How to Measure 5th-Wheel Toy Hauler

Adco How to Measure 5th-Wheel Camper

To determine the proper fit, measure the length (front overhang to rear bumper including spare tire or ladder, where applicable) and sidewall height (undercarriage to the top of the natural roof line). This cover is designed to accommodate rooftop accessories such as AC units and vents.

Choose Cover by Climate

Adco Climate Map

The climate where you are storing your fifth-wheel toy hauler will help determine which cover to choose. This Tyvek All-Climate + Wind cover is designed for use in all climates located on the map above.

Adco 5th Wheel Cover

This contour-fit cover helps keep your fifth-wheel toy hauler dry and well protected when not in use. It features a 3-layer DuPont Tyvek top and 3-layer polypropylene sides to protect against sun, rain, mold, and mildew in all climates. Elastic corners and a rope cinching system allows you to draw the cover in tight over your vehicle. Zippered panels on passenger's side and rear offer access to your toy hauler during storage. Includes 4 Tyre Gards to protect your vehicle's wheels when stored.

Fabric Guards Against Elements

Adco Class C Tyvek Cover

The top panel is constructed of triple-layer DuPont Tyvek fabric that is stronger and more UV resistant when compared to standard polypropylene covers. It blocks 99.8 of damaging UV rays while keeping the interior cool through infrared heat reflection. It also prevents 98 percent of dirt and dust particles from reaching the toy hauler's surface. Additionally, the fabric beads water to eliminate pooling and ice build-up that can damage your toy hauler or cover. And the material resists acid rain, bird droppings, tree sap, dirt, dust, and other forms of environmental pollution that cause black streaks.

The sides of the cover are made of a non-abrasive, triple-layer polypropylene. This high-performance, non-woven fabric is water resistant and breathable to prevent the growth of mold and mildew.

Air Vents Help Cover Breathe

Adco Class C Air Vents

Air vents on the sides allow air to escape the cover in moderate winds to prevent billowing. These built-in vents also help the cover breathe to prevent mold and mildew.

Straps and Elastic Corners Ensure Snug Fit

Adco Corner and Cinching System

The cover is designed to fit snugly over your fifth-wheel toy hauler for a clean look and better protection from the elements. Elasticized corners grip your vehicle tightly, and they are reinforced to reduce wear and prevent tears and snags. Cinch ropes in front and back remove slack and reduce billowing.

Adco Strap and Buckles

Weighted straps with buckles run beneath your vehicle to secure the cover in place. The weighted ends allow you to easily toss the straps from one side of the vehicle to the other. Once buckled, the straps can be pulled tight to ensure the cover is securely fastened so it won't blow away with the wind.

Zippered Panels Offer Access

The cover features zippered panels on the passenger's side and rear so you can still access the interior of your toy hauler with the cover installed.

Storage and Protection

Adco Class C accessories

A ladder cap, rain gutter spout protectors, 4 Tyre Gards, and a storage bag are included with the cover. Place the cap on top of your vehicle's ladder and the protectors over your rain gutter spouts to reduce wear on the cover. The Tyre Gards protect your wheels while toy hauler is in storage. The bag allows you to store the cover compactly in your vehicle or garage when not in use.

Video Transcript for Adco RV Cover with Tyre Gards Review

Today we're going to be taking a look at the ADCO RV cover for fifth wheel trailers. They're available in eight different sizes to fit your fifth wheel up to 43 feet long. This ADCO All-Climate fifth wheel cover features a Tyvek top panel. It's designed to protect your fifth wheel trailer from sun exposure, wind, and the elements. The fabric is water resistant, yet breathable to help prevent mold or mildew. The vents will also help reduce moisture.

The zippered entry panels allow you easy access to your fifth wheel trailer while the cover remains in place. It features a cinch system at the front and the rear to remove slack and reduce billowing. The 28 foot long end grater covers also have a zipper panel at the rear for your toy hauler. To remove it just reverse your steps and it comes with a storage bag to keep everything nice and tidy. Now that we've gone over features, I'll go ahead and show you how to get it installed. Now this most certainly be done with one person but on a windy day like today, it's a good idea to have an extra set of hands.

