Adco Olefin Installed

Summer is over, and you're worried about your fifth-wheel toy hauler getting dirty and damaged in storage during high winds, snow flurries, and spring thunderstorms. Whether you're storing your fifth wheel in the sunny south, rainy northwest, or snowy north, this heavy-duty cover is designed to protect your fifth wheel in any climate. When you keep your fifth wheel covered during the winter, you are less likely to need to wash and wax it at the start of the camping season. And if you want to trade your fifth wheel in for a newer model later down the road, this cover will help maintain that resale value.

The durable, high-density Olefin top panel won't crack or fade when exposed to harmful UV rays and won't let dirt and dust particles cake onto the surface of your fifth wheel. It also beads water when it rains to eliminate the black streaks and corrosion you tend to see on the sides and roof of your fifth wheel.

How to Measure Your Fifth-Wheel Toy Hauler

Adco How to Measure 5th Wheel Toy Hauler

To determine if this cover will work for you, measure the overall length of your fifth wheel from the very front to the rear bumper, making sure you're accounting for any spare tire carriers and ladders on the back. The cover isn't meant to fit over the kingpin of your fifth wheel, so don't include those in your measurements. Then measure the overall height from the bottom of the chassis to the top of your fifth wheel. Do not include any AC units, vents, or antennas in your height measurement, as the cover is already designed to accommodate them.

Securing the Cover onto Your Fifth-Wheel Toy Hauler

Adco Olefin Securing with Integrated Straps

The included ladder cap and rain gutter covers help prevent the cover from splitting on those areas of the fifth wheel, so install those first. Then unroll the cover and carefully spread it evenly around your fifth wheel, making sure you don't pull too hard and tear the fabric. Once the cover is in place, pull on the cinch ropes on the front and the rear until the cover fits snugly around the contours of your rig. These ropes remove any excess slack in the material, especially if your fifth wheel is slightly shorter in length. Then toss the weighted straps underneath your fifth wheel to the other side and buckle them together. These straps keep the cover secure on your fifth wheel, preventing it from flapping in the wind and damaging the paint job.

Adco Olefin Zippered Access Doors

And if you still need to winterize or if you need to access one of the cargo compartments, you can use the zippered panels on the passenger's side to easily access the interior of your fifth wheel without having to completely remove the cover. You can also unzip the entire panel on the back of the fifth wheel so you can load and unload gear into your fifth wheel.

Great fit, easy to secure, corners need better re-enforcement, we have mild winters but two corners still got torn even with gutter guards. I would purchase again as this cover is better than others that cost the same or more.

Comments
I am sorry to hear that the corners still tore with the use of gutter guards. High winds can be tough on these covers. Along with the use of gutter guards you can also use pool noodles along rough edges on the RV or trailer to help the longevity of the cover.

Review from a similar Olefin HD All-Climate RV Cover in RV Covers

I have a 34'8" Reflection 28BH 5th wheel RV. Good fit with plenty of straps to secure the cover to the RV. Very good quality with nice stitching throughout. Bulky and a bit too heavy to install by one person on this type of RV. Recommend having an assistant to help place it over the roof and obstacles such as the A/C unit and vent housings. Installation took about an hour. Much easier if one person is on the roof to pull it up, unroll it, and position the cover. Installation instructions are adequate, but watching a video helps with the procedure if you haven't done this before. Mating and positioning the strap ends required some trial and error for best fit. The zippered access openings are correctly placed to allow access to the side door. The rear panel provides access if you have a toy hauler. There are no wheel covers provided, and wheel coverage is about 75%. So far pleased with this ADCO cover.

Review from a similar Olefin HD All-Climate RV Cover in RV Covers

The website said this cover would fit my specific motorhome - An Entegra Vision 27A, which is 30' long 8.5' wide and 12'5" high including A/c and satellite. This cover is supposed to be "up to 31' long", but overlaps in the front and back at least 2' and doesn't reach all the way to the bottom of the coach. I'm afraid it might tear if I tighten the bottom straps too much. A couple of them barely reach all the way underneath the coach. Otherwise, it was fairly easy to put on and take off.

Comments
The dimensions of this cover are 31 feet long x 8 feet 10 inches wide x 9 feet 6 inches tall. I checked and we do not have a taller one to offer.

