This 12V inverter, with built-in transfer switch, changes DC output from your RV batteries into AC power and sends it to the electrical system. Using pure sine wave technology, it creates clean power with low distortion, making it safe, efficient, and perfect for sensitive electronics like computers. The inverter can generate 3,600 starting watts and 1,800 running watts which is a great fit for appliances and electronics. Additionally, with the integrated transfer switch, it will automatically change from inverter to shore power when available.


Functions and Features

To connect your AC loads, the inverter includes hardwired input and output terminals. It also has positive and negative DC terminals that connect to your batteries. Lastly, there is a port for the included fixed-mount remote. The system includes a number of safety features. It has a reverse polarity protection that will protect the converter if the battery is hooked up incorrectly. Additionally, the unit includes protection for overvoltage, undervoltage, and overloading which can damage your equipment, as well as the converter. The built-in cooling fan also removes excess heat from the unit. The fan speed is proportional to the internal temperature on the converter, so when the power demand is low, the fan will operate quietly. For additional safety, installing a 200-amp fuse (sold separately) between the battery bank and the inverter will protect your equipment from power surges.


Built-In Transfer Switch Automatically Switches to Shore Power

The integrated transfer switch selects the primary source of 120V AC current. This switch has been pre-wired to automatically change from inverter to shore power to conserve battery life. It includes a 20-amp leg rated at 135V. Additionally, since the switch only accepts one active source, it protects your electrical system from dangerous backfeed that can damage your equipment.


Fixed-Mount Remote Provides Easy Monitoring and Control

The fixed-mount remote lets you monitor and control the inverter from inside your RV. It includes a digital display that shows voltage, output power, error codes, and a low battery indicator. It also has a power button to turn the inverter on and off.


How It Installs

The inverter mounts inside your RV in a dry location with ventilation. It should be installed close to the battery bank, but not in the same compartment.

The DC terminals are wired to the battery bank.


There are several ways to connect the inverter to your RV's electrical system, but this will depend on your rig and how you want to use your inverter. If your RV's distribution panel only has one leg, a subpanel will be needed for installation. You will also need a 100-amp circuit breaker between the inverter and battery positive post. Two 20-amp circuit breakers will be needed to channel AC power from the main panel into the inverter and then out into the subpanel.

Excellent! I've been using two PD 9270 units in my two Vanagons for over 15 years. So when I switched to Lithium Batteries in one of my Vans, I chose the PD 9160 ALV. And again, flawless operation that didn't require me to go to some menu to change settings. I've monitored the charging process using a popular shunt based blue tooth battery monitor and was able to confirm a perfect operation of the charging profile. As an extra bonus, this unit was exactly the same physical size as the PD 9270 it replaced. There were no modifications needed to do the swap.
I have been watching people online complaining about other chargers while getting lost with the menu changes required.
I couldn't be happier.

As described, quick delivery. I checked the S1 switch upon delivery after problems others had encountered with the switch solder joints, mine had no defects. Installation was pretty straightforward. I will agree with other reviewers in that the included instructions are a little lacking. Worked as advertised, pleasantly surprised with how quiet the unit is.

I had my son-in-law who is an electrician install the converter. The converter is working good and the battery charge was really good. I believe that the water pump pressure was the best I had in a long time which indicates how well the battery is charged.

The reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is that I think that a better manual could of come with the converter. When I connected the battery there was a green flashing light that I didn't know what it meant but after an internet search I found out what it meant.
E-trailer was great to deal with, fast service and answered my questions quickly,

The converter was easy to match up to my old converter. It had all the exact same connections. Getting to the converter however was a bit of a challenge. Once I gained access, it was still in a relatively tight squeeze area but with a little carefulness, I was able to remove one wire at a time and reconnect the new converter. Of course to get to the electrical outlet for the converter I needed to pull out the entire breaker panel so while I was at it, I decided to be sure all the panel lugs were tightened as well. The final step before turning any power on was to reconnect the battery. The entire process took just a little over 30 minutes. Power to the RV was turned on, each circuit tested and voila, the RV is back up again and the battery is charging. Hooray!! It would have been nice if there was an instruction sheet and what tools were needed for the project but I made due.