Now it's going to come shipped to you wrapped up just like this. I'm going to go ahead and unwrap it and then call in my extra set of hands. We're going to unroll it and find out which way is the front and which is the rear and they're labeled. We can set our storage bag aside. It looks like you found the rear there.

I'll take this to the rear while he takes the front to the front. Now we can go ahead and spread it out and we need to locate the top, it's all white. By bringing the top over, we can then kick out the other side. Now should the wind build up, just bring it as low to the ground as you can until it all escapes. As we're spreading it out, let's locate our straps and unravel those. Once all of our straps are unrolled, we now want to take the sides and fold them roughly over to the middle.

You want to repeat this for the other side. Now let's roll it up from the rear to the front. Then we'll want to carry the whole bundle and set it just behind our fifth wheel trailer. We'll grab the end and start climbing up our ladder and it's going to unravel as we go. Once we get to the top, we'll walk all the way forward and start throwing it over the corners. I've got my buddy down below holding the other end should the wind start to pick up. Then we'll begin spreading out the corners. Now as you're working down the sides, it's a good idea to throw down the straps that way your buddy can help you kind of work it into place. With our front corner started, we can begin then heading back towards the rear and letting down our sides. Once we get to the rear, we'll want to do our corner opposite the ladder first and then climb down. As we clomb down, we'll take the last corner with us. Then we can just go around our fifth wheel pulling down the sides. As we get to the front, we'll just continue pulling them down. With everything in place we'll want to be sure and center it up with our fifth wheel, then we can begin securing our bottom corners. The bottom corners are cinch straps. We can just connect the buckles and then pull it tight. As you can see I'm just tightening it as I pull it. Now should it get difficult to tighten with it connected, you can actually disconnect it, pull it tight and then reconnect it. Then we'll do the same process in the front. In the front we're just tucking it up underneath our fifth wheel hitch connection. Then we'll tighten the slip stream straps that run along the top side. This is going to tighten up our top corners. Then we'll repeat this process with all four corners. With our top slip stream straps secured, let's go ahead and do our bottom. Again we'll just pull out as much slack as we can and then connect it. We'll repeat the same process for the other side. Now we'll return to the back and secure our three straps here. With the back being done, let's go ahead and secure the entire front. Here underneath the hook and loop is removable to adjust for different sizes. Now we'll do our two straps for the underside. Lastly we can secure our bottom straps. We'll take our included weight, we'll attach it here and throw it underneath so we can access it from the other side. Here on the underside we can disconnect our weight, we'll connect it to the buckle and then tighten it up just the same. Then we'll repeat the same process for the other straps. Now we can install our tire guards. We'll be sure to find the elastic end, that's what's going to go over the top of our tire. The straps go at the bottom. I'm just going to slightly lift up on my RV cover, bring it over the top, make sure that the front seam lines up with the front portion of the tire and then just pull it down. Then we'll bring our strap around to the back side and connect it to the buckle and pull it tight. Then we'll just repeat the same process for our other tires. With our tire guards installed, we've got you covered. That's going to complete our look at the ADCO RV cover for fifth wheel trailers.

EASY INSTALL- FITS A LITTLE LARGE ON MY 36FT 5TH WHEEL- SIZE RANGES FOR THIS COVER I BELIEVE WERE 34FT TO 37FT- MATERIAL SEEMS QUALITY GRADE- NICE THAT IT CAME WITH TIRE COVERS!!! THIS IS MY 2ND ADCO COVER. FIRST COVER LASTED 4YRS WITH NO ISSUES. BOUGHT A LARGER CAMPER- NEEDED A LARGER COVER- ONLY REASON FOR REPLACING 1ST COVER. THIS ONE SEEMS SLIGHTLY BETTER IN QUALITY AS WELL. I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS COVER TO ANYONE LOOKING FOR A HEAVY DUTY RV COVER IN COLD WEATHER CLIMATES. 576537

I purchased an Adco RV cover with Tyre Gards for my 5th wheel. ETRAILER's service was outstanding and the price was the best offered - it also arrived as promised! Installation was fairly easy, but there is some learning curve. The material used for the roof is slick; so care needs to be taken when on the roof. The cover was installed as directed. It looks good, but we will see how it holds up under a Pacific Northwest winter. 572829

