Ellen: Hey everyone, I'm Ellen, here at etrailer.com. Today we're taking a quick look at the JR Products Pop-up Camper Latch and Catch. This is going to be in the silver or the zinc color. It's going to just have a clear zinc plated steel coating on it to help keep down rust and corrosion. This is going to just keep our pop-up camper safe and secure whenever we're not using it. If you open that up, it's going to have this latch that we'll be able to adjust to keep everything tightened down.

You just turn that piece to adjust that out. And then whenever you have it where you need it to be, slap that closed and should work out just fine for you.Looks like you can really only go so far before our little tab to put on a padlock won't fit in the slot anymore. At this position we'll have about five and a half inches of length. Thread it back down so that it's all the way closed, we can see what our minimum length is. And that was going from the back of the bracket to the front of that hook.

Then our bolt is bottoming out there so that's about as far in as we can go. And now we're at about five inches, so we'll have about a half inch of play for the adjustment there. And then we'll also have this little bracket there, the little catch to hold onto that to give us the opposing piece so that we can have something to actually latch onto.Also comes with the hardware to get everything mounted up. We'll have two bolts for that little piece and then four for the big latch. As far as the overall size, our handle here is about four and three quarter inches long.

Total from front to back it's about five inches, maybe about five and a quarter if we include that handle, going from the front of the handle to the back of the bracket. Width-wise, we're looking at about two inches and then our height or depth, however you want to look at it, is about one and an eighth inch.The diameter of our hole for a padlock is going to be about a quarter inch, so any padlock that has a shackle bolt diameter of a quarter inch or less should work out just fine there. This little piece is going to be about seven eighths of an inch long, about three eighths of an inch deep. The distance between the mounting holes center to center is about 13 sixteenths of an inch apart. For our base here it's about an inch and an eighth by about an inch and a half.Again, zinc plated steel.
