Optronics ILL24 Series LED 6 Inch Dome Light Dimensions

Raw Lumens vs. Effective Lumens

Lumens are used to measure the amount of usable light that is put out by a light source. Raw lumens represent the number of lumens that the manufacturer claims the LEDs are capable of producing. It does not include the light's drive method or the amount of light lost from the lens or reflector. Effective lumens take these factors into account and represent the number of lumens that are actually produced by the complete light assembly, not just the amount of light that the diodes are capable of producing. This light has a 585 raw lumen capacity and produces 453 effective lumens.

Video Transcript for Optronics LED Domed Utility Light Installation

Today on our enclosed trailer, were going to be installing the Optronics LED Domed Utility Light in a six-inch round design with white LEDs and a clear lens, part number ILL24CB. Heres what our Optronics LED Light looks like. Its got two wires that come off the back, white wire is the ground, the black wire is the power wire. It has three little holes drilled already in the light for mounting it. Now were going to be adding it here to the backside of the back wall of this utility trailer. Now this trailer already has some other interior lights so were just going to be running a line off the power wire for those.

Back here, well be tying in the black wire to it and taking our white wire, adding a ring terminal and just grounding it to the trailers frame. Now well go ahead and run our power wire back here to our location and then we can go ahead and mount our light. Heres the power wire in our trailer and its run over to a switch right over here on the wall. The switch right here controls another light thats already in our trailer. Well go ahead and come up here to our power wire and well go ahead and cut our power wire in half, strip some wire back on both sides. Well go ahead and take our piece of wire that were going to be adding in and routing to the back where our new Optronics Light will be going.

Well go ahead and connect these two together. Im just going to use a butt connector to do that. Well go ahead and put a little bit of tape around our connection points to secure it and protect it. Now with our wire added in, we can go ahead and route it to the rear of our trailer. There are some other wires that run to the rear of the trailer thats already sitting up here. Now depending on your particular trailer, you may have to route the wire a little differently.

Now that we have our power wire brought back to the area that we want to put our light in, were going need to remove a couple little things first. On our trailer, well need to take this little piece of trim off or at least remove it a little bit so that we can gain some access. Now with our piece pulled back, we can feed that in there. Well drill a hole through our plywood that well be able to feed our wires in and then make our connections. Now that we have our trim panel loose, well go ahead and hold our light back up. Well go ahead and pick a location here on the wall.

Were going need to drill a hole through the wood on this one so that our white and black wire can go through. Were going need to add a ring terminal to the white wire here. Well go ahead and slide our ring terminal down onto it and then we can crimp it down. Next to make things a little bit easier, were going to go ahead and take my power wire that I ran from the front of the trailer here towards the back and Im going to fish it behind the wall and make it come out my hole here. Im going to go ahead and cut off the extra wire here, go ahead and strip back some wire on this side, then go ahead and add our butt connector in. Well need the butt connector and the ring terminal and the extra wire do not come with the Optronics Light. You will need to supply that. Again, depending on your exact trailer, you may need some additional hardware as well. Well go ahead then and connect the black wire off of our light to our butt connector. To make things a little bit easier, Im going to tape my ring terminal to the black wire so that when I pull the wire back through the wall, I can grab it up high. Now that we have our wires pulled up into place, were going to go ahead and take a self-tapping screw, go through the ring terminal and secure the white wire to the trailers frame. Next were going to go ahead and put a little bit of electrical tape around our connector just to help protect it some more. Now we can go ahead and put our interior panels back on. Well secure them back down if we remove any screws. Next were going to use three screws in the pre-drilled holes to secure our light to the wall. Now that we have our light nice and secured to the wall, lets go ahead and show you what it looks like. Well go ahead and close up the rear door of our trailer so you can see what it looks like when its dark inside. Heres what our light looks like in the on position. Keep in mind there is another light in this trailer already. Ill go ahead and turn out the light. The trailer is dark inside. When you flip the light on, now we have light at both the rear of the trailer as well as the front where an existing light already was installed. That will do it for the installation of the Optronics LED Domed Utility Light in a six-inch round part number ILL24CB on our enclosed trailer. .

Lights received on time and in great shape. I tested one. I'm pleased with the brightness. I expect to use six in a 7 x 16 work trailer. 485252

Because there is a video of almost every product etrailer sells I can make an informed decision every time I purchase a product. No other site I'm aware of offers this - I think it's fantastic. etrailer is now my go to source for replacement and upgrade parts for my trailer. Thank you etrailer for developing and maintaining an extraordinary online shopping experience 464799

I bought the LED lights as a Christmas gift for my son for his trailer. He hooked them up and now it's daylight in his trailer. It has made his workdays much brighter (pun intended). They are more impressive than I anticipated and he is thrilled. 319524

The lights remain the best I have seen in any trailer. We have had no problems with them and they make the trailer bright as day. Thanks for caring how your product works.

  • Recommended Interior Light for Horse Trailer
I recommend the Peterson Interior and Compartment Light, part # 433600. If strategically mounted in your horse trailer it should provide you with plenty of light. If your trailer has a 6 or 7 way trailer connector you would want to find the 12 volt accessory wire that is on the connector and use that as the power source for part # 433600. Typically this wire will be black, and will have 12 volts of power present at the connector if your tow vehicle is turned on or not. The light...