I was a little disappointed with the strength and endurance of the materiel used to make this cover. More importantly, when I first discovered the first tear, I was surprised to find that patches were available to purchase on the company's website (go figure). To me, that's equivalent to saying, "Yes we knows it's a good cover BUT it will tear under normal conditions." I've sewn about five spots so far and that wasn't in hurricane wind conditions. Now I'm discovering that by the fabric rubbing on the bottom of the RV Ladder, it wore a spot threw the fabric there. All of this was (obviously) within the first year. I would have expected this after three years but not so soon after buying it brand new. Thank goodness [local discount store]sells a high strength thick sewing kit I could use to repair my tears. A few of these were along the seem lines at the Velcro in the front. Thanks for asking for the follow up. I wish it could help but I doubt it will. 638180

Side fabric is extremely fragile and tears easily over just about any kind of protrusion. Same with the attachment of the adjustment straps to the side fabric. Dont think you can just connect the ends and pull on the loose end to tighten; you risk tearing the stitching from its connection point. Straps at front end (5th wheel application) have no 'rhyme or reason' as to their intended functionallity. 607507

Worked great the first year so far. Kept water out of the trailer and combined with moisture absorbing tubs the trailer still smelled new after the first winter of storage here in the Pacific Northwest. Be sure to cover all sharp edges. Even with all the straps it will move in the wind and chaff. And also, storage of the cover when not in use requires a large volume of space. I will eventually build a shelter to park my trailers under, but until then, this will work fine. 582942

After the first winter of use it had some normal wear. Be sure to cover any sharp points. I had a few that started to wear holes in it, but at the bottom so didn’t care too much. It did a good job of keeping the water out of the trailer. This combined with three moisture absorbing tubs inside and the trailer still smelled new in the spring. I’m about to put it back on for the second winter of use. I hope to eventually build a storage building for my trailers but until then this will work great. Only issue, and really what do you expect, is that it’s big. You’ll need a lot of room to store it in the summer when not in use. 582939

Review from a similar Adco All-Climate Plus Wind in RV Covers

A little scary at first because when the shipping box came it looked fine but after opening that box, the RV cover box inside looked like it had been dragged behind my truck, then had a elephant sit on it!!! It looked very bad, torn up with clear tape over half of the box! Right away I called the good people at etrailer and they were also concerned about the contents but said to check everything out and if I had a problem with anything, they would stand behind it and take care of it! Well I took inventory on the different components and did a quick look at the cover as best I could rolled up and it looked fine? The next morning I got the trailer set in place, up on stand and gave it a good cleaning. I let everything dry out real good before I rolled it out on the roof and slipped it on. It fit perfect and looked great!!! Wasn't sure how this was going to turn out after seeing the box in that shape but whoever boxed it up must have checked it out quite well and had the confidence it was in A-1 shape for whomever would receive it! Well, I was that person and I'm good with it and very satisfied with my purchase. The only reason i'm giving it a 4 out of 5 is of course because of the way it came to me but etrailer staff stood behind it and said the would make it right if I was dissatisfied in any way! I'm good, Thank you e-trailer... 686925

Purchased based on product description and reviews by other purchasers. Price was competitive. I viewed etrailer video and read the instructions that came with the cover. The video was the most instructive. Doubled checked the length of my trailer before unpacking the cover. The cover length was 6 inches longer than my trailer. My wife and I installed the cover and didn’t file for divorce afterwards – it was that easy. The pads that are meant to protect the cover from the rain gutter downspouts had to be taped in place; the draw strings didn’t work too well but no big deal. 548962

a year later the cover looks new and the RV trailer underneath is as dust and dirt free as the day it was born.

eTrailer I give 5 stars too. Best price I found on the Internet with quick shipping. This is my second 34813 cover. The first one I purchased used was around 5 years old sealed in the box. Motorhome is covered around 8 months of the year. I got close to three years before the Florida sun took its toll on the cover. Tyvex was starting to get very brittle and top seam came apart. The newer design elements are OK and will probably last through the warranty period. For me its worth the money to keep RV out of sun. Think I'll try silicon seam sealer on top stitching twice a year. 550484

Comments

Still holding up good. Think Adco could [] the new cinching straps on the four roof corners and instead fortify the rear bumper corners with an additional layer. This has been the first area to have holes on both covers Ive owned. The stitching has started unraveling near zipper for side door. Still worth having RV covered.

