How to Measure 5th-Wheel Toy Hauler

Adco How to Measure 5th-Wheel Camper

To determine the proper fit, measure the length (front overhang to rear bumper including spare tire or ladder, where applicable) and sidewall height (undercarriage to the top of the natural roof line). This cover is designed to accommodate rooftop accessories such as AC units and vents.

Choose Cover by Climate

Adco Climate Map

The climate where you are storing your fifth-wheel toy hauler will help determine which cover to choose. This Tyvek All-Climate + Wind cover is designed for use in all climates located on the map above.

Adco 5th Wheel Cover

This contour-fit cover helps keep your fifth-wheel toy hauler dry and well protected when not in use. It features a 3-layer DuPont Tyvek top and 3-layer polypropylene sides to protect against sun, rain, mold, and mildew in all climates. Elastic corners and a rope cinching system allows you to draw the cover in tight over your vehicle. Zippered panels on passenger's side and rear offer access to your toy hauler during storage. Includes 4 Tyre Gards to protect your vehicle's wheels when stored.

Fabric Guards Against Elements

Adco Class C Tyvek Cover

The top panel is constructed of triple-layer DuPont Tyvek fabric that is stronger and more UV resistant when compared to standard polypropylene covers. It blocks 99.8 of damaging UV rays while keeping the interior cool through infrared heat reflection. It also prevents 98 percent of dirt and dust particles from reaching the toy hauler's surface. Additionally, the fabric beads water to eliminate pooling and ice build-up that can damage your toy hauler or cover. And the material resists acid rain, bird droppings, tree sap, dirt, dust, and other forms of environmental pollution that cause black streaks.

The sides of the cover are made of a non-abrasive, triple-layer polypropylene. This high-performance, non-woven fabric is water resistant and breathable to prevent the growth of mold and mildew.

Air Vents Help Cover Breathe

Adco Class C Air Vents

Air vents on the sides allow air to escape the cover in moderate winds to prevent billowing. These built-in vents also help the cover breathe to prevent mold and mildew.

Straps and Elastic Corners Ensure Snug Fit

Adco Corner and Cinching System

The cover is designed to fit snugly over your fifth-wheel toy hauler for a clean look and better protection from the elements. Elasticized corners grip your vehicle tightly, and they are reinforced to reduce wear and prevent tears and snags. Cinch ropes in front and back remove slack and reduce billowing.

Adco Strap and Buckles

Weighted straps with buckles run beneath your vehicle to secure the cover in place. The weighted ends allow you to easily toss the straps from one side of the vehicle to the other. Once buckled, the straps can be pulled tight to ensure the cover is securely fastened so it won't blow away with the wind.

Zippered Panels Offer Access

The cover features zippered panels on the passenger's side and rear so you can still access the interior of your toy hauler with the cover installed.

Storage and Protection

Adco Class C accessories

A ladder cap, rain gutter spout protectors, 4 Tyre Gards, and a storage bag are included with the cover. Place the cap on top of your vehicle's ladder and the protectors over your rain gutter spouts to reduce wear on the cover. The Tyre Gards protect your wheels while toy hauler is in storage. The bag allows you to store the cover compactly in your vehicle or garage when not in use.

Video Transcript for Adco RV Cover with Tyre Gards Review

Today we're going to be taking a look at the ADCO RV cover for fifth wheel trailers. They're available in eight different sizes to fit your fifth wheel up to 43 feet long. This ADCO All-Climate fifth wheel cover features a Tyvek top panel. It's designed to protect your fifth wheel trailer from sun exposure, wind, and the elements. The fabric is water resistant, yet breathable to help prevent mold or mildew. The vents will also help reduce moisture.

The zippered entry panels allow you easy access to your fifth wheel trailer while the cover remains in place. It features a cinch system at the front and the rear to remove slack and reduce billowing. The 28 foot long end grater covers also have a zipper panel at the rear for your toy hauler. To remove it just reverse your steps and it comes with a storage bag to keep everything nice and tidy. Now that we've gone over features, I'll go ahead and show you how to get it installed. Now this most certainly be done with one person but on a windy day like today, it's a good idea to have an extra set of hands.

Now it's going to come shipped to you wrapped up just like this. I'm going to go ahead and unwrap it and then call in my extra set of hands. We're going to unroll it and find out which way is the front and which is the rear and they're labeled. We can set our storage bag aside. It looks like you found the rear there.