Review from a similar Olefin HD All-Climate RV Cover in RV Covers

Looks like a nice cover, but we bought it for a 20’ Carson Racer trailer and it’s more than a foot too short! The trailer measures exactly 20’ and it’s way too short! Bummer!!

Comments
You mentioned that it was too short. I wanted to make sure that are measuring the length of the front bumper to rear bumper including spare tire or ladder, where applicable and the sidewall height from the undercarriage to the top of the natural roof line.
-- Etrailer Expert Jenny N - 08/09/2022
Our trailer is an unmodified Carson Racer 20’ rectangle box. It measures exactly 20’ long. Cover was way too short! Ended up ordering the 20-22’ cover and it fits perfectly with a small amount of extra room. You can see in the picture that if we put the back end where it needed to be, it would not fit over the front at all! We tried positioning the top white part before letting the sides down. Nothing worked. Definitely not the right size by the manufacturer.
-- comment by: Chris - 08/09/2022
I am sorry that it was not a fit. With the camper being exactly 20 feet I recommend using the next size up cover which would be part # AD47ZR

Review from a similar Olefin HD All-Climate RV Cover in RV Covers

I have a 2018 Lance 1995. This is the right size cover for this trailer. This is a good universal type cover ,but it is not a custom fit. This cover looks like it will work fine, but since the trailer has a curved from section it does not fit as well in the front as it does in the back. I have had to use bungee cords to help take up the slack and make a area for water to drain off the roof. I had to decide to either cover the propane tanks or the read bumper. I chose the tanks. If you get the next size up there will be too much cover and you will have issues dealing with the extra material. This cover is just long enough to reach the bottom of the siding with no extra material. It was arrived quickly from E Trailer. I suggest watching the installation video. It was helpful.

The ADCO olefin cover works well. It fits and secures well for high winds, rain & snow.
No leaks or wear marks on finish after 6 months of use. It looks exactly the same as when I purchased it. It’s just been installed for the second year & I’m sure I will be reusing again in the following years.

Review from a similar Olefin HD All-Climate RV Cover in RV Covers

2 people installed the cover today in a light wind. I am a mechanical designer. I am not receiving any compensation for this review. This is our first cover going on our first RV. We ordered/received the the 22' long cover for the trailer which measures ~22' bumper to hitch ball plus some for the spare tire on the bumper. I am happy with the fit though it looks like it would fit a trailer whose "box" is about 3' longer and still go over the tanks and spare tire. I thought the ordering instructions said to include the tanks in the front and the bumper/spare tire in the back when determining the length.

There were no instructions except to "dull" sharp corners. The little foam tubes went on the gutter ends and I used black tape around sharp points on the bottom.

The only bad thing about the cover are the buckles/buckles: they worked but 1) they are too light duty, too weak, and the sections too thin in my opinion and 2) the design stinks because I want to hold the female end right where you press to release the buckle which was annoying but I figured out how to do it and it was more awkward than it needed to be considering other similar buckle types.

I got on the roof to pull the cover over from the side (not the front or back) over the ac, tv antenna, bathroom vent, etc and that worked well. It was too hard to pull the cover over the first top corner with me on a ladder and wife on the ground. If I could not get on the roof, we both would need to be on ladders. Or tie a rope to the straps and try to pull it over the top. Maybe try to pull it over from the front.

The fit is very good: good width, more than enough length and good height. I am glad the height was no taller so as to keep it from wrapping around the bottom which is sharp and the trim ends are sharp. We connected the underneath straps first, then the front and back then cinched the top and bottom corners to pull the whole thing tight along the perimeter.

All of the buckles are the same so I was able to repurpose some straps to wrap around the spare tire and bumper and connect to some other buckles for a better tie down arrangement. I would have liked a strap in the front middle to tie down under the tanks.

Otherwise, there are just the right number of straps underneath. I don't think more would help and less would make me nervous.

There are 2 flaps zipped on one side for a door at the front and/or the rear. I unzipped the front flap, sloppily rolled it up and attached the 3 velcro straps that hold the roll up. I had to undo 1 bottom strap from the flap so I need to rereview this after we have a good wind/rain storm but I think it will be ok. See pics. The trailer is parked in between a tree, shrubs, the house and the neighbors house so it is somewhat protected from some wind. Someone else may need to add a tie along the side bottom to take the place of the rolled up flap. When the flap is down, zipped, it is velcro'd at the bottom to the cover.

