Video Transcript for Everchill RV Refrigerator Review

Hi there RV'ers. Today we're going to be taking a look at Ever Chill's 10 cubit foot refrigerator with freezer. They're available in either a 12 volt or a 120 volt application. The 120 volt will require a 120 volts to run so you'll either have to have your generator operation or you'll have to be plugged into a power supply at your camp site. The 12 volt can run off of your motor home's batteries so that's going to be ideal for off the grid. My favorite thing is it's size.

With 10 cubit feet there's plenty of room for you and your family. And the freezer on top is great for those perishable items such as meats and then you can also store ice inside so you can have a cold drink and ice cream. Now, you're probably thinking, "Well don't most RVs already come with a fridge" And you're right they do but if you're looking to add extra storage to your existing RV, looking to replace a broken unit, or you're restoring an old RV and you need a fridge for it this is going to be a great option with plenty of storage space. And the next question you're probably asking yourself is, "Well what makes an RV fridge different from a regular fridge I can buy at my local store" Well, the local store fridges are designed to be in your house which is stationary all the time. RV fridges are extra durable with more rugged interior components to withstand the vibrations of being driven down the road frequently. Additionally, there's anti vibration dampening technology inside for all of the moving components.

And finally, this fridge has a flush back which allows you to push it close up against the wall to save more space inside of your tightly compacted RV.One of the first things you'll notice is the large storage shelf you'll have on the door. You have a place for soda, condiments, and even a milk shelf. Down here at the bottom we have our crisper. The drawer here has an adjustable humidity bar at the top for the type of fruits or vegetables you have inside. There are two adjustable shelves with several different options for height adjustments.

At the top here we've got our LED light to make it easy to see inside at night and our adjustable thermostat. And then, in our freezer you'll see we have one adjustable shelf with three different height options. We've got two storage shelves on our door. And our thermostat is located here at the back center of the fridge. While both the 12 and 120 volt fridges are identical in most ways the 120 volt is going to be a higher wattage fridge so it will keep your food overall colder than what the 12 volt does. That's not saying the 12 volt's not going to keep it cold enough but if you would like to really freeze it down cold 120 is going to give you that extra output.

The fridge has a black and stainless steel finish so it's going to look great in any RV or camper. Both the freezer and refrigerator door are going to be reversible and you get all of the hardware you need included with it to swap those around. So, wherever the fridge will fit you can be ensured that the door will open the direction it needs to to get inside.Speaking of fit, many of our customers have asked if it comes with any mounting hardware. And while it doesn't come with any mounting hardware it's designed to fit underneath your cabinets and between your counters to keep it nice and secure. To help get your fridge in position and sit level there's adjustable feet located at the corners in the front and there are wheels located in the corners at the rear. When your fridge arrives it'll come in a box that looks similar to this. After you've cut your straps surrounding your box you'll actually want to lift the box off up the unit, you don't want to open it from the side. Now, you may need an extra set of hands to help you get it through the door. It is pretty large. Our doorway here as a reference is about 24 inches wide and you can see it's going to fit right in. And that completes our look at Ever Chill's 10 cubit foot refrigerator with a freezer.

Ask the Experts about this Everchill RV Refrigerators

Do you have a question about this RV Refrigerator?

  • How Are Large Refrigerators Powered When Dry Camping
  • Refrigerators do draw a pretty considerable amount of amperage to stay on and keep the food cool. The only way you'd be able to keep it running in a dry camp would be with a generator like the etrailer generator part # 333-0003. I'd go with a 120 volt setup instead like the # 324-000118 since generators in general put out more amperage for this configuration over 12 volt.

  • Power Requirements of Everchill 120V 324-000118 RV Refrigerator
  • Everchill recommends using a pure sine wave inverter to ensure a clean and consistent power supply to the compressor of the # 324-000118 refrigerator. The refrigerator draws 2.5 amps which would convert to 300 running watts. Multiply that by 3 to get the necessary wattage for compressor start-up, which would be 900 watts. So, in order to power your refrigerator you'll need an absolute minimum of a 900 watt inverter. This assumes that the refrigerator is all you're wanting to power with...

  • Clearance Required for Everchill Refrigerator # 324-000118
  • I spoke with my contact at Everchill regarding the RV Refrigerator # 324-000118 referenced in your question. For this unit you just need to have at least 1 inch of clearance between the back and sides to allow for proper ventillation.

