How Often Should I Clean My RV's Roof?
It is recommended that you clean the roof at least 2 to 3 times per year. LaSalle Bristol membranes do not require any special cleaners for maintenance. You can use typical household cleaners - something non-abrasive, used with a medium-bristled scrub brush. It's also a good time to check the seals around the rooftop accessories and edges of the roof. If you find damage or something that may compromise the integrity of the structure, you can apply more sealant until it is either time to take something down and reseal it entirely or time to replace the whole RV roof.
How Often Should I Replace/Reseal My RV's Roof?
Most RV roofs will last around 20 years, but after about 10 years, it's a good idea to start looking closely for leaks, cracks, or other damage that may lead to replacement of the entire roof. For the best results, and the longest-lasting roof, it's best to check the seals and edges of the rooftop at least once a year.
How Do I Replace My RV's Roof?
You will need a few tools to install the membrane on your RV's roof. These include butyl tape, adhesive, sealant, a neoprene head squeegee (for no streaks in membrane surface), and a utility knife.
To begin, remove all your rooftop accessories - A/C units, vents, fans, etc. - and clean off the rooftop. After you have applied the adhesive and laid the membrane flat, squeegee out the air bubbles that will inevitably form, and cut off any extra material hanging from the sides of the RV. Using a utility knife, cut out the areas where your rooftop accessories will be installed and place them in their respective positions. From there, you can apply butyl tape, self-leveling sealant, and non-sag sealant to finish off the installation process.

Great customer service
easy to install, nice to work with
This product is absolutely amazing. It was super easy to put down and is incredibly strong material. I will definitely use this product again.
It was 4 ft short
Easy to use and made roof repair simple.
Good so far
when you remove the old roof be prepare to do more unexpected repairs but it is all worth it at the end. the new roof looks clean and feel this will last another 10-15 years.
So far so good after 1 year. Not super hard to install. Took about 35-40 hrs solo on a 36 ft fifth wheel. This is the roof material I will use from here on.
Excellent product. Terrible retailer. Be warned, this is a long story....
I have been in the retail gig for most of my adult working life. Buying from suppliers, stocking items and selling to customers at a counter, on the internet, and over the phone, is something I know some things about. I was fortunate enough to have an early employment experience with a crummy online retailer.
One very sly and convenient thing this crummy retailer taught me was how to sell to customers over the phone and/or via an online store. To ensure a sale, it is important that the customer believes you have the item in stock and that it will ship right away. To do this, you simply state that the item is "in stock." Then, when they pay you, you make the special order for actual fulfillment in a couple days. To appease the customer momentarily, you buy and print the appropriate shipping label. Then, once the special order arrives in 3-5 days, you apply the label and it goes! Meanwhile, the customer may be getting impatient. And it's right about that time that the parcel tracking starts showing movement!
Well, this is what I suspect happened with Etrailer. I ordered an "in stock" item and remained skeptically patient. Turns out, it did not ship right away. Proving my skepticism. Instead, it supposedly shipped a week later due to "internal error." - Via Neil W. & Eric P.
Because of my initial and continued skepticism, I waited to order my second $500 order until I was assured my first order was handled and shipped appropriately. I was assured by Neil W. that it was shipped and I would get an update from the carrier in a couple days. So I ordered my second package.... Welp! When that parcel
arrived, it was not only packaged with incorrect contents, some of them were damaged!
And the initial order that Neil assured me shipped hadn't still! It was all a lie!
I was told my damaged product would be replaced and shipping info provided. I'm still waiting on that shipping info 36+ hours later. Time will tell. But I have my suspicions.
This is my fault. I am the fool for trusting an online retailer. I know better. Now hopefully you will also.
It is not as tear resistant as lasalle bristol claims also not a fan of there glue next time will maybe try the dicor glue. However the best part is how much cooler it stays than epdm. My rubber roof would get so hot it would burn your hand and make my rv an oven. This stuff stays much cooler
I did a lot of research and settled on installing a PVC membrane. etrailer made the research and decision process simple and efficient. I really like the videos they have on the product page, it helped with making the decision. I just received the product and waiting for the rain to break and I will install it.
Install went smoothly on our 38 foot rv. There’s a reason shops charge so much because every step is so tedious. However it’s soooo worth it to do it ourself. We saved thousands by replacing it ourselves and it’s comforting knowing our 2007 fifth wheel has a year old roof! 100% recommend this roofing membrane!
Excellent product very easy to install and seems to hold up well
So far it's been great! Don't kid yourself, it's a lot of work to do it yourself but I love the smooth PVC and I believe it has made my rig a lot cooler! So easy to clean, just spray it off!
Once again, etrailer had what we needed at the right price. And quick delivery! Very knowledgeable staff as well.
This product looks great. My installer said this is a very good product.
Product applied very well. Unfortunately for me I had to install outside in 90 degree weather and windy by myself. Would recommend renting indoor space if you can find.
This roof membrane has exceeded our expectations. It was extremely easy to install using the recommended adhesive. Cleaning it is simple and accomplished with very little effort. I highly recommend this product and will reorder if and when needed.
This is an excellent product. Much thicker and a higher quality than the TPO roof that was on my 2017 Coachmen Freelander class C motorhome. The adhesive and caulking that La Salle Bristol provides is great! Just take your time and do it right. This isn't a quick project, but you will be pleased with the results. Thanks again!
your products were everything I expecte d.
The membrane is nice and heavy and seems to be quite tough.
I was very satisfied with the membrane. It was thick and strong.