The perimeter cinch straps have a sleeve layered on top of the sleeve the strap is in which is great for 2 reasons. 1) you can stick your finger in it to grab it to push the cover back and pull out the strap, then 2) you can regrab it while pulling the strap through the buckle and keep the stress off the strap. This will keep the strap from scrapping and wearing while pulling through the buckle. I took pics and a video of this. And 3), this is another sleeve you can run a line through if needed.

Overall, I am very happy with this cover! It is reasonably thick material, aerated and the holes are covered with a flap to keep rain out, has a lot of straps which are well attached to the cover. The installation went better than expected at ~ 45 minutes and next time I expect to do it in half the time. The door access is a great feature. The cover went over the spare tire and the dual 20 lb tanks plus batteries in the front. One of the pics has the trailer model so you can see for yourself how well this cover fits this trailer. I expect this cover to last until a sharp corner some place tears a hole or the sun finally gets to it. The cover comes with a bag but I have not used it yet. And found a piece of velcro but not sure what for.

PS: Finally looked at the storage bag and found the instructions, self adhesive material to fix holes and weights that can be attached to the straps to throw underneath the vehicle (not over b/c the weight could break a window or make a dent) in a side pocket.

Review from a similar Olefin HD All-Climate RV Cover in RV Covers

The quality of this cover is great. I considered going with a cheaper cover but am glad I didn't. One note: I didn't measure the actual length of my trailer as the etrailer instructions recommended. It turns out it is 24 feet even though the trailer specs say 27 feet. It all worked out ok for me because the additional length of the cover protects the propane tanks and batteries but I will pay more attention to their recommendations in the future. The etrailer site is loaded with really good information. Thank you.

Review from a similar Olefin HD All-Climate RV Cover in RV Covers

The quality and fit are very nice. For reference, my Outdoor RV measured 20'10" and additional 16" for the spare tire for total 22'2" Plenty of room to install. The roof fabric was ample for the AC unit. Also noted the cover is full grey material and the white top is added over the grey to make the roof double thick which is a nice bonus. Please note that the manufacturer's paperwork says this cover is NOT water proof.

Review from a similar Olefin HD All-Climate RV Cover in RV Covers

Pretty easy to install by yourself if there’s no wind. The 22’ to 24’ cover fit perfectly on our 26’ TT (23’ box). Corners pull in nicely and end straps work well. Plenty of under-trailer straps. Zippers for entry to the TT door are nice. It’s not been on long so we’ll see how it does this winter.

Comments
Our cover has been on for one winter here on Colorado’s Easter slope. When I took it off in the spring of ‘22 it had a few tears and worn spots. Most worn or torn spots were at the solar panels and roof outcroppings. One tear was at a gutter where a cushion apparently fell off last fall. I thought it was worth patching and using it again this winter. I cut up a pool noodle to cover sharp edges before installing it this fall. I’ll be surprised if it makes it through this winter. Regardless, I’m satisfied with the protection it offered

This cover is an awesome fit and seems to be very well made. I have had a few covers on other campers we had and none fit this nice. I hope this holds up well it seems to be made well and I think the good fit will help.

Comments
I have had this cover for more than a year now and the cover is holding up very well. We have had some very high winds this year and there are no rips or even stress points. I love this cover so far.

Review from a similar Olefin HD All-Climate RV Cover in RV Covers

Didn’t last the year. The front portion that covers the propane tank area, it faces the sun here in Bakersfield, California. It’s just sun damaged and tearing and coming apart where ever you touch it. The sides and areas that aren’t directly facing the sun are still in tact. It gets 110*
In the summer and summer lasts 6 months, need to get another cover, just won’t be this one. The tire covers work fine.

Comments
The sun can take a toll on RV covers however the cover does have a three-year warranty. I am happy to send you the warranty details if interested.

  • Is There an Adco Travel Trailer Cover that Can Fit a 106 inch Wide Trailer
Typically a trailer that is 106 inches wide is a fifth wheel camper which we have an Adco storage cover that would accommodate this with part # AD79ZR as it can fit campers up to 108 inches wide but if it's a bumper pull trailer we don't have anything that would work for that since max width for this style is typically 100 inches.
