Video Transcript for All About the Gustafson RV Drawer Pull Handle

Hey guys, Randy here at etrailer.com. Today we're going to be taking a look at some door pulls from Gustafson Lighting. Basically, this is going to be a very quick and very easy way to really update the look of your RV. RVs are of course becoming very, very popular. And restoring some older ones like this are also becoming quite popular. You can see this is our older pull that was on there.

Just the old normal dated nineties kind of situation.You can see by just removing a couple of screws here on the back we're able to get that replaced very quickly, again, very easily, and it kind of freshens it up. You can imagine if we put these on all of our other five locations here, it's going to give it a much nicer, updated, clean look.I think this would be a real nice touch. Especially you go through your RV with them, make them look really nice. It feels good. There's no sharp edges or anything really like that to deal with.

Each end is kind of squared off. And it has the satin nickel finish, which if you get a look there, almost like a brushed nickel. It's a little bit of a silver to it, or mainly a silver to it. And then just a little bit of design in there. I like that.

Think that that's going to prevent when they do eventually get scratched or something like that from it really standing out as compared to a high gloss finish.And the really important thing to remember, just to ensure it's going to work for you is that from the center here to the center here, we're looking for three inches. So just want to get out our tape. We'll start at two inches. So the other end, we're looking for five, and you can see it just hits dead center there. So it's going to be a perfect fit.

It will replace your current handles and get you back looking nice and kind of freshened up.To just give you an idea of size. We know what the mounting holes are, but you can see from top to bottom, we're right at, it's just going to be about three and 15/16th of an inch or four inches. The width is right at one half of an inch. And then from our mounting surface there to the upper most edge, you could call it an inch. It's really, you get about 15/16ths there at its tallest point. But really no different than any standard dimensions on most handles. The older one we had, it had a little bit more of a spread there. You see, it took up a little bit more room there on top and bottom, but pretty standard for your three inch range in that size.Now, as far as the replacement process, of course, we need to get our old handle removed, but this is also where you're going to check to make sure that you have the three inch centers. So once you open that, you look on the backside. See, we've got a screw here and a screw here. We just want to make sure that those are on three inch centers. And this is going to be a great replacement.At that point, it's going to use our Phillips screwdriver. Most of these are Phillips, I guess sometimes you might run into a flat head or something, but nine times out of 10 you're just going to need a Phillips screwdriver. I'm just going to take both of those out. With that the handle's just going to come off. And we want to hang onto those. We'll reuse them when we put our new handle in. We're going to bring that replacement up. Just need to align those holes with the original screws there. Get one started. Get our other one started. Then we can tighten them down. It's just pretty quick and easy replacement and a great way to make it look a lot nicer.
