Video Transcript for Review of Way Interglobal RV Stoves and Ovens - Griddle and Grill Outdoor Cooktop - WAY34FR

Ellen: Hey everybody. I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com and we're going to be taking a look at the Greystone RV outdoor Griddle and Grill top. This is a great addition to your RV camping setup. It's going to give you a really nice outdoor cooking spot. So you can use this as a griddle top, like as you see it here, or you can take this piece off and use the grill beneath it. So it really gives you a versatile cooking surface.

You can make bacon and eggs, pancakes, all kinds of good stuff, fry up some burgers, you can do chicken or whatever on the grill. It's a really nice system and gives you that versatility to do whatever you want. Pretty compact as well. Very simple to take apart and clean and get everything put away. So let's take a closer look and talk about some of those features. So up here, we'll have our griddle top.

You do want to make sure that you season this before you actually get to start cooking. So the way that you do that is you're just going to put. Probably a good idea to wash it off with a little mild soapy water first. And then once you get everything hooked up and it's all ready to go and all assembled, you'll want to season it by putting some oil on the surface, letting that get to smoke temperature, where it starts to smoke, and then let it kind of sit and start to discolor on the surface. You basically just pour a little bit of oil, move it around all the edges.

You want to get all the surfaces here and then let it get to that point. You don't want it to just get to the point where it's completely burning, but it just creates a polymerized layer of oil on the surface. And that helps it to be a nonstick surface. It's similar to what you do whenever you're seasoning a cast iron skillet. It's pretty much the exact same thing. You're just making a nice non-stick layer and bonding that oil with the metal to give you that kind of surface.

Once you've done, you've done that. You might do it a couple more times until you get a pretty much blackened surface on the top. The more you do the better it'll be in longer it'll last once you have it seasoned, again, you pretty much just treat it like a cast iron skillet. So, you don't really want to scrub it out so much as just like wipe it off, clean it up, and then maybe apply a little bit more oil over the top to keep everything nice and slick. The nice thing also that I like about this surface is that it has a little spot here in the front. So, whenever your frying things up, you can slide the oil over into this little hole here, this little drain hole, and that goes into the grease cup. You can take this out, clean it up, empty it out as you need to. So, that's the griddle top. If you want to use the grill top, you do have to remove the four screws that are going around. So I'll show you that. It's actually. Light the unit, you'll see the big knob there on the front. It's pretty simple once you get everything hooked up, you're just going to push this in and that'll start the gas flowing. And then once you turn it over, counter-clockwise, you'll hear that spring. That's going to be the sparker, and then it should be ignited from there you can adjust that gas to get the fire where you want it to be. You should be able to see the flames through there at the bottom. If it doesn't light right away, turn everything off, wait about five minutes, try it again. After you've checked everything to make sure there're no leaks or anything else, but you don't want to just sit there and try to keep sparking it or else you'll let more gas out. And that can be kind of dangerous. So, getting the griddle top off, not very hard, it's just going to have these screws to keep that in place. So, move those. And then you can just pop that off. And now you have your grill top. So you can use this just like you would any other kind of gas fired grill. So you can put your burgers, chicken, veggie burgers, whatever you want to put up here on that grill top to give you that other option for cooking. Whenever it comes time to take everything apart and clean things. Again, you can just lift off this grill. And there is a protective cover going over the burner. So you can also clean this. It's pretty easy to just lift out. And then we have that heating element down there at the bottom. So this is where our flame is actually going to come out beneath everything is a grease pan. So, it's going to catch all the crumbs, all the other grease that we didn't catch from our griddle pan or more likely if you're using this grill top, that's where everything's going to go put this back on top.And that's that just slides out from the bottom. So, that's one thing that I really like about this is that it's pretty compact, but also really easy to take apart and clean everything up. That grease tray just slides right out of the bottom. The worst part about that is sometimes it can kind of scrape against itself. And it sounds terrible cause it's that metal on metal sound, but not really much you can do about that.As far as the other specs, I'll give you some measurements here just for reference. You do want to make sure that wherever you choose to mount this up and start cooking, that you give yourself plenty of room between anything that might be combustible. They say that you should give it at least 36 inches or three feet on all sides, just to make sure that you're not going to have any issues. So stay away from anything that's going to be flammable and make sure that you're putting this on a nice, steady surface. So, as far as those measurements go, width-wise, it's about 17 and a half inches. For the height, with the griddle top, it's about eight and five inches tall. And then front to back, if we include the knob and our gas fitting it's about 19 and a half inches deep. The BTU rating is 1200, excuse me, 12,000. And this does have an inlet gas pressure of 13 inches WC for the max. The cooktop is porcelain coated. The front of our actual unit is stainless steel. So, it should last you a long time. And that's pretty much all there is to it for our look at the Greystone RV outdoor Griddle and Grill. I hope this has been helpful in the setting of this is going to be the right option for you. We do have a lot of other options and accessories here at etrailer.com for all kinds of RV needs. So check them out. Thanks for watching.
