pure sine wave inverter

This 12V inverter changes DC output from your RV batteries into AC power and sends it to the electrical system. Using pure sine wave technology, it creates clean power with low distortion, making it safe, efficient, and perfect for sensitive electronics like computers. Plus, the inverter can generate 6,000 starting watts and 3,000 running watts which is a great fit for larger appliances and electronics.

Functions and Features

outlets and terminals on inverter

The inverter includes a hardwire AC terminal for AC loads, positive and negative DC input terminals that connect to your batteries, and a port for a fixed-mount remote (sold separately). It has a function switch that lets you select different output voltages (100V, 110V, 115V, and 120V) and frequencies (50Hz and 60Hz). This switch can also turn the power saver on and off. Additionally, the power saving adjustment dial near the function switch sets the input and wake up thresholds for the power saver.

The system includes a number of safety features. It offers protection from over/under voltage, overloading, and overcurrent. The inverter also uses a heat sink process to protect from extreme temperatures, and an internal cooling fan removes excess heat from the unit.

fuse block

For additional safety, installing a fuse between the battery bank and the inverter will protect your equipment from power surges. The Go Power 400-amp fuse block (sold separately) works with this unit and uses a slow blow time-delay feature to withstand surge current. This means it can handle short surges over 400 amps without blowing the fuse, which is great for devices with motors that require more energy to start.

How It Installs

The inverter mounts inside your RV in a dry location with ventilation. It should be installed in close proximity to the battery bank, but not in the same compartment. The DC terminals are wired to the battery bank. There are several ways to connect the inverter to your RV's electrical system, but this will depend on your rig and how you want to use your inverter.

Available Fixed-Mount Remotes Provide Easy Monitoring and Control

There are 2 fixed-mount remotes (sold separately) that let you monitor and control the inverter from inside your RV.

GP-SWR-A inverter remote

For a simple, no-frills option, the Go Power GP-SWR-A Inverter Remote lets you turn your inverter on and off from inside your RV. It also has a LED which indicates the inverter's status.

GP-ISW-R-12 inverter remote

For additional features, the Go Power GP-ISW-R-12 Inverter Remote provides LED indicators that display the voltage, output power, inverter status, power saving mode status, and fault conditions. It also has a power button that controls the inverter.

Video Transcript for Go Power RV Inverters - Pure Sine Wave Inverter - 34278157 Review

Speaker 1: Today we're going to look at the Go Power 12 volt, 3,000 watt industrial Pure Sine wave inverter. Now this inverter will convert incoming DC battery power to usable AC household power where you go. This is an industrial Pure Sine wave inverter, offers the exact replica of AC power for your portable electronic equipment. It's perfect for large loads capable of powering multiple appliances and electronics. And it'll run any device in the wattage range without interference. It is a lower profile design. Just want to show you on the ends, the features on each end.

Right here, you can see has the on and off switch. Right here is an AC output socket or terminal. Over here, has a power safe function switch, and right next to it a power save adjustment mode. Underneath, you'll see three LEDs, those are the function LEDs. On the other end, you'll see right over here, you'll have a remote control port and terminal right underneath it.Has the chassis ground right down here.

And it has the DC input connectors. Now I've already installed the terminal covers just to show you what they look like installed. This will give you full overload protection. It is compatible with 12 volt systems. Continuous output power is 3,000 watts.

Peak surge power is 6,000 watts. AC output voltage is 100 volts to 120 volts. Input voltage range is 10-1/2 volts to 16-1/2 DC. Again, the AC output wave form is Pure Sine wave.Maximum efficiency on this is 90%, and the battery drain with no AC load is less than or equal to 3.8 amps. Does offer a low battery alarm, and low battery shut down.

It includes everything shown here, the inverter itself, the two ring lugs that'll be attached to your wires, or your battery cables, that'll allow you to install it to this end here. The DC terminal covers that I've already mentioned that I've installed them on there. And a nice user's manual. That'll describe how to install everything, and how it all operates.Weight on this is about 18 pounds. The dimension, the length, including these terminal covers is going to be about 17-3/8 inches long. Total width on it, going to be right down here where it mounts, 10-1/16 of an inch wide. And the total depth, bottom to the top, is 6-1/4 inches deep. But that should do it for the review on the Go Power 12 volt, 3,000 watt industrial Pure Sine wave inverter.

Review from a similar Pure Sine Wave in RV Inverters

Ordered Monday night at 6:30 pm and it showed up Thursday at noon with the free shipping option. Can’t beat that! Now I get to install over the weekend instead of waiting until the original arrival date of Monday. Will give 4 stars for now until it’s installed and working. Hefty unit at 50 lbs. install in my 2015 Amped 28FS looks like it will be very straight forward. Thanks etrailer for the quick shipping. Now I can’t wait to do some serious boondocking especially when my solar is installed and I can minimize the generator running!

This unit is well built and ready for 50 amp pass thru. Comes with built in 50amp circuit breakers and Romex clamps. Installed on our 2019 Grand Design Momentum and so far works great. Recommend the remote panel. Bob at GoPower was awesome with customer service and helped me set all parameters for lithium batteries. Sarah at etrailer was great and had shipped out an hour after I ordered to make my need date. I highly recommend GoPower and etrailer.

