inverter

This 12V inverter, with built-in transfer switch, changes DC output from your RV batteries into AC power and sends it to the electrical system. Using pure sine wave technology, it creates clean power with low distortion, making it safe, efficient, and perfect for sensitive electronics like computers. The inverter can generate 2,000 starting watts and 1,000 running watts which is a great fit for appliances and electronics. Additionally, with the integrated transfer switch, it will automatically change from inverter to shore power when available.

Functions and Features

To connect your AC loads, the inverter includes hardwired input and output terminals. It also has positive and negative DC terminals that connect to your batteries. Lastly, there is a port for the included fixed-mount remote. The system includes a number of safety features. It has a reverse polarity protection that will protect the converter if the battery is hooked up incorrectly. Additionally, the unit includes protection for overvoltage, undervoltage, and overloading which can damage your equipment, as well as the converter. The built-in cooling fan also removes excess heat from the unit. The fan speed is proportional to the internal temperature on the converter, so when the power demand is low, the fan will operate quietly. For additional safety, installing a 200-amp fuse (sold separately) between the battery bank and the inverter will protect your equipment from power surges.

Built-In Transfer Switch Automatically Switches to Shore Power

The integrated transfer switch selects the primary source of 120V AC current. This switch has been pre-wired to automatically change from inverter to shore power to conserve battery life. It includes a 20-amp leg rated at 135V. Additionally, since the switch only accepts one active source, it protects your electrical system from dangerous backfeed that can damage your equipment.

Fixed-Mount Remote Provides Easy Monitoring and Control

inverter remote

The fixed-mount remote lets you monitor and control the inverter from inside your RV. It includes a digital display that shows voltage, output power, error codes, and a low battery indicator. It also has a power button to turn the inverter on and off.

How It Installs

The inverter mounts inside your RV in a dry location with ventilation. It should be installed close to the battery bank, but not in the same compartment.

The DC terminals are wired to the battery bank.

inverter terminals

There are several ways to connect the inverter to your RV's electrical system, but this will depend on your rig and how you want to use your inverter. If your RV's distribution panel only has one leg, a subpanel will be needed for installation. You will also need a 100-amp circuit breaker between the inverter and battery positive post. Two 20-amp circuit breakers will be needed to channel AC power from the main panel into the inverter and then out into the subpanel.

Seems like a very solid reliable unit. I replaced 300W unit with this 1000W and added an outlet with 2 USB chargers so I could charge our laptop and phones when not on shore power or generator power. The remote is also a nice feature with useful information at your fingertips. Installation of the inverter and the remote were straight forward well illustrated with measurements for the remote.

Review from a similar Inteli-Power in RV Inverters

I had my son-in-law who is an electrician install the converter. The converter is working good and the battery charge was really good. I believe that the water pump pressure was the best I had in a long time which indicates how well the battery is charged. The reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is that I think that a better manual could of come with the converter. When I connected the battery there was a green flashing light that I didn't know what it meant but after an internet search I found out what it meant. E-trailer was great to deal with, fast service and answered my questions quickly,

Review from a similar Inteli-Power in RV Inverters

The only reason I gave this a 4 is because of the way that it was packaged for shipment. The item itself is a clear 5 stars. It came crammed in a box with no padding whatsoever alongside a 30lb 36' 50a cord. Luckily there was no damage to the unit itself. Also didn't come with the two extra wires that it said it did, I could have used them but worked around it. Install was a breeze. I upgraded my travel trailer from a 30 amp with a WFCO WF-8955PEC to this unit. It took around 3-3.5 hours from start to finish. Would highly recommend this unit to anybody looking to upgrade their 30amp service. The only thing that would make this nut better is if they removed the slide lock Romex holes in the back and made it to where you could add you're own locks in. I had to fight it a couple times to get my wires where I wanted them. 10/10 would recommend.

Review from a similar Inteli-Power in RV Inverters

The Progressive Dynamic 80 amp lithium charger is a great product. Charges the lithium batteries very fast. Its a simple well built charger converter. I've used it for about 8 months now. I used to own a 40 amp Progressive Dynamic regular battery charger converter on my previous rv. It worked great for the 12 or so years I owned it.

Comments
Have used this charger for past year. No problems or complaints. Does a great job.

Review from a similar Inteli-Power in RV Inverters

There is obviously a manufacturing issue with the circuit board of the PD4135 converter charger. When I received the first one that I had ordered, I went to switch the converter to lithium battery operation, and noticed that the bottom pin of switch S1 was not soldered to the circuit board pad. E-trailer promptly sent me a replacement converter which I received today. The first thing I did was to check the solder on switch S1. The picture shows the switch in the condition received (exact same issue). I will be looking at a different solution for my converter/charger needs.

Review from a similar Inteli-Power in RV Inverters

So far I think this unit is perfect for my cargo trailer conversion. It was simple to install and for the money you can hardly build something similar. I took off one star however since the S1 switch for Lithium battery charging was not properly soldered to the board (one leg had detached). I was able to fix it easily enough but not everyone is comfortable soldering surface mount components on a PCB.

Review from a similar Inteli-Power in RV Inverters

I purchased this unit as a backup incase my original one had problems after I changed my AGM batteries for my new Lithiums. So far the original unit is doing well, but I am glad to have this one in these times of shortages. The part that really concerns me was that it was the only thing in the box that traveled with UPS for four days. No packaging material was securing the plastic unit inside, nothing to keep it from bouncing around inside. Thankfully it arrived without damage, I am surprised.

