Video Transcript for Prest-O-Fit 2-Piece Step Rug Set for Lippert Solid Step RV Steps Spec Review

Hi everybody. Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a look at this Prest-O-Fit Brown 2-piece Step Rug Set for your Lippert Solid Step RV steps. Now this rug set is going to wrap around each of the two steps on your Lippert Solid Step RV steps with the 20 and 1/8 inch wide steps. On your screen, for your reference, I am including the model number of these steps that this step rug set is going to fit. And if you notice here I do have the top step rug installed, the bottom one, I do not, so I can walk you through that installation process.

The installation of this step rug is gonna be very similar to our top step rug here. Now this material is made of heavy duty, UV protected outdoor turf that's going to be resistant to fading as well as to mold and mildew. And these strong bristle fibers are going to do a great job of removing dirt and debris from the bottom of your shoes. So that's gonna mean less sweeping and mopping inside of your RV or camper, which is always a great thing. Then when it's time to clean off these rugs, if you get 'em dirty with mud, you can just take a garden hose and spray them off real good, let 'em air dry, and you're gonna be good to go.

Now a few benefits that these step rugs offer is first, if you are in inclement weather and it's been raining, maybe even a little bit of snow or something like that, that could make these metal steps a little bit slippery, with you having these step rugs on there, that's going to give you added traction and more confidence as you're making your way up and down these steps. But then also they're going to be really perfect for your pets as it covers these hard metallic uninviting steps that could potentially scare them off. So you get quite a bit of benefit from having something like this on your steps. Now let me take this one off here and show you what's going on underneath. Now on the flip side here, underneath here, we have a textured rubberized back, which is going to help keep them in place along with some other additional methods of securing them in place.

You're going to have hook and loop fasteners that you can apply with, and then also the star of the show here are the steel springs. These steel springs are rust resistant, they're zinc plated, and they're gonna help you easily detach the step rugs and reattach them. So these aren't going to be a permanent install for you. If you do need to remove them, it's not going to be difficult at all. So these are gonna really hold firmly in place with all of the securing methods that's included with each step rug.

So let me go ahead and walk you through that process and let me show you what's going to be going on underneath the step. So I'm gonna take this spring that has a hook on either end, and I'm just going to be hooking them together just like that. So that's what I'm going to attempt to do underneath the step. Now in my opinion, when you install these, I think it's going to be easier to raise the step up, so you can actually see what, you know, so you can actually see when you're hooking these springs through. So I'm unable to do that. So I'm gonna try to just kind of feel my way through the installation as I'm hooking this, hooking these springs through the holes. So I've already got that first one in. Let's see if I can get the second one in here, as I'm making my way down, I'm gonna find that second hole there. So I'm just popping the hook into place there in that hole, just like that. And then connecting it to the hole on the opposite side. And these springs are going to provide just enough tension to hold each of these step rugs in place. So you're not gonna have to worry about them slipping or coming undone, especially when you're walking up and down them. They're gonna hold securely in place. Got that second one in. See if I can get this third one in. And what's nice too is the springs are going to do a great job of resisting corrosion, so they're not going to rust or anything like that, and then break over time. Put the third one in, see if I can get this fourth one in. So again, I think it's going to be easier if you can actually see what you're doing, but even going this way here, I'm able to get it done rather quickly. Okay, so we got all four springs in. Keep in mind, I did not apply the hook and loop fasteners, but even with just those springs installed, this is holding very firmly. It's not moving at all on that step platform. So these, again, these are gonna hold up really well for you. So no screws, no glue, no tools, a relatively easy installation, and you're gonna be good to go. Instructions will be included on the back of the packaging to walk you through that installation process. Again, these are in brown, Prest-O-Fit calls it a buckskin brown, but we also offer these in black and they call it obsidian black, and I have an example of what that black one's going to look like there in comparison with the brown one there.