  • Can An Everchill Refrigerator Be Hooked Up To Both 12 Volt and 120 Volt
  • The Everchill Refrigerator for RVs part # 324-000119 is designed to run on 12 volts so no, it would not work on a 120 volt system. However, I do have an option for this in the Everchill Refrigerator for RVs part # 324-000118 which is designed to run on 120 volts but can be converted to 12 volts using the Go Power Industrial Pure Sine Wave Inverter part # 34279948. I am not aware of a refrigerator that can switch back and forth between 12 volts and 120 volts without a separate inverter...

  • Is Everchill Refrigerator 324-000119 a Good Fit for a Class A RV and are Mounting Brackets Included
  • The Everchill fridge # 324-000119 is a fine addition to any RV or trailer. The model you referenced, # 324-000119, is designed to run off of 12 volt power. If you need one that runs off or 120 volt AC power it is # 324-000118. These do not come with mounting brackets according to the manufacturer. They say that the counters and cabinets around it will keep the fridge in place. They are 23-1/2" wide x 24-3/4" deep x 59-5/8" tall so the hole would have to be slightly larger than that.

  • What is Power Source for Everchill Refrigerator for RVs # 324-000118
  • The Everchill Refrigerator for RVs # 324-000118 only operates on electric. 115 AC volts to be specific.

  • What is the Warranty On This RV Refrigerator and Is a Mounting Kit Required?
  • The Everchill Refrigerator for RVs - Frost Free - Top Freezer - Stainless Steel - 10 Cu Ft - 120V # 324-000118 comes with a one year warranty. I reached out to the manufacturer and there is not any mounting kit available as they said the countertop and cabinets should hold the unit in place when installed correctly.

  • How To Turn Off the Power on a 120 Volt Everchill RV Refrigerator
  • In order to turn off the Everchill Refrigerator part # 324-000118 you would just need to simply remove the power plug from your outlet. There is a temperature adjustment knob inside of the fridge but this would still draw power even on the lowest setting. There isn't an on off switch for the unit either therefore if you want to completely cut power you would just need to unplug it from the outlet. Please note there is a 12 volt version of the above, part # 324-000119 which could then...

  • Noise Level of Everchill 12V Refrigerator
  • The Everchill 12V Refrigerator # 324-000119 has a sound output of about 34 to 42 decibels. It's hard to provide a specific comparison to standard 120V or gas units as it's going to be dependent on the particular model/size but by comparison the average household (120V) refrigerator typically is around 50 decibels when running. A whisper is usually 20 to 30 decibels.

  • Lowest Outside Temperature Everchill Refrigerators Will Work At
  • The Everchill refrigerators, like the 12V # 324-000119 or 120V # 324-000118, will work until the temperature goes below 25 degrees Fahrenheit. So these will work below freezing, but not by much. I confirmed this with my contact at Everchill.

  • Inverter Needed To Power Everchill 115V Refrigerator When Traveling
  • The Everchill Refrigerator for RVs part # 324-000118 may stay cold during the day after you have it plugged into shore power at night if you do not open the refrigerator when it is unplugged but it is best to run an inverter when you are traveling. I recommend Go Power Industrial Pure Sine Wave Inverter part # 34279948 which will be plenty of enough wattage to power the Everchill Refrigerator and allow it to be powered with your RV 12V power when you are traveling. When you have the...

  • Could Everchill Refrigerator for RVs # 324-000118 be Powered by Inverter
  • The Everchill Refrigerator for RVs # 324-000118 that you referenced requires AC power. If all you have is DC power you would need an inverter capable of providing 115 AC volts with 2.5 amps of current draw to keep it powered in transit.

  • How to Determine if Everchill Refrigerator for RVs Will Replace Dometic Refrigerator
  • As long as you have room for the 23-1/2" wide x 24-3/4" deep x 59-1/2" tall Everchill Refrigerator # 324-000118 and you have provisions to power it via 120V then this unit will do a great job to replace your Dometic 9CU RM3962LBFX refrigerator! I reached out to my contact at Everchill and they said that the fridge operates around 34 - 36 degrees (Fahrenheit) but can get down to 33 if desired. The freezer runs between 0 and -10 degrees (Fahrenheit) depending on the setting.
