How to Install a Bar Faucet

LaSalle Bristol Utopia Installation

This faucet includes 2 sets of mounting nuts. The black mounting nuts thread onto the shanks, whereas the gray quick-connect mounting nuts just slide right on. Depending on your preference, you could use either set of mounting nuts for installation. To install, slide the inlet shanks and deck plate of the new faucet through the mounting holes of your existing faucet. Then hand-tighten the mounting nuts and washers against the underside of the counter, and connect the hot and cold water lines. You'll need to keep some tub and tile caulk (not included) on hand to help prevent any leaking.

Michael: Hi there. I'm Michael, with etrailer.com. Today we're taking a look at the LaSalle Bristol Utopia RV faucet. This is going to be a nice upgrade for your kitchen or bar faucet on your RV or camper. It's got a very durable construction. Our spout here is made out of metal and our base and our handles are made out of a ABS plastic.

It's going to be very durable. It's all got a Chrome finish, so it's going to look very nice. The dual handle design, it's going to allow us to control our temperature with greater accuracy so we can get it set just where we like. It's also got a washerless design on the cartridges, which is going to help reduce the friction and daily wear, so it's going to make it last a lot longer. Our gooseneck spout does rotate on our oval base, as you can see. We've got a standard flow aerator, that's going to help us clean our dishes nice and fast.

This unit is UPC, CUPC, NSF, and ANSI certified, so you know it's held to high standards. It's got a two piece design with easy assembly. You can remove the spout by twisting off that base and lifting out. When you want to assemble it, you can simply stick that down into place and then screw on that cover there. This will work with two hole installation, so when you're removing your old one, if you notice it's only got the two shanks like this one does it'll work fine.

If you have a three hole system, so there was another hole or another piece of your old faucet that needed a hole, this will work just fine as well, it'll still cover up that middle hole. Our inlet shanks are the standard male NPSM connections. So you're not going to have to worry about finding specialty fits or anything. These are your standard connections. This kit is going to include your deck plate, that we can mount on the bottom of our faucet before we get it put onto our counter. Once we have it on our counter, we'll go in from underneath and we'll use either one of these mounting nuts.

You've got your standard threaded mounting nuts, as well as your quick connect nuts for your threaded nuts. Simply just thread them on so they get flush with the bottom of your counter. And that tension will keep your faucets from swaying or moving. For our quick connect nuts, they're a little bit different as you can see, they just kind of slide on. They're a little bit wider so they're not as tight, but once you get them to where you need them, you simply lock them in place. No hold again, keeping the tension on your faucet so that it doesn't wiggle around. Now I'm not having much luck with these quick connect nuts, but they are included in the kit so you can use them if you like them. I prefer the threaded on style. And you're also going to get these rubber washers to make sure that everything's nice and snug. You're not going to have any leaks. Now, if you, if you're installing this, I would recommend picking up some thread tape just to make sure that all your seals are nice and snug. We do carry some here at etrailer.com or you can find some at your local hardware store. It's a very common item. I'm sure if you've ever done any sort of plumbing, you know what I'm talking about. Our unit does have a 2.5 gallon per minute flow rate. Our overall dimensions with our handle sticking out to the sides like that, we're looking at right about. Nine and a quarter of an inch wide. When we have this mounted on our counter, it's going to stand up. Right about. Eight and a quarter of an inches tall. And our total width on the outside of our faucets, I'm going to call it right about five and a half inches. Maybe just under five and a quarter or something like that. Your base dimensions, excluding the handles. You're looking at right about. Call it six and an eighth of an inch wide by. Right about two and an eighth inch deep. Your distance from your mounting points to your aerator, looking right about three and seven eighths of an inch. The distance from your countertop to your aerator. Looks like it's right there, right about six inches. The shanks themselves, as I said, they are the standard male NPSM. The inner diameter of our shanks. Right about half an inch. The outer diameter. Call it nine sixteenths of an inch. The distance between them, from center to center, is right about. Right on four inches. The lengths of our shanks, is right about two inches. From the sink does, sorry, this faucet does come with a five-year warranty from LaSalle Bristol, which should give you some extra peace of mind, knowing that they stand behind their product, should last you a long time. That's going to complete our look at the LaSalle Bristol Utopia RV faucet.
