Michael: Hi there. I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today, we're going to take a quick look at the Alpha Systems Trim Grade QTDG Tape for RVs. Now this may look similar to butyl tape and it serves a similar function, but it is slightly different. So this is a malleable tape that's going to create a watertight seal around your windows, doors and trim pieces on your RV. It adheres to just about any surface, including metal, fiberglass, wood, plastic, glass, painted surfaces.

Just about any clean and dry surface, this is going to adhere to. This is a non-drying compound that is formulated to trim easily from molded surfaces without the use of a blade. So it's going to be great for around your fender skirt or your sidewalls, where using a sharp blade to trim could damage the area. So this is going to be a nice option for areas that you want to be more careful with.This material is very stable, so once you have it compressed between your two pieces, it's not going to expand or contract with the change in the temperature. This does come in different varieties, different sizes.

This one you can see is right about one inch wide. It's a little bulged out there, but it's one inch wide and three eights of an inch thick, so pretty thick there. Gives you lots of material to squish down in between your two surfaces. Now to get this applied, you are going to press the tape to one of your surfaces. Then remove this backing here and then adhere the second surface there.

Push it up against each other to create a nice tight seal. You can then remove any of the excess tape and just easily trim it off with any kind of putty knife or something that's not going to hurt the surrounding surface.You could even use your fingernail if you wanted, depending on your application. You can see this is a dark gray color, so it's going to work well for those dark applications. Now you are only going to get 10 feet of this tape. So depending on your application, that may be just enough for you, may be a little bit too little, but we do have lots of options here at etrailer.com.

We've got some that are a little bit wider, more narrow, some a little thicker, thinner. So you have lots of options, choices to make sure that you're getting the right setup for your system. I think this is a simple product that's going to allow you to make sure that your surfaces are adhering and are water tight. You're not going to have to worry about causing damage to the surrounding area when you're trying to trim off the excess, so I think this is going to be a great option for you.