All wired in and seems to be a great product. Installing was pretty simple if you have any clue about electrical. Make sure you look at the install directions on the product page. The ones with the unit aren’t real good. Would have given 5 stars, but this transaction with etrailer was the worst I’ve had. Typically receive orders in 2-3 days. It took 2 weeks to the day to get this one. It posted shipped the day I ordered. A week later 2 phone calls and an email it finally showed up in their local post office.

Review from a similar Inteli-Power in RV Inverters

Since I just finished installing this converter late today, I don't have any operational history on which to rate it, thus the Average rating. I do have a couple comments about the product itself. 1.I believe the PD4135K would be ideal for a small travel trailer or a van conversion with few powered features. In my case I have a fully loaded 2002 Roadtrek 190. The OEM supplied documentation listed an Elixer 4500 Converter, however that was substituted or later replaced with a Centurion 3000 Converter which was no longer keeping the RV battery charged. The Centurion unit had 9 usable fused 12VDC circuits while the PD4135K has 7 total and 6 usable for distribution. Compounding this issue was the fact that the Centurion unit had three fused circuits with two separate and different loads connected - a definite No-No for safety's sake. The solution was to install an Auxiliary Fuse Block and feed it from F2 on the PD4135K. The pig tailed leads on the PD4135K were a definite asset in this type of installation. 2. My installation required the use of all three dual 120VAC Breakers (6 circuits) which leaves very little room for wiring within that small compartment. While difficult, it can be done, though I suspect doing so pushes the NEC to the limit. I'll make two suggestions for anyone contemplating such a project. First, consider carefully the number of circuits(both 120 VAC and 12VDC)you need to accommodate without doubling up. It may be worthwhile to purchase a higher amperage rated converter to get the needed circuits and additional room for wiring. Second, mark every wire with a unique number before disconnecting it and record that number along with the circuit's function and fuse rating. Wire markers are available at your local [online]. As well, white adhesive tape and a black marking pen works fine. Doing this may save you time and later frustration. THIS REVIEW AND PICTURES EMAILED!

Review from a similar Inteli-Power in RV Inverters

Based on other reviews, I received this product about as expected. Shipping took a very long time, this took 9 days to arrive after notification of shipping. The product was not packed very well, it does not have any visible damage from shipping though, which was a concern considering how the box looked. There are no instructions with the product. As expected, the lithium/AGM switch has a damaged solder joint. Over-all if there was another similar product from any other vendor available, I would have bought something else. At this time I'm not aware of anything else in stock, so this will do and I will make the needed repairs to make it work. It will be replacing the current control panel in our camper so we are able to charge LiFePO batteries.

Review from a similar Inteli-Power in RV Inverters

I have a few comments for e-trailer. -When I called to get the optional neutral bus bar for the AC side of this center, the rep did not know what I was talking about. Maybe y'all can just send me that. -I attached pictures of how my product was boxed/shipped. It is hard to stop the carrier from damaging the box which was somewhat mangled. But the unit was not packed with any foam, plastic bag or packing material to protect it during shipping. It was just tossed in a box. It looked as if the cover and the converter bounced around inside the box. Hopefully, Etrailer packs future shipments better.

Unfortunately this converter was not a “drop-in” replacement (as advertised by PD) for the existing converter in my trailer. It’s actual dimensions are larger and would not fit in my existing converter space. I should have double checked the specs. More disconcerting was that it was shipped without the factory packaging and manuals by etrailer. It came in a box with paper padding that seemed inadequate to protect sensitive electronics. etrailer needs to do better than this.

Because the World Friends converter in our little Guy Mini Max was beginning to fail, I ordered a PD 4135; Quinn very helpfully took my order. Unfortunately, the new converter had no 12VDC output. Kailey promptly made arrangements for a warranty replacement. When I had trouble downloading the UPS return shipping label, Jamie guided the necessary process. I know problems sometimes occur with anything that is purchased, but etrailer has met and overcome the challenges. The new PD 4135 is working very well. Thank you, etrailer.

Worked perfect with my four 100 AH Lithium batteries.... Stock Winnebago charger was a weak 30 amps @ 13.2 V.....this baby delivers 80 amps @ 14.4 V. which reduces generator runtime on cloudy days when the roof solar is not producing. Had to change the 15 amp RV panel breaker to 20 amps...no big deal...I'm happy with this purchase.

Review from a similar Inteli-Power in RV Inverters

Works as advertised. I can charge two 100 AH LiFePo-4 batteries with no trouble at all. Just make sure you use decent gauge wire because this charger is a beast! Smaller gauged wire will heat up due to the amount of current this thing delivers. It does constant current charging and then switches to constant voltage to top off the battery. Well worth the money!

Quality product. Great phone support from Progressive Dynamics. Replaced a WFCO unit and needed some clarification on the wiring ... needed to wire the 12V main power lines slightly different than the WFCO, but support clarified how to do it! eTrailer and YouTube videos also helped!

I replaced the WFCO 8735 with this PD4135. I have very little electrical experience. I found the little S1 switch the moved it to the "on" position (for lithium). I studied, took photos and tagged every wire. It worked out great. I so happy. It makes my battery happy too.

Review from a similar Inteli-Power in RV Inverters

I got the product in the mail and there was no manual with it. I emailed Etrailer and two people responded immediately and sent attached files for it. (Thanks to both Robert and Rachel). I installed the unit this morning. Very similar to the original one in the camper so it was easy to do the replacement. I did have to put in a 1/2” spacer of wood in the hole as sizes weren’t identical but once the cover was snapped in it dosen’t show. The only thing I was surprised by was the tiny toggle switch to set it to lithium charging was a lot harder to toggle than I expected, but it didn’t break off the circuit board when switching. Both the customer service and product were great, as they have been on every order I have placed with these guys. So now all I have left to do is take this thing camping and see if switching everything over to lithium batteries was as worthwhile as I have heard about!