I like it! It looks good on for sure. Although. if you have ANY rough spots on your RV it will rub a hole in the cover. I’ve only put it on and have yet to remove it so hopefully there will be no surprises. Tip: before you cover your rig be sure and treat or protect any rough spots on your RV. I use cut to size plastic tubing with a slice down the side to cover any questionable area... it grips naturally and is easy to put on and remove. 670695

I am really happy with the quality of the product and the ease of installation. The only recommendation I have is I would think it would come from the factory rolled up ready to install. Otherwise, no complaints and I am happy with the cover. There is plenty of tie-downs and grommets etc. 669802

Review from a similar Adco All-Climate Plus Wind in RV Covers

Just got my ADCO cover (thanks for the fast delivery) and covered my travel trailer for the season. I store the trailer in an area with ruthless sun (altitude: 7200 feet) and wind. I think all covers in this environment perform disappointingly, judging by the experience of others at my storage facility. ADCO's tyvek cover seems to do the best for the money, usually giving me two solid seasons (three, if I am willing to do a little repair work). And covering the trailer according to the instructions can be done as a one-man job without too much difficulty. Makes the whole winterization issue much less intimidating. I don't actually use the included tire (tyre?) guards, as I prefer vinyl covers that I believe will block the sun and reflect heat away from the tires better. Thanks, ADCO and etrailer! 562873

After one year, the cover is hanging in there. Due to my work schedule, it had to keep my travel trailer covered all winter it survived a bomb cyclone that hit the area and most of the summer. It has one small tear that will be easy to fix, then it will go back on for the winter, as soon as I am finished with the trailer for the season.

Our experience with eTrailer was great! We had never done business with them before and found them on the internet while trying to find a new RV cover for our motor-home. Although they were not the first company listed in a "Google" search, they were the most competitive, and their service was amazing! Our order was acknowledged almost immediately, the cover was shipped out within a few hours (freight free), and it arrived right on time a few days later. The next time we need anything for our RV, there's absolutely no doubt we'll contact eTrailer again! 564028

Much better than expected! The Adco RV cover is much better than our last one....stronger, easier to use, and better in many ways. Theyve done a good job of improving what had been a good product...and making it even better!

The cover looks great and stalls easily and described in the literature. Unfortunately mine ripped during the winter in a few places. The top should be made of tougher material for winter conditions. 566908

Comments

I duct taped the tears, and most of the tape held last winter. The cover looks good, but the top needs to be a stronger material if you are living where is snow accumulation.

Cover came in mail promptly. Great product, fits perfect. High quality materials and easy to install. Strap system on the cover assures me this will last through anything shy of a hurricane. Has been in use for approx 1month and has been taken off and put back on with ease 3 times since recieving it. Tire covers work great too! I would recommend this cover! 679539

Review from a similar Adco All-Climate Plus Wind in RV Covers

I've had this cover for about a year. I've been very pleased so far. I was told by several friends that a cover would enhance the chances of mildew/mold. However, I have not had that problem to date. The material of construction allows a lot of breathing. The cover keeps my RV clean and protected from the sun!! The only reason I rated four stars instead of five is it is a little longer than what I think it should be, thereby preventing a perfect fit. This makes it a little harder to do a good tie-down and with high winds, it tends to shift a little. Overall, it's a great product and I would buy it again in a heartbeat!! 642133

ADCO Products met or exceeded my expectations. I have a 2019 Rockwood 2109S trailer, actual box length is 19’, I purchased the next size up cover (43841) - (20’1” to 22’0”), it not only covering my trailer box but also my propane tanks, ladder, and spare tire. Their attention to detail, is appreciated. They included covers for my rain gutter ends, extra grommet holes in strategic locations, and reinforcement on all corners, and four tire covers. I would happily recommend their products. 655273

This item was cheaper on etrailer then we could find anywhere else. The item arrived on time. I just got it installed today. Because i don't have a ladder on my trailer it was a little difficult to install the way the videos show however it wasn't that hard. I haven't gone through a winter yet with it so we shall see how it holds up to a harsh Utah winter. To be continued. 460758

Thanks for the email. The product over all is great and held up well over the first winter. It goes on easy enough for one person, product looks great, and the zipper are in a perfect location if I ever need to get insides. My only issues are three tears. I ended up ripping a buckle off the first tire cover I put on, the storage bag ripped when I picked it up from storage and I got a small tear in the bottom of the cover this year when covering the camper.