First timer install. Go Power tech support was well informed and answered my questions and gave good advice. I've been using the system I installed for over a year, and glad I did it myself since I've come across a few instances where it really paid off to know how to configure and debug and what to expect. I've been pleased with the performance and interoperability with my lithium batteries and solar charge controller.

Review from a similar Pure Sine Wave in RV Inverters

The inverter works very well. The only reason I gave it 3 stars is because the front of the unit is made with cheap plastic. The screws that hold the electric outlet in the front of the unit is embedded into the plastic. The plastic broke the first time I plugged into the outlet. I was leaving in two days to go on a trip to Utah so did not send it back. I voided the warranty by opening the unit, reinforced the outlet by sandwiching the plastic front in between two pieces of aluminum and used screws to hold the outlet in place. Since doing this, everything has worked flawlessly. I would not buy this item again due to the plastic front.

The inverter does what I need it to. Charges the battery bank from my solar and wind setup, seamlessly switches from battery bank to shore power/generator. Automatically turns on when supplied with shore power, turns off when you disconnect it. I do wish the charge/not charge setting was “Sticky” between power cycles, but that is minor. Also would be nice to have built in or integrated options for solar and wind dump load.

One year + later, this inverter is great! I have it connected to two battleborn lithium batteries. We can run our TV although we don’t much, our Microware, or our coffee Kirin machine - of course not all at once. The fan is a bit noisy but it only fires up when drawing heavy from the inverter. Love it and recommend it.

Review from a similar Pure Sine Wave in RV Inverters

My Gopower sine wave inverter died after about 14 months. I tested, ck’d polarities, voltages, connections and it wouldn’t work. I call Etrailer and Noah said send it back and we’ll issue a new one or order a new one and send the failing unit back for full credit. I ordered one and it arrived two days later. What service. Just need to send the old one now.

Review from a similar Pure Sine Wave in RV Inverters

After 4 days of use this inverter easily does anything I need it to do, which is largely charging batteries when taking road trips. It handled my Dremel and 3/8 drill, as well. Didn’t try the grinder ?. It’s well made with an all metal chassis, including front and rear faces – the only plastic is the black cover. It is substantial and heavy enough that it doesn’t look and feel cheap or breakable. Overall, I like the unit and would recommend it. My only strike against it is, IMO, a design flaw at Go Power. It is nuts to have the power connections on the back so close together. One of them should be located where the ground connector is. If one uses something more substantial than the #6 wire Go Power recommends and one should if the inverter is more than about 3 or 4ft from the battery. I am using #6 CABLE for a 9ft run. The plastic caps make it difficult to impossible to use lugs made for more substantial cable, but the proximity of one to the other makes it a safety concern to remove the caps. I had to file one lug more narrow to make it fit inside the plastic and left the other uncovered.

I had several questions about I/C and was routed to appropriate people to get answers. Each person was nice and very helpful. Received product in timely manner and packaged well. Will be installing tomorrow in our 5th wheel trailer for dry camping. I/C seems to be a very substantial product, definitely not cheaply made.

The product itself so far so good. Customer service was good. BUT I thought the # 34277742 switch for my inverter was included with the inverter, I even e mailed the ad to separate sales guys showing them that their ad says the switch is included, bottom line I was out more money for a switch, extremely disappointing, seems like false advertising but what can you do.

Comments
As mentioned in the product description above, the remote switch is sold separately.

Ask the Experts about this Go Power RV Inverters

  • Would Go Power Industrial Pure Sine Wave Inverter # 34278157 Work to Power 13.5k BTU RV AC Unit
13,500 BTU AC units like the Advent part # ACM135C require 1,450 watts so the 3,000 watt inverter part # 34278157 that you referenced would easily cover that. Given the very specific limitations of your situation this would be the best solution overall. A solar panel kit might help too though like with the Go Power part # 34272628 which can provide 200 watts to help charge the batteries.

  • Troubleshooting Reverse Polarity Go Power Industrial Pure Sine Wave Inverter
Somewhere in the system you have a hot side and a neutral line reversed. My suggestion is to take it back to the person you paid to install. But if you want to troubleshoot the installation of your Go Power Industrial Pure Sine Wave Inverter, # 34275013 yourself; start at the beginning of the circuit on your installation checking polarity at each connection point to discover where the inverted wiring issue is. You do not state how you identified that there is a reverse polarity issue...

  • Can the Go Power 3000w Pure Sine Wave Converter Be Used with AGM Batteries
Yes.The Go Power # 34278157 will work with an AGM battery or any other type of battery that you want to use with it, including lithium ion. You won't need to change any of the settings and it's prepared to work right out of the box and will convert your battery's DC power into clean AC power.

  • Which Inverter and Power Distribution Box Can Be Paired to Provide At Least 25 Amps of Power
Part of the challenge of running your RV or trailer completely off battery power is that you're going to require a rather large battery bank (at least 4 and likely as many as 8 depending on the size of the coach and what you're powering) to power things like AC units and refrigerators. Adding an inverter like the Go Power Industrial Pure Sine Wave Inverter - 3,000 Watt - 12V # 34278157 would be required to power anything that runs off AC power and is a good addition if you're not always...
