This 12V inverter changes DC output from your RV batteries into AC power and sends it to the electrical system. Using modified sine wave technology, it creates a stepped waveform that simulates AC power. This is perfect for resistive loads like electric heaters and toasters. Functions and Features

The inverter includes 4 standard North American outlets for AC loads, positive and negative DC input terminals that connect to your batteries, USB port for charging small electronic devices, and a port for a fixed-mount remote (sold separately).


Built-in safety features help protect your RV's electrical system. They offer protection from over/under voltage and overloading. The inverter also uses a heat sink process to protect from extreme temperatures, and an internal cooling fan removes excess heat from the unit.

For additional safety, installing a fuse between the battery bank and the inverter will protect your equipment from power surges. The Go Power 400-amp fuse block (sold separately) works with this unit and uses a slow blow time-delay feature to withstand surge current. This means it can handle short surges over 400 amps without blowing the fuse, which is great for devices with motors that require more energy to start.


How It Installs

The inverter mounts inside your RV in a dry location with ventilation. It should be installed in close proximity to the battery bank, but not in the same compartment. The DC terminals are wired to the battery bank. There are several ways to connect the inverter to your RV's electrical system, but this will depend on your rig and how you want to use your inverter.

Speaker 1: Today we're going to take a look at the Go Power 12 volt, 3,000 watt heavy duty modified sine wave inverter. Now this inverter will convert incoming DC battery power to usable AC household power wherever you go. The heavy duty modified sine wave inverter offers AC power, which is perfect for large loads like a microwave or other medium size electronics. Runs any device in the wattage range without interference. This is all in a nice heavy duty steel case. It does have the four standard AC outlets you can see here.

Has the one USB port. Right next to it, it has one remote port, that's for the use with the optional remote control unit. Has a digital display right here which will show battery voltage and wattage. You just have a display switch that will switch it from voltage to wattage. I am going to demonstrate that display to show you how bright it is and how it hooks up in a minute here.It does have an on and off switch and it does offer full overload protection.

It is compatible with 12 volt systems. The continuous output power on this is 3,000 watts. The peak surge power is 6,000 watts. AC output voltage is 100 volts to 120 volts. Input voltage range is 10 and a half volts to 16 volts DC.

Again, the AC output wave form is modified sine wave. Maximum efficiency on this is 80%. The battery drain with no AC load is less than or equal to 1.2 amps. It does offer a low battery alarm and a low battery shut down. It includes the inverter and a nice users manual that'll describe how to install it and how to use it.The weight on this is about 10 and a half pounds.

Dimensions on this, I'm going to give you the length and when I measure the length it's going to be from here to the edge of the post. So total overall length edge to the end of the post is going to be 12 and a half inches long. The width on it from here to here is going to be right at 10 inches wide and the depth on it, from here to the very top is going to be right at four and 1/8 inches deep.So again what I'm going to do is we've got some 12 volt power here, so we'll go ahead and hook up our 12 volt power. And with it hooked up, I'm going to zoom in here just so you can see the display, digital display better. There you go and we'll just go ahead and turn the switch on and once it goes on you can see it's reading the voltage right now and then if you want to switch it over, it's not going to show anything but it will do watts and then it's back to voltage. And then we'll just go ahead and turn the switch off. And we'll zoom back out, disconnect it. But that should do it for the review on the Go Power 12 volt, 3,000 watt heavy duty modified sine wave inverter.

This does not have a transfer switch like you mentioned that you'd run to a breaker panel/converter.