I'll take this to the rear while he takes the front to the front. Now we can go ahead and spread it out and we need to locate the top, it's all white. By bringing the top over, we can then kick out the other side. Now should the wind build up, just bring it as low to the ground as you can until it all escapes. As we're spreading it out, let's locate our straps and unravel those. Once all of our straps are unrolled, we now want to take the sides and fold them roughly over to the middle.

You want to repeat this for the other side. Now let's roll it up from the rear to the front. Then we'll want to carry the whole bundle and set it just behind our fifth wheel trailer. We'll grab the end and start climbing up our ladder and it's going to unravel as we go. Once we get to the top, we'll walk all the way forward and start throwing it over the corners. I've got my buddy down below holding the other end should the wind start to pick up. Then we'll begin spreading out the corners. Now as you're working down the sides, it's a good idea to throw down the straps that way your buddy can help you kind of work it into place. With our front corner started, we can begin then heading back towards the rear and letting down our sides. Once we get to the rear, we'll want to do our corner opposite the ladder first and then climb down. As we clomb down, we'll take the last corner with us. Then we can just go around our fifth wheel pulling down the sides. As we get to the front, we'll just continue pulling them down. With everything in place we'll want to be sure and center it up with our fifth wheel, then we can begin securing our bottom corners. The bottom corners are cinch straps. We can just connect the buckles and then pull it tight. As you can see I'm just tightening it as I pull it. Now should it get difficult to tighten with it connected, you can actually disconnect it, pull it tight and then reconnect it. Then we'll do the same process in the front. In the front we're just tucking it up underneath our fifth wheel hitch connection. Then we'll tighten the slip stream straps that run along the top side. This is going to tighten up our top corners. Then we'll repeat this process with all four corners. With our top slip stream straps secured, let's go ahead and do our bottom. Again we'll just pull out as much slack as we can and then connect it. We'll repeat the same process for the other side. Now we'll return to the back and secure our three straps here. With the back being done, let's go ahead and secure the entire front. Here underneath the hook and loop is removable to adjust for different sizes. Now we'll do our two straps for the underside. Lastly we can secure our bottom straps. We'll take our included weight, we'll attach it here and throw it underneath so we can access it from the other side. Here on the underside we can disconnect our weight, we'll connect it to the buckle and then tighten it up just the same. Then we'll repeat the same process for the other straps. Now we can install our tire guards. We'll be sure to find the elastic end, that's what's going to go over the top of our tire. The straps go at the bottom. I'm just going to slightly lift up on my RV cover, bring it over the top, make sure that the front seam lines up with the front portion of the tire and then just pull it down. Then we'll bring our strap around to the back side and connect it to the buckle and pull it tight. Then we'll just repeat the same process for our other tires. With our tire guards installed, we've got you covered. That's going to complete our look at the ADCO RV cover for fifth wheel trailers.

Very pleased with the cover. Easy to install, got more than I expected in tie downs, and wheel covers, even one for the spare wheel. Received the cover very quickly. Ordered a longer cover than I needed but had absolutely no problems. 590122

Have not put my ADCO Cover on as of yet but know others that have purchased the cover from etrailer with great success. I could not believe on how fast that Etrailer answered questions and the shipping was great. Will be using etrailer for other things I need for my camper 571805

So far so good. We have had an ADCO cover before and were pleased with our purchase. Three year warranty. I figure it will cost us about $125.00 per year to protect our camper. The sun and weather is tough on the cover. Rather the cover than my new camper. Will post some pictures after we install it. Love the price and service from etrailer. Easy to order, great service and they followed the shipment all the way to my door. Got an email to today telling me it was delivered. Got my mother-law to slide it in the house since I knew it was sitting on the front porch. Very, very pleased with the whole experience. Well done etrailer. 474303

Morning. It has not been on the camper 24/7 because we were using it. However it has been on for the last two months with about a month to go before we uncover it and begin to camp again. It has held up well even the days we had gale force winds. So I am very pleased. Thanks for the follow-up.