I would not recommend this cover. I purchased this cover for my travel trailer and in less than a year the seams started separating on the roof and the material in the front was deteriorating. I contacted ADCO and sent pictures and they agreed to send a replacement for $35. Since the new cover didn't make it one year I am reasonably sure the replacement will not last as well. They did offer to upgrade my new cover for a considerable price increase, however I felt they weren't giving me full credit for the damaged one. I asked how long the new cover would be guaranteed for and the reply was no guarantee, as this was the last one they were going to replace. I would not recommend this cover or ADCO because of their policies and product. 653695

This cover has met all of y expectations in the last year. It's simple to install and remove and the quality of the design and fabric is really nice. It's in place on my trailer all of the time when we're not traveling and looks nice too. I looked into several types of covers and this one seemed to be a bargain as well as a well made product. I had a few questions prior to the purchase and the etrailer staff went above and beyond to be sure I was taken care of. I referred back to their video a few times too, and having this resource is a plus. Thank you all !! 634749

Shipping was super fast. Thanks everyone who had apart in helping me out with questions (Bryan). The box is big and I hope to install the cover as soon as the snow melts here in Minnesota. I've bought a few of this brand of cover before. They hold up for a few years if you keep them on tight and snugged down from the wind. Padded at the sharp corners. Thanks Dino 611241

Review from a similar Adco All-Climate Plus Wind in RV Covers

I have experienced tears in a few places, and a break out of dark mold- like spots on the roof after using this cover over last winter. Since this is my first cover ever, and I do not know if other covers would tear this easily, i am giving benefit if the doubt and ranking this cover as good. 579867

Comments

Here are a few things to consider when choosing installing an RV cover. 1 Youll want to choose the cover closest in size to your RV. Choosing one thats too large or small can lead to tearing. 2 Make sure the cover is cinched down as securely as possible. Excessive movement can cause wear and tear on the cover, and eventually tears. 3 Youll want to make sure the RV is completely dry before installing a cover. Any moisture left on the surface of the RV can allow mold to form.

Like the cover and the convenience of access panel for the ability to get into the motor-home while the cover is on. However, it's made with very thin material and ripped a small hole in the top of the cover when it hooked on A/C unit during installation. We have a 34'3" motor-home and went with the 36 ft size as the manufacture recommends going to larger cover when size is close, but there is too much excess cover hanging off the back which flaps in the wind, even with the straps pulled to there limits. Would go with the smaller cover next time. 625537

Cover fit was good with plenty of tie down straps to hold securely. The zipper oppening is nice for re-entering the trailer without having to partially remove cover. We used tennis balls on all gutter spouts and any where there was something remotely sharp but still rubbed through the cover in 2 places a moth after installed. Like the white heavier top portion to protect and reduce heat. Yes I would recommend this cover and hope to get 3 years out of it. Doubt there are better covers at this price out there. The sun will take it's toll on any cover regardless of price payed, at this price it can be replaced . 615932

Review from a similar Adco All-Climate Plus Wind in RV Covers

ADCO trailer cover was bought to protect my new trailer from the winter sun, snow and falling debris from trees. Have used it for the first year and found it to be quite resilient. Cover is still in perfect condition after a snowy and windy winter here in NJ. Many campers complain about rips and tears especially at the corners near the rain spouts on all brands of covers. I used 4 tennis balls, slit and pushed onto the rain gutter spouts to prevent any tearing from wind and abrasion and it worked great. No damage to the cover was noted. The zipper panels allow access to the various storage compartment doors and the entry door. Zippers worked well. Wheel covers included in the purchase of the cover also worked well. Happy with the purchase and recommend it. 500846

Has been two NJ winters and trailer cover is still in great shape, no complaints! I did buy one that was one size larger than I needed but that was my fault in estimating the actual size of the trailer. Talked my friend with the same trailer into buying the same cover of the correct size and he has no complaints either. Is holding up well with no tears even at the corners. I installed old tennis ball over the rain gutter spouts at each corner. Corners are double layer to help with the strength of the cover. I would certainly recommend this cover for a travel trailer.

