Ellen: Hey everyone. I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com. Today we're taking a look at the exterior evacuation drain trap. This is designed to let you drain your sink or your shower to an external tank, or just outside to a hose on your RV. If you don't want to have your water draining into an onboard water tank, or you've not set up for that, this is going to be that part that you need to get everything drained out to an external location.So it's going to have our fitting here. This is going to be a barb fitting that measures three quarters of an inch in diameter, and then our standard strainer connection fits a one and three quarter inch diameter, that's going to be the inside measurement of those threads there.
There are two mounting locations on either side, or one mounting location on either side. It's got these little nodes coming off of it, and this is also going to be sort of a check valve to make sure that water doesn't come back up.As far as the overall length is about 3 1/2" Long. The top here is about 2 3/4" in diameter. Our fitting comes off by about a 1/2", so it's going to be, or it's going to be 3/4", so it's about 3 1/2" long overall. Now you're seeing our fitting about 3/8" there.

I used this drain trap to replace the identical trap on my new popup camper sink as the original unit leaked. The actual problem was that the original hose clamp was tightened too tight and deformed the discharge tube. I also have an additional trap for backup.