BUYERS STAY AWAY from this product ... very Poor quality. I stopped by to check on the durability of cover on day 5 after covering my 5th wheel. I noticed All four top corners were torn, worst investment EVER !!! 509532

We just took it out of the box and was going to put it on and it already had a rip in it? Not impressed for $420 582168

When I bought, I assumed it would only be good for 2 years, and I think it will make that easily. Much less costly than covered storage. It's bulky, but as long as it's dry, one person can manage it without much problem as long as there's no breeze. Convenient zippered openings on passenger side are helpful, but it would be nice to have an opening on the driver side, too, to be able to turn on and off master power switch easier. I recommend discarding the sleeves provided for the gutters, and using tennis balls, instead. 500005

Etrailer have everything you need to keep you camper going....The complaint: The box that the cover was shipped in came very damaged. One edge was tapped with packing tape and all the other edges were beat up or ripped. The plastic bag covering the RV Cover appears undamaged. I will have to pull it out of the box to make sure but I am not going to open the cover until next fall. The cover looks ok from the box. I understand from other reviews over the years that I have read that this seems to be a regular complaint with larger items shipped from Etrailer. I guess just as long as the item itself is not damaged I am ok with it. 356872

I think because most trailers have the drip rail ends on 4 corners there should be some type of reenforcement on the corners to prevent tearing. Other than that seems like a good cover. Just put in for season so we’ll see how it holds up. 591695

Review from a similar Adco All-Climate Plus Wind in RV Covers

ADCO trailer cover was bought to protect my new trailer from the winter sun, snow and falling debris from trees. Have used it for the first year and found it to be quite resilient. Cover is still in perfect condition after a snowy and windy winter here in NJ. Many campers complain about rips and tears especially at the corners near the rain spouts on all brands of covers. I used 4 tennis balls, slit and pushed onto the rain gutter spouts to prevent any tearing from wind and abrasion and it worked great. No damage to the cover was noted. The zipper panels allow access to the various storage compartment doors and the entry door. Zippers worked well. Wheel covers included in the purchase of the cover also worked well. Happy with the purchase and recommend it. 500846

Has been two NJ winters and trailer cover is still in great shape, no complaints! I did buy one that was one size larger than I needed but that was my fault in estimating the actual size of the trailer. Talked my friend with the same trailer into buying the same cover of the correct size and he has no complaints either. Is holding up well with no tears even at the corners. I installed old tennis ball over the rain gutter spouts at each corner. Corners are double layer to help with the strength of the cover. I would certainly recommend this cover for a travel trailer.

Delivered in 4days, easy enough to install myself. Alot of straps to tie down and cinch cover. I did open package in driveway to orient cover and fold to make installation easier from roof. I liked the little covers for gutter extensions too. 501644

Had a few corners rip. I added more material to bad areas. Hope it hold up at least 2 more years.

Review from a similar Adco All-Climate Plus Wind in RV Covers

Like the cover and the convenience of access panel for the ability to get into the motor-home while the cover is on. However, it's made with very thin material and ripped a small hole in the top of the cover when it hooked on A/C unit during installation. We have a 34'3" motor-home and went with the 36 ft size as the manufacture recommends going to larger cover when size is close, but there is too much excess cover hanging off the back which flaps in the wind, even with the straps pulled to there limits. Would go with the smaller cover next time. 625537

Review from a similar Adco All-Climate Plus Wind in RV Covers

My cover has survived a very windy New England Winter with little wear. I had used pieces of gray pipe insulation to pad the gutter spouts, and snugged it down nice and tight. Yes that is snow, the snow arrived before I was ready for it. But making a snowball around the weight to throw the tie downs from side to side made it easier to find them in the green grass under my RV. It had several different events with winds of 50 to 60 mph to contend with, the worst it did was toss some snow buildup off the roof. I did have wear and tear at the exhaust pipe. Now I know to put a plastic flower pot over it, and I'll use a pair of larger flower pots on the rear bumper to prevent those friction locations too. Yes I'll buy one when this on finally wears out. The videos were helpful in putting it on and taking it off. I didn't try to put it in the bag provided. It is folded up in a 32 gal trash can with wheels because it is just easier to move around. 633107

This item was cheaper on etrailer then we could find anywhere else. The item arrived on time. I just got it installed today. Because i don't have a ladder on my trailer it was a little difficult to install the way the videos show however it wasn't that hard. I haven't gone through a winter yet with it so we shall see how it holds up to a harsh Utah winter. To be continued. 460758