It fir our Coachmen Apex Nano perfectly. I found the quality and value to be very good. I thought that the instructions could be better. As a 50 + year old that does use technology, It would have been nice to have written instructions i could follow in the driveway vs the 1 page vague instructions and had to keep referring to cell phone vid. Overall I love the product and i'm happy I bought it 579518

Review from a similar Adco All-Climate Plus Wind in RV Covers

My cover has survived a very windy New England Winter with little wear. I had used pieces of gray pipe insulation to pad the gutter spouts, and snugged it down nice and tight. Yes that is snow, the snow arrived before I was ready for it. But making a snowball around the weight to throw the tie downs from side to side made it easier to find them in the green grass under my RV. It had several different events with winds of 50 to 60 mph to contend with, the worst it did was toss some snow buildup off the roof. I did have wear and tear at the exhaust pipe. Now I know to put a plastic flower pot over it, and I'll use a pair of larger flower pots on the rear bumper to prevent those friction locations too. Yes I'll buy one when this on finally wears out. The videos were helpful in putting it on and taking it off. I didn't try to put it in the bag provided. It is folded up in a 32 gal trash can with wheels because it is just easier to move around. 633107

Review from a similar Adco All-Climate Plus Wind in RV Covers

I haven't officially installed it yet because as I was unwrapping the packaging and removing the cover from the box, there was an "ADCO" tag advising to measure my RV according to the ADCO website instructions. Once I did that, I learned that I was three feet short with my initial understand of how long my RV was. By all means, measure from the bumper and or ladder (whichever sticks out further) to the front as described then use that measurement to order your cover. . . .Now I know! 504197

Delivered in 4days, easy enough to install myself. Alot of straps to tie down and cinch cover. I did open package in driveway to orient cover and fold to make installation easier from roof. I liked the little covers for gutter extensions too. 501644

  • Comparing Adco 5th Wheel Trailer Storage Covers 290-34856 and 290-52256
  • The main difference between the Adco 5th Wheel Trailer Covers # 290-34856 and # 290-52256 is that each is intended for a slightly different type of climate. Cover # 290-34856 is intended as an all-climate cover that is made to withstand wind, high sun exposure, high moisture and snow. AquaShed Cover # 290-52256 is intended specifically for wetter and warmer (moderate) climates where protection from moisture is a primary concern. So for example, if you live in the high desert then...

  • Recommended Best 5th Wheel Storage Cover for 2018 Grand Design Reflection 28BH
  • Based on my research the 2018 Grand Design Reflection 28BH is 33 feet 10 inches long. That will make the Adco # 290-34856 for up to 37 foot trailers you mentioned slightly long and not the best fit. I instead recommend the Adco RV Cover w/ Tyre Gards for 5th Wheel Trailer - All-Climate + Wind - Tyvek - 34' Long # 290-34855 will be the best fit for your trailer. It will have the same benefits but will be a better fit so it will work well and not require securing extra fabric to reduce...

The AquaShed is better suited for climates with humidity and rainfall whereas the Adco RV Cover w/ Tyre Gards for 5th Wheel Trailer part # 290-34856 that you referenced is better suited for climates with snowfall. The AquaShed is also more cost effective than the All-Climate.

  • Will the Adco Tyvek All-Climate Cover for a 37' Long RV Be Too Tight for a 36' 11" RV
  • I would stick with the Adco Tyvek All-Climate + Wind RV Cover for 5th Wheel Toy Hauler part # 290-34856 if your trailer measures to be 36'11" end to end. The reason for this is because the tighter fit you have, the better off you will be as you don't have to worry as much about securing the extra slack or the wind catching the slack and causing a tear. The cover can also be stretched and there is some wiggle room in the length limits so I think this will be the perfect size cover for your...