  • Bright Interior Light Recommendation for Interior of Box Truck
My favorite interior light that I would recommend for you is the part # ILL08COB. This light is super bright and since it uses LEDs instead of incandescent bulbs it hardly draws any amperage as well. I attached a review video for you to check out as well.

  • Can 2 LED Domed Utility/Multipurpose Lights Light Up a 24 Foot Box Truck
The utility light # ILL24CB has 36 diodes so it will be on the bright side. Two of them will probably provide a decent amount of light but 3 would be better especially if light is essential. Attaching the lights to the ceiling using a high grade automotive type of double-sided tape would suffice. What I recommend is to use self-taping screws, like # 101131802, so you will not have to drill and then just seal the holes with a sealant like # 0160297. It would be best to attach screws to...

  • Bright Interior Lights for a 20 Foot Enclosed Snowmobile Trailer
For a 20 foot trailer, I would definitely go with multiple units of whatever light you choose. The LED light you referenced, # ILL24CB, would be a good choice if you are using more than one. A diode count of 24 combined with the white light and clear lens will be bright, but not 20-foot-trailer bright for a single light. I would do at least 4 spaced evenly apart, one for each snowmobile position in the trailer.

  • Which Optronics Utility Light is Brighter Between the # ILL24CB and the # ILL22CB
The Optronics # ILL24CB is going to be brighter than the Optronics # ILL22CB. In the videos and photos they are of the lights installed on different trailers and mounting locations so yes, it is very hard to tell. The # ILL22CB is also being demonstrated in an all white trailer with the interior of the installation bay's lights on, which white carries light so this could explain why it appears brighter. We are limited to installation videos on customer requests so while they are...

  • Does the LED Domed Utility/Multipurpose Light # ILL24CB Have a Switch
The LED Domed Utility/Multipurpose Light, # ILL24CB, does not have a built-in on/off switch. You could wire a switch in-line with the dome lights wiring using # BL0108-00. Or you can use an incandescent light that has a built-in switch like # 390S.

  • Number of Diodes on the Domed Utility Light ILL24CB
I pulled one of the Multipurpose Utility Light, part # ILL24CB from the warehouse and manually counted the diodes. There are a total of 36 diodes in the light in three rings, one of 18, one of 12 and one of 6.

  • Adding 4 LED Dome Lights Causes 20 Amp Fuse to Blow In Truck
Even using 4 of LED light # ILL24CB would only produce about 1/2 of 1 amp. The fact that the 4th light is causing fuses to blow indicates to me that there is likely a short. Although it is weird that it doesn't blow the 15 amp fuse (unless the 15 amp is a slow-blow fuse). I would go with the smallest fuse you can get that is greater than 0.5 amps. Check the wiring where the 4th light is installed including the ground and make sure there are no pinched or frayed wires touching bare metal...

  • Comparing Optronics LED Dome Lights ILL24CB and ILL39CB for Use in Ice House
Both of the Optronics LED dome lights you referenced, 24-diode # ILL24CB and 39-diode # ILL39CB, feature sealed water-resistant housings, a lifetime warranty on their LEDs and superior electrical efficiency - using about one-tenth the power of standard incandescent lights. The advantages of the # ILL39CB are that it can work in both 12V and 24V systems and that it includes a built-in low voltage cut-off (when the battery's output drops to 11 volts) to prevent battery drain. Unless you...

For LED Domed Utility/Multipurpose Light # ILL24CB there are 2 lumen ratings. One is the raw lumen output which is the rating in perfect conditions. • Is Optronics Ultra-Thin 11 Diode LED Utility Light, Part # BUL69CB, Bright Enough for Utility Use?
The Optronics Ultra-Thin 11 Diode LED Utility Light, Part # BUL69CB, is intended for use as a general purpose trailer utility light. Typically most clearance/marker light assemblies are amber in color and only use between 2 and 6 diodes; this utility light uses 11 diodes. Its sealed and waterproof 1-piece compact housing makes it ideal for use on the exterior of your horse trailer. LED-type lights use only a small fraction of the power required by incandescent bulbs, and this unit...

  • Interior 12 Volt LED Light Recommendation for a 7 x 14 Foot Enclosed Trailer
The LED RV Interior Light, # ILL31CB, runs off of a 12 volt DC system. It actually draws 0.107 amps at 12.8 volts. It will not work on a 110 volt AC system. This light is a surface mount light meaning the light will not be flush with the wall or ceiling once installed, it will stick out some. But part of the light from the mounting surface will need to be recessed into the wall. I would do at least 2 rows of 3 running the length of the trailer. A better option for a true surface mount...

  • Recommended Interior LED Lights for 24-Foot Car Hauler Trailer
For a 24-foot enclosed car hauler trailer I recommend at least three lights on the ceiling and possibly also one or two on the trailer's side walls to give you some illumination of the car's interior and to help when you're securing it in the trailer. Optronics part # RVILL34 is an 18-LED oval surface-mount light that includes a switch, a nice feature if you'd like to be able to control the lights individually. For a large (6-inch) round light without switching you can use domed light...

Six of the RV LED interior light # ILL31CB should provide adequate light for your trailer. More so than the incandescent bulbs in # 30-76-243. What I recommend though is to go with the LED 24 diode light # ILL24CB. The additional diodes will provide even more light than the 10 diodes in the light you referenced. Another option would be the LED Domed Utility Light, # ILL24CB. Two or three of these should provide sufficient lighting for your trailer. You would also need to wire them together, and run them to a switch, like # BL0108-00.
