Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, I'm gonna take a look at this Bauer Products Right Hand European Style RV Entry Door Lock. Now, this is a nice European-style locking latch that'll let you replace the existing latch that's on your RV's entry door. This one has a nice handle shape that's easier and more comfortable to use than the traditional paddle style that's often used on RVs. This one being the European-style, you can see has a nice squeezed handle. All you have to do is squeeze the handle and that'll open the door with minimal effort.

You can see, when you squeeze the handle, the latch will open. And this does use dual cylinders so it'll let you lock the handle. And down here, you can lock the deadbolt separately. Now, the locking the handle will close it outside to the visitors, but you can still freely open it from the inside. And just to show you what we're talking about, it comes with the two keys here.

So you put your key in there and you turn it a quarter of a turn and release it. Then the latch is locked. So when you squeeze it, it won't move anything. But if you're on the inside, you can still push that lever down to release it. So even though it's locked on the outside, on the inside, you can still get out.

And also what's nice, right below, right here there is a deadbolt. So if you're on the inside, you can switch this, turn it down and you can see the deadbolt comes out. Turn it up pointing to Open, and the deadbolt goes in. And then, again, the same on the outside. You can use the key, same key if you put it into the lock there.

And again, you can turn it this way and the deadbolt will come out. And if you turn it the other way, it'll unlock it. So this way, the deadbolt'll lock, and this way, it'll unlock. So the same two keys work for the same dual cylinders. Now, it does use a nice foam-rubber gasket right here around the whole part of the lock that'll install up against your door. It creates a nice tight seal to keep out the elements and the pest. And this has a nice die-cut zinc construction. It has a nice matte black finish to it. Now, it is a very easy installation. It has the four screws here. You just screwed into your standard door handle cutout with the hardware that's included. And as we've mentioned, this is a right-hand configuration, so it will install on left side of the door's exterior. Now, it does include the door edge plate, which I've already installed on the door lock. And it even comes with the door striker plate that'll attach to your RV door frame. Now, they don't include any hardware with this door striker plate because it depends on what material you'll be the attaching this to. So you will have to supply the hardware for that. And this can be keyed alike to match other Bauer RV locks in the AE Series locks. Basically, to order keyed alike, you'd just select Keyed Alike from the dropdown menu that's on this product page, and enter the number of locks in the quantity box. A few specs, again, this is a right-hand door configuration. It installs in the left side of the door's exterior. Dimensions on this, the overall height if we go from the bottom to the very top right up here, you can see it's gonna be about 4 1/2 tall. The width, we measure it from here to this end, so it's going to be right at 6 1/2 inches wide. And the cutout dimension, in other words, this section here that'll go into your door, it's going to be 2 3/4 inches tall by 3 3/4 inches wide. And the maximum door thickness this will fit into is 1 1/2 inches. But, again, we have the handle locked. And we just put our key in, turn it to unlock it. And then you can see, just by squeezing the handle, that'll operate your door handle.
