Ellen: Hey everyone. I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com. Today, we're taking a quick look at the JR Products Pop-up Camper Latch with Cam. This is going to help keep your camper latched and closed whenever you're not using it, so it just has this kind of cam style. As you flip that lever closed, it pulls this little hook in towards the center, pulling the other side closed, so it keeps everything nice and tight. We can adjust that by turning this piece.
There's a little captured nut there that provides that tension. Then once that is all the way snapped down, you can place a padlock on it.It comes with the hardware to mount both this side and the other, so it's going to grab onto the other little hook and hold that tight. Then once the snaps down in place, there's a little kind of bump out, there's a little detent there that fits into a recessed little point on this. With the white powder coat, it's kind of tough to close this, and without it being actually mounted to anything. I was trying to make it force close, but it really doesn't want to go.
So the first time you use this, you might have to really coax it in place, but should work out well. Again, comes with those mounting screws so you won't have to worry about picking up anything extra. They are powder coated with white as well, so everything's going to match. Now, I have this threaded all the way out, really about as far as I'd like to, just so that the end of the bolt is flush with that nut. So if we close that up from the latch side, through the top of the latch to the inside of that hook, it's about 3 and 1/2 inches. So that's about the widest that that can span.
If we pull this in, thread it all the way down, we can see what its minimum is. There, that bolt kind of stops, it's now hitting the other side of the bracket. So that would be our minimum span. That's about 2 and 7/8 inches, maybe 2 and 1/4 once it's all the way smashed down. So between 2 and 3/4, and 3 and 1/2 inches, this should work.As far as the latch length, it's about 4 and 5/8 inches.
The height is about 1 and 1/2 inches tall. The bracket measures about 2 inches wide by about 1 and 7/8 inches long. The distance between our mounting holes, center to center is about an inch one way, and then about an inch and 1/2 the other way.For our small bracket, it measures about an inch and 1/4 by about 7/8 of an inch, or actually about 13/16 of an inch. And then that sticks up just 3/8 of an inch. The diameter for the locking portion for a padlock, it's about a quarter of an inch there. So as long as you have a shackle that's a quarter inch or less, should work out just fine for you.But that's pretty much going to do it for our look at the JR Products Pop-up Camper Latch. There are two other versions of this available, they just have different finishes. We also have a black coated one, and then a silver that just has a zinc finish. You can find those here at etrailer.com, and thanks for watching.

Pop-up camper latch and catch secures your pop-up when stored. Constructed of steel with white powder coat. Includes mounting screws. The inner pin that you trim to fit your door and it helps open the door broke off in the lock. It was very flimsy. Now I can't use the lock.
It’s exactly what I needed for secure highway travels this summer! It came out cheaper with the exchange rate than if I had gone with Another online retailer or a local RV dealer as well. My only recommendation is the Philips screws that came with are terrible and where stripping as I was installing the latches. I ended up reusing the Robinson’s that camp with the trailer.
Good parts. Great service.
I have order from etrailer multiple times. Not only are their products great but their service is exceptional. They just informed me my shipment had arrived before I knew the box was sitting at my front door. Justin B is wonderful.
This fit my 2006 Fleetwood Utah perfectly! Color is bright white and clean!!
Latches are good quality but the screws are even smaller than what was already in the trailer so they will not work to replace existing latches (for me). I will need to find bigger screws or a different way to attach them.
These are very easy to install! It’s nice to be able secure them, especially if you’re going down bumpy, washboard roads. They also have a durable finish on them.
Very good service from Tommy. I had an additional item I wanted added to a backordered item, and all was coordinated into a single shipment which saved added expense. Highly recommended!
:)
Sturdy product. Fast delivery.