The converter is still working just fine and since its beginning to get cold, we are keeping the RV plugged in to shore power and running small electric heaters to keep it above freezing. Sure wish I could figure out how to identify a heater issue now.

The instructions for installing converter was excellent. Every step was clear and as I followed them it was clear what was going on. The total time from installing the unit to completion was about 45 minutes. This also included cleaning battery terminals and dressing all cables.

Based on other reviews, I received this product about as expected. Shipping took a very long time, this took 9 days to arrive after notification of shipping. The product was not packed very well, it does not have any visible damage from shipping though, which was a concern considering how the box looked. There are no instructions with the product. As expected, the lithium/AGM switch has a damaged solder joint.
Over-all if there was another similar product from any other vendor available, I would have bought something else. At this time I'm not aware of anything else in stock, so this will do and I will make the needed repairs to make it work. It will be replacing the current control panel in our camper so we are able to charge LiFePO batteries.

The only reason I gave this a 4 is because of the way that it was packaged for shipment. The item itself is a clear 5 stars.

It came crammed in a box with no padding whatsoever alongside a 30lb 36' 50a cord. Luckily there was no damage to the unit itself. Also didn't come with the two extra wires that it said it did, I could have used them but worked around it.

Install was a breeze. I upgraded my travel trailer from a 30 amp with a WFCO WF-8955PEC to this unit. It took around 3-3.5 hours from start to finish.

Would highly recommend this unit to anybody looking to upgrade their 30amp service.

The only thing that would make this nut better is if they removed the slide lock Romex holes in the back and made it to where you could add you're own locks in. I had to fight it a couple times to get my wires where I wanted them.

10/10 would recommend.

My old converter was struggling to charge my lithium ion battery so I found this and took a shot. It seemed like my old converter, made for lead acid batteries, could charge the battery, but soooo slow and it seemed like the batteries would drain down to 30-50% every time we came to a travel day. I installed this and boom, instant 14+ volts going to the batteries and charged them to 100% so fast. Then once charged it dropped back to 13.6 volts in rest mode. The converter is a lot quieter than my prior one and the fan hardly ever kicks on. So happy I bought this. Shipping was faster than something else I order the same day on [online retailer]! etrailer has got their shipping department on lock down!!

There is obviously a manufacturing issue with the circuit board of the PD4135 converter charger. When I received the first one that I had ordered, I went to switch the converter to lithium battery operation, and noticed that the bottom pin of switch S1 was not soldered to the circuit board pad. E-trailer promptly sent me a replacement converter which I received today. The first thing I did was to check the solder on switch S1. The picture shows the switch in the condition received (exact same issue). I will be looking at a different solution for my converter/charger needs.

So far I think this unit is perfect for my cargo trailer conversion. It was simple to install and for the money you can hardly build something similar. I took off one star however since the S1 switch for Lithium battery charging was not properly soldered to the board (one leg had detached). I was able to fix it easily enough but not everyone is comfortable soldering surface mount components on a PCB.

We live in our rv full time and the installation of this power inverter was a great upgrade. I needed one that would charge our lithium batteries while plugged in ana it has worked flawlessly. It is a little smaller then the old outdated one, but was easy to remedy.

The Progressive Dynamic 80 amp lithium charger is a great product. Charges the lithium batteries very fast. Its a simple well built charger converter. I've used it for about 8 months now.

I used to own a 40 amp Progressive Dynamic regular battery charger converter on my previous rv. It worked great for the 12 or so years I owned it.

This power center was easy to install and seems to be working well. However, the wiring diagram on the back of it is small and difficult to read. Maybe I am missing it, but there does not seem to be a buss to connect negative 12v wires to. I think I will have to purchase one separately and install it behind the cabinet the power center is attached to.
