Video Transcript for Review of Dometic RV Furnace - Doorless 25K BTU - DMC94RR

Hello neighbors, Steven here with etrailer.com. Let's take a look together at our Dometic RV furnace. Runs on LP gas or liquid propane. It's got an automatic pilot running on 12 volts of DC current rated at 25,000 BTUs and it's what we call a doorless model. So real quick folks, I will show you some dimensions real quick or go over rather, 16 1/2 inches wide, seven inches tall, up and down, and 20 inches deep or long depending on how you want to word it. So if that space fits your needs, that's the size this guy is, again, 25,000 BTUs.

Now this furnace can quickly and efficiently heat the interior of your RV or camper, fifth wheel, travel trailers, motor homes, and it can replace or upgrade or simply be in addition to a furnace. It is again propane powered, that propane connection's at the back, and that gives you a nice option for boondocking because if it's propane ran, you don't have to worry about being connected to shore power. Again, the 12 volts it would get for the pilot could simply easily be run off of the battery while you're boondocking. Now back inside of here somewhere back in there is an automatic DSI gas pilot. That's gonna reduce the risk of gas leaks but also increase the fuel efficiency.

It also will relight automatically until the heater is switched off. You got a reset button off, reset here, and again, you have all the electrical connectors you need. Two blue for the thermostat, black for ground, and red for 12 volt power for that pilot light. Now you can mount it horizontal like I got it here or vertically, totally up to you. It's very flexible as far as the install.

There's also an LED light down in here on the control board that can flash if there was a diagnostic code for a fault or something. And that would flash a sequence of some sort per the instructions that it comes with, under troubleshooting, and you'd be able to find out exactly what it needs or what's going on with it or something. Now speaking of instructions, I highly recommend you read them before you try to install anything, not just this unit. Make sure you know what you're doing. You got two mounting brackets and two little screws for mounting.

You've got three of these duct adapters, two options on top, two on the side, three across the back, and two more on the other side. Again, you get three of those with the purchase. Now some other things you could possibly need that are not included, you may not need 'em. I would recommend butyl tape around this guy here 'cause this is gonna come off and this silver piece would be on the outside of the RV, camper or whatnot. And you're gonna need to fill that gap between the wall of the RV or camper and make sure it's a watertight seal. You could possibly also need, according to the instructions, either some number six or number eight panhead style screws that are half inch long, possibly AB style or self-tapping depending on what you call 'em in your area as far as getting the installation complete as well. Again, you may or may not need those. I'm just putting the information out there, that way you're prepared ahead of time. Once again, I recommend you read the instructions before you start. That way you can get everything you need for your particular installation before you start. And that being said, if you don't wanna tackle it yourself and you don't know how, that's fine. Locate a local dealer in your area or someone that does these type of installs and they should be able to take care of it for you as well. Now, I believe I mentioned it, but just in case, you do need a thermostat, that's sold separately. This particular one is black in color, part number DMC84RR, and that's what we call a mechanical thermostat. So it's not digital or anything, just a basic thermostat. Well folks, that's gonna wrap it up. Thanks for joining while we take a look at this Dometic 25,000 BT rated doorless RV furnace. I'm Steven. As always, stay safe while you're towing and have a great day.
