The D-spud outlet lets you attach a handheld shower set (sold separately) to make cleaning mud and sand off the kids, pets, and shower walls even easier.
To install, use the inlet shanks to drop the new valve and deck plate in place of your existing valve. Then hand-tighten the included mounting nuts against the back of the wall, and connect the hot and cold water lines. You'll need to keep some tub and tile caulk (not included) on hand to help prevent any leaking.

Today we're going to be taking a look at the Phoenix faucets four inch dual handle RV shower valve. This unit replaces a shower valve in your RV. It's going to feature the dual acrylic knobs and gives the unit a really nice, clean look. Got nice finger indentations on there, gives it a very easy grip design which makes it a lot easier to use. They're also going to have the H and C which is going to stand for hot and cold, has the visual indicators on there. Now, here at this point, this is where you would connect your handheld shower hose. This is called a D-spud connector or D-spud outlet. It's different than a vacuum breaker. If your unit's equipped with a D-spud, you want to make sure the units point up instead of down.
This is designed for attaching the handheld shower. Handheld shower's not included. The unit's also designed to prevent water back flow which is going to help prevent contamination of your fresh water supply. The unit's made from a plastic construction. The base has a nice chrome finish. The matting area does require two holes for installation. These connectors are separated on center by 4 inches.
They're going to give us a length measurement of 2 inches. Outer diameter on those threaded connectors, that's going to be 13/16th of an inch with an inter diameter of around 1/2 inch. The init also comes with a backing plate. It's going to come with the plastic threaded mounting nuts, makes installation very quick and easy. The shower hose connector that D-spud outlet's going to give us an outer diameter of 13/16th of an inch as well. Taking a look at the overall dimensions, starting with the overall length. This unit's going to give us a length measurement from edge to edge, just over 6 inches, maybe 6 1/8 to 6 1/4. Measuring the base going this direction, we're looking at about 2 1/8.
Then from the back of the base to the outer most point of the hand knob, we're looking at about 3 inches. Again, pretty simple installation. It does come with installation instructions. It's going to walk you through the installation process. You're going to need two 1 inch diameter holes separated on center by about 4 inches. Then the unit's going to need to be installed 45-48 inches above the floor line. All that's indicated in here. On this side it's going to have some trouble shooting tips, operating instructions, cleaning tips, helpful hints, and just some cautions. On the back you're going to notice a parts list.
