem. And you can easily compare the LED lights to the legend on the front of the unit to determine up to nine errors. So you're gonna have everything that you need here to determine what's going on and decipher what the LED lights are indicating for you.
Let me go ahead and retrieve my ruler here and give you some overall measurements so you have an idea of the size of the unit itself. So looking at the overall height, we are sitting pretty close to four and a quarter inches tall. And the overall width right here at the widest point, we are sitting pretty close to two and five-eighths inches wide. And then the overall depth, including the prongs, we're sitting pretty close to two and three quarters inches deep. And as you can see, this includes this really nice portable carrying case.
It's pretty durable, it feels like, and pretty rugged. And so when you are not using the tester, you can just easily pop it into here. And as you can see there's a cutout for it and this is pretty well padded. So I think this is going to do a great job of protecting the tester while you have this in here and the zipper runs along all three sides of the case. It's even got a little strap here to carry this as well.
So this is a great addition. I'm gonna go ahead and give you some overall measurements of this. Beginning with the height, we're sitting at about three, three and a half inches tall or so. The camera angle's kind of skewing it just a little bit, so about three and a half inches tall. And then the overall width, we are sitting right at about five and three quarters inches wide.
And then the overall length, we are sitting right at about four and a quarter inches long. Now, this is gonna work with your 125 volt and 250 volt systems. And, again, this is going to be for your 50 amp outlets and if you are looking for a 30 amp tester as well, Mighty Cord has you covered with that. They do provide a 30 amp RV circuit tester. And on your screen, I am including our item number for the 30 amp tester if that's something that you are in need of as well, or instead of this, you can just take that item number and put it in the search field of our website and it will take you to that circuit tester for 30 amp outlets. Instructions are included with this and that's going to conclude our brief look today. I do hope that it was helpful for you. Again, my name is Andy. Thank you for joining me.
