Video Transcript for Epicord RV Power Cord with Handle Review

What's going on, everybody. Adam here with etrailer today. We're going to be taking a look at the Epicord RV power cord but specifically the 30 amp, 125 volt power cord. They're going to come in a bunch of different sizes. We have the twenty-five foot here but it's also going to come in 30. First thing you want to do is identify what port your camper or travel trailer has.

And right here, it should just basically say it flat out. So we have a 30 amp, 125 volt, and then you open it up. We have the three prongs and it is the twist lock, which is awesome. And it is threaded as well, So we can utilize the threaded portion here. So step one, identify your plugs.

Step two, find the cord you want. And then of course step three is finding the length that you need. So we're going to push this in, rotate it and then thread this on. That's going to give it a nice seal, So no water is going to get in there. And also if you're kind of wandering around at night and you trip over this it's not going to unplug and turn everything off.

So that's always a plus. One thing, It was actually pretty nice to twist this. So some of them are just coming straight out. This one has a nice 90 degree so that makes it really easy to get a good grip and make sure it's nice and tight. It's a pretty durable cord, but it is pretty elastic.

So it's not really going to bind up on you a whole lot. It's definitely a little bit easier to use then maybe a garden hose. They usually give me a decent amount of trouble but it really wants to go back to the nice coiled up position that it was whenever we got it. So that's always nice. I don't think she'll chew through this really thick, rubber coating. I mean, if you leave it connected maybe drag it down the highway that might do it but it is extremely thick. So it's not going to be eaten through by any kind of critters or anything like that. It'll take them a long time. So depending on your situation, if you're going to a campsite that you're always used to going to, you know how much length you need that's going to give you an idea of how much you need, So just choose accordingly. But if your campgrounds allow a generator like this I would definitely recommend a longer cord maybe the 30, maybe the 36 just to get it as far away from your camper as possible. So you don't hear it. And then of course, if you're just one that kind of travels all over the place, the longer, the better because you want to be prepared for whatever happens. On the male end, we're going to have another 90 degree. I really liked that just because the cord is not going to be sagging putting all that pressure on whatever you're hooking it up to. And it does also have a easy way to pull it out with the other one it's pretty easy to do. With this one You don't have to really kind of grab it and kind of wiggle it back and forth. That'll eventually start to wear down your components. With this you just pull it straight out and you're ready to go. When it comes to power cords they're all kind of the same to me. This one, doesn't have the led indicators. That's not too important to me but it does have the easy grip handles and the 90 degrees, which is what I like. But again, these are going to just fit any 30 amp hookup. They're all pretty much a standard. And when it comes to the cord quality and the plug quality I just like how it's easier to pull out. And these aren't lacking in quality at all. They are just as thick as all the other 30 amp ones and they have a really thick coating. So they're going to last you a very long time. And that just about does it for a look at the epi cord, 30 amp, 125 volt RV power cord..

I have used this for over a year now and it works now as well as it did out of the box. The terminals are solid and it locks in well with the locking ring. The slight angle makes it a breeze to hook and unhook. I would recommend this product to anyone.

As usual, my order, an RV power cord, arrived promptly and as described. etrailer is my go to source for everything RV and trailer related and they have never disappointed. If ever there is a problem ( not likely) there is always someone on the other end of the phone to help. These folks are awesome. I have suspension upgrades on my F350 to handle a slide in camper. Everything I installed was good quality, the installation was as described and whenever I had a dumb question there was someone there to answer it. Buy with confidence from these folks. I don't know how to let y'all know I am an actual customer but if there is a way, I'll do it. Also, I have not taken any photos of stuff from etrailer yet, 'cause I am lazy but, I will get around to it.

The female twist plug does not quite fit the male twist plug on my motor home, OR the handle is molded incorrectly. In my perfect engineering world, when the twist is complete, the handle should be vertical, or 6:00. Not so with this unit, handle is about 5:30. The male three prong end needed some tweaking also as it would stay connected . I had to bend the flat prongs outward to provide enough friction for it to stay connected. I understand now, why etrailer's price structure is what it is. For a few pennies more, you could have a quality product.

Pleased with it. I had searched online for a few hours to find the exact cord for my camper. I live in a land locked town in Alaska and none of the marine, hardware or auto stores had this particular power cord. It came in a few days late but it wasn't a big deal. Over all happy with my purchase.

I haven’t had a chance to use the extension cord, yet from what I can see it is everything as advertised. I will use it as a connection for my new camper van when I’m at campgrounds that offer services. The length will be perfect to store as opposed to the more common longer lengths.

  • 15-Amp Male to 30-Amp Female Power Adapter
It sounds like you're looking for an adapter or cord that has a standard household 15-amp male connector on one end and a 30-amp female on the other. Standard household male plugs as found on extension cords are rated for 15-amp service. If you click on the link I included for you all such adapters and cords can be seen. For example, Furrion part # F1530ADSS has a standard 15-amp household male plug on one side and a 30-amp female twist-lock on the other and has a longer body than most...

The 30-amp RV power cord products we offer, such as the Epicord RV Power Cord with Handle # 277-000145, use the same standardized NEMA TT-30P type plugs. These connectors have their three conductors arrayed in a circular pattern as shown in the photo I linked for you. I also linked our main page for RV wiring products. Here you can see all 30-amp and 50-amp wiring products. 50-amp cords like # A10-5025EH use a different 4-conductor pattern.

  • Recommendation for Adding AC Unit to Small Enclosed Trailer
The best option we have available for your converted enclosed camper is the Advent Air RV Air Conditioner # ACM135BC because it's going to provide the most efficient cooling solution for the camper's interior during those hot summer months. We do not have any smaller AC units available and anything smaller we offer will be something like a powered ceiling fan vent which will only work to circulate air around the camper and not actually cool it down.
