Today, we're going to be taking a look at Valterra 3" 45 degree waste valve hose adapter. This is going to fit all standard black waste valve systems with bayonet style fittings. This adapter actually features the four hook design. It's going to offer a nice, tight, secure connection point. It also fits 3" standard diameter hoses, so the hose would slide over the slip end. It would secure to the adapter using a hose clamp.
A 3" clamp. Clamp's not included. If you need one, you can find them a etrailer.com. On this end, it does have the appropriate seal. This is a Santoprene seal for leak proof performance.
The unit's made from a durable black, plastic construction. Take a measurement of the outer diameter here on this side. It's going to measure just under 3", again that's designed to slide into a 3" diameter hose. Internal diameter here on the bayonet end. It's going to measure right on 3 1/2".

All was exactly what I ordered and the ABs adapter worked perfect on my 3" ABS pipe. The ABS cement (glue) worked well too. All was well with the 10' sewer hose, but the 15' hose has a problem with one of the swivel ends not rotating; it feels like it is stuck tight and will not rotate as designed. Not a large deal but that is the end that dumps into the septic system at the dump station. All the pieces a seem to be good quality. The 10' sewer hose is 26 mil and the 15' sewer hose is 25 mil. All in all, changing my system over from the old Thetford style connector to the new style by cutting off my sewer connector and using the glue on adapter fitting from etrailer really worked out well. Now if I can just get that swivel end working as designed...
I really like the Valterra fittings for RV sewer hoses- they have four bayonet lugs and a thick neoprene gasket which make for a more secure connection. Have not had a Valterra fitting leak at all from either the hose to fitting or fitting to RV and dump site. The same cannot be said for the other brands I've purchased. I rated this particular fitting as a four star because it seemed to be somewhat larger in diameter than previous purchases of the same brand. It was a challenge to install the fitting into the heavy duty sewer hose i purchased.
I would like to see some manufacturer make a short 90 degree fitting for this application.