Cover fit was good with plenty of tie down straps to hold securely. The zipper oppening is nice for re-entering the trailer without having to partially remove cover. We used tennis balls on all gutter spouts and any where there was something remotely sharp but still rubbed through the cover in 2 places a moth after installed. Like the white heavier top portion to protect and reduce heat. Yes I would recommend this cover and hope to get 3 years out of it. Doubt there are better covers at this price out there. The sun will take it's toll on any cover regardless of price payed, at this price it can be replaced . 615932

It fir our Coachmen Apex Nano perfectly. I found the quality and value to be very good. I thought that the instructions could be better. As a 50 + year old that does use technology, It would have been nice to have written instructions i could follow in the driveway vs the 1 page vague instructions and had to keep referring to cell phone vid. Overall I love the product and i'm happy I bought it 579518

Just received the RV cover today. Hoping that I will not have to install this cover this year because I had purchased this same cover 4 years ago and I think it will last thru this year. Review from a similar Adco All-Climate Plus Wind in RV Covers

I just installed the cover today on my 2019 Intech 24' Lite enclosed trailer and all I can say is that it fits very well and I like the all the built in features of the cover. I can see where the trailers sharp edges on a windy day will cause problems but I will put something over them to prevent this. I did the install alone and it was a lot of " up and down" the step ladder (can't walk on the roof of this trailer) but I got it done. Installing this was somewhat of a tight fit but once on the trailer and the packing wrinkles smoothed out I can see where it would fit a 25' -25.5 ft box much tighter. It better be a warm day to install it on a 26! Overall I'd say buy this and be happy! 579857

Review from a similar Adco All-Climate Plus Wind in RV Covers

This is a good product for snow or rain. It fit nice and tight and strapped down easily. If used in a secluded place with no air forces it would be just fine. HOWEVER, it will not withstand winds of sustained 35-40 MPH with gusts 50-60 MPH or higher. It ripped out along the zippers first, then along the seams on the opening side. The rest stayed intact. I felt it useless to try to repair so it was removed and trashed. 597786

Review from a similar Adco All-Climate Plus Wind in RV Covers

Cover fit well. It held up to the southeast Wyoming wind well this past winter. It appears it will last for several seasons, despite the wind and the high UV it gets at our altitude. I’m happy with the purchase after the first year. I’d recommend this cover to others. 563944

Cover worked great. Only knock is that my trailer has rain "spouts" off the corners of the roof and they poked through the cover (all 4 corners). Probably would be a good idea for the mfg to reinforce the corners. 575285

Review from a similar Adco All-Climate Plus Wind in RV Covers

I have only had it installed for a week. Bought it so my red travel trailer won't turn pink. Installation was easy (I watched a video first). It made it thru a heavy wind day. Did not use tire covers as I had some already. I think a good expectation would be 3 seasons of use. 592931

We like the reinforced corners. It worked great last winter with the snowiest winter in many years. Kept our trailer dry and all set to go in the spring. 577130

Very quick shipping. I got what I ordered and am eager to try it out. It looks like it is much better than the Lego style blocks offered elsewhere. I like the fact that I don't have to guess how many blocks I will need, run it up on the blocks I have put together and hope I don't fall off the back side and have to try again. That happened with the Lego style. I will try to update my review after I have tried it out. 447277

Review from a similar Adco All-Climate Plus Wind in RV Covers

I was searching for a cover for the Trailmanor 2617 camping trailer with a rooftop A/C unit and an attached awning.... a very difficult search since there is not much owner experiences or recommendations for this unit. The reps at etrailer was very helpful. The defined the measurements that I needed and recommended this cover. The service was great. The shipping from MO to CA was quick. The rep referred me to an instruction video which was helpful. But be reminded that the cover was designed for a non-collapsible trailer. Yes, there is excess, but it is easily bound and secured. Follow the directions on the video to start and modify the the cinching of the excess with a couple of elastic bungee cords. See the attached photos. We are very satisfied. Thank you etrailer! 469563

The product itself is finely made and very durable. Only one small issue....I went to the ADCO site and entered our RV trailer information. It told me which one to buy. Unfortunately, it is a bit large for our camper. We decided to keep it and have it drape everything. With this said, the cover itself is first class and etrailer.com has great prices and very fast delivery. Be sure to measure your camper carefully (follow the instructions on the ADCO site) and order the appropriate one for your camper. 566378

  • Comparing the Camco UltraGuard 42 ft 5th Wheel Cover with the Camco Ultra-Shield
  • The UltraGuard # CAM45759 is actually very similar to the Camco Ultra-Shield that you found. It doesn't have the Tyvek top panel, but the top panel is a triple layer SFS top panel that beads water on contact, providing maximum resistance to rainfall and snow. Basically it boils down to Tyvek being better for sunny climates where you need more UV protection and the SFS being better for wet climates. If your climate is much more sunny and you need the UV protection then we have the Adco cover...

  • Recommended 5th Wheel Trailer Cover to Protect Against Wind and Rain During Winter
  • To protect your fifth wheel trailer from wind and rain I recommend the Adco Tyvek cover. However, finding the proper fit may be an issue depending on where you measured from. If you measured from the ground or considered any roof mounted items, like an AC unit, then # 290-34858 will be a good fit for you. It's 11 feet tall so if the 13-1/2 foot is just the trailer wall height then this won't work for you. If it will fit it's a great choice because it's designed specifically for extreme...

For your dimensions, I recommend the Adco RV Cover w/Tyre Gards for 5th Wheel Trailer - All-Climate + Wind # 290-34858. This cover has a Tyvek top that is extremely durable and best known for its use on house wraps for moisture control. • Storage Cover Fit for Enclosed Racecar Trailer 53 Feet Long
  • The Adco RV Cover w/Tyre Gards for 5th Wheel Trailer - All-Climate + Wind - Tyvek - 43-1/2' Long # 290-34858 is the longest storage cover we have and the best cover for all weather. The overall dimensions are 528" long x 106" wide x 132" tall. There is not a cover we carry that is the 53 feet you are seeking. You may need to have something custom made or stitch a couple of these together to get the length needed. If you go that route, to get the coverage for the overhang you may...

  • Recommended Cover for a 42 foot Long 2014 Forest River Salem Hemisphere
  • I recommend going with the Adco RV Cover w/Tyre Gards for 5th Wheel Trailer # 290-34858 which is an All-Climate + Wind - Tyvek cover that is compatible with 5th wheel RVs that are 40 feet - 44 feet long. As long as the 42 feet that you measured includes the bumper, spare tire and ladder (but excludes the hitch) then this is the perfect fit for you. When manufacturers make covers for trailers they do take into account rooftop accessories like your A/C units and vents so you will not need...

  • Recommended Cover for Jayco Fifth Wheel Trailer
  • There is a great cover for your 40' 9" Jayco 36 KPTS from ADCO. The Adco RV Cover # 290-34858 is designed for fifth wheel trailers that are between 40' and 43-1/2' and is an all-climate cover designed to protect your trailer against sun exposure as well as rain or snow, which is perfect for the many types of weather that Virginia typically sees. • Will Adco RV Cover fit a 2016 Keystone Avalanche 370RD Fifth Wheel Trailer?
  • The Adco RV Cover # 290-34858 is designed to fit fifth wheel trailers such as your 2016 Keystone Avalanche that are between 40 and 43-1/2 feet long. From my research, your '16 Keystone measures almost 40 feet exactly (39'8"), a length which is going to allow the cover to fit and be an effective deterrent to the elements. I've added a link to a video review of this cover for you to take a look at.

  • Storage Cover for a 2015 Keystone Montana 3791RD
  • According to my research, your 2015 Keystone Montana 3791RD is 498" long x 96" wide 161" tall. The 161" tall measurement that the manufacturer lists is measured from the ground to the top of the 5th wheel. The covers we offer for your trailer are not designed to go all the way to the ground so you need to measure the height of the box only. As long as this does not exceed 104" then the Camco UltraGuard 5th Wheel Cover part # CAM45759 will work for you. If it does exceed 104" then you will...

  • The Adco RV Cover w/Tyre Gards for 5th Wheel Trailer - All-Climate + Wind - Tyvek - 43-1/2' Long # 290-34858 is an excellent option for your KZ Industries Durango 371RLT 5th wheel. The side ladder on the rear won't be an issue as the cover is 106 inches wide so it will be able to handle it without making it too tight at that location.
