To ensure you get the correct size awning for your slide-out, measure from outer edge to outer edge of the trim. You will need 7" of clearance on both sides of the slide-out for the awning. If you dont have 7" clearance on both sides, go down to the next size; this will still give your slide-out plenty of coverage.
If there are two slide-outs next to each other, you will need a total of 14" of clearance between them for them both to have a slide-out awning. Again, you can go down a size if you are low on space.
Without a slide-topper, the roof of your slide-out room is continually exposed and can accumulate leaves and bugs and different types of debris. That debris can build up along the rubber strip at the top of your box, preventing a firm seal when your slide-out is retracted. Rain water can then get in and pool on the top of your slide-out. If you don't clear the water off each time it rains, mold can begin to form. And when your slide-out is pulled in, that mold gets inside your RV.
The Solera RV slide-out awning alleviates those problems by serving as a protective covering over the top of your RV's slide-out. Not only does it prevent debris from collecting on the roof of your slide-out, but it keeps water from pooling and potentially causing damage down the road. Because it mounts directly to the front of the slide box, the slide-out awning is able to automatically extend and retract every time the slide-out room is extended or retracted.
The durable awning fabric holds up to the rigors of the outdoors. It's made of premium 13.5-oz vinyl, which is an upgrade over the 10-oz fabric used in many awnings. This fabric also features heat-welded seams to prevent leaks. And it is made to withstand cold temperatures down to -25 degrees Fahrenheit, so it won't crack or degrade during the winter.
Use the self-tapping screws to secure the included access plate to the side of your slide-out, positioning the plate at the bottom of the T-molding. The two access brackets slide easily onto the access plate's track. The rods that are located at each end of the roller tube, which comes with the awning fabric already mounted, slide through the hole in the two access brackets.
The included awning rail is used to anchor the other side of the fabric to your RV. This rail can be mounted up to 5" above the trim on top of your slide box.

My advice, if your RV is slide topper ready, consider putting the slide rail a couple inches higher. I had a feeling it was gonna be an issue and it is. The manufacturer suggested placement is too low and they sit flat and catch even the lightest rain. We just put a beach ball under ours cuz the rain will not run off. Otherwise I'm sure the product is fine, but please take my word for it, there needs to be a higher rise for the rain to dry. I raised our last RV toppers and no issues at highway speeds. I wish the manufacturer would actually test their product and installation instructions before putting it on the market.
Slide topper, rail, and hardware arrived with no damage. LCI installation instructions were somewhat vague. installation videos help. I would suggest the instructions add directions to pre-drill all holes in the unit. and display which way the rail should be installed, and whether you line the rail up on top or bottom of the 3" mark. First time I installed slide topper it took 2.5hrs with another persons help sliding in place. All in all installation went fairly smooth.
The product was as described and installed easily. However, the hardware needs to be protected better for shipping. The brackets for my slide topper are white. The brackets were scuffed and scratched when I unpacked them.
No complaints. The awning is holding up well. It was exposed to a few months of constant use/extended as our camper was parked at a campground in TX during summer. When the time came to pack up the camper, all worked well.

Still holding up well. We are not using the cmaer ocasionaly but the awning still looks good.
I would like to leave a positive review (5 stars) for the Solera Slide Toppers that I bought from etrailer.
I bought the 12.5" and 8" both white with white hardware. I was trying to find where to leave the review
on the web site but was unable to do so..
I have to say, they were very easy to install. Anyone who can use a hand drill and a caulk gun can install these.
I put them on in only a few short hours and they turned out very nice. I posted it to a page on FB and got over 121
thumbs up and around 60 positive comments. Folks were telling me that my post was inspirational enough to them
that they wanted to add these toppers to their RV. Thanks for the great product and for the price match that you guys guarantee!!

Having a slide-out cover makes getting ready on travel day so much easier. No more climbing on the roof and brushing off leaves and water.
Awning has been up over our slideout continuously for the past year and is still in good condition. Only problem we have had, is when snow on it melts, and reforms as ice, it freezes the cover so it cannot move and it bangs in the wind. Just have to get the ladder out and break the ice up, no big deal really.
The awning was very easy to install and works great. It keeps debris off of the extension. The instructions were very easy to follow. We are very happy with this awning.

The awning has held up very well. Couldnt be happier.
The product would be great if it had been the correct size noting this was the second shipment for the first was wrought color and damaged
Please note this company is always on top of it.

Carol, I wanted to send you photos of how I received my two packages from the freight company. Y'all have been great to deal with but the delivery method needs improving. As long as my awnings are not missing any parts and are not damaged, I will be happy. But I just got back home and found the boxes like this. I thought you would want to know.
This Solera slide out awning is well made and a good design making for a fairly simple and straightforward installation. Pretty much can install the unit with one person up to the point of slide the awning into the awning rail. The one issue I had, hence took one star away, was not enough awning rail screws were sent, I was short 11 screws, only sent 20. The instruction said to put a screw in very hole of the awning rail to camper attachment. So I drilled all the holes for that connection and then was short 11 screws to fill all the holes.
We purchased 4 new awnings for our unit. 3 for slides and 1 for the shade over the entry. We followed the measurement instructions and when we received them 1 unit was too long because it interferred with the awning arms of the shade for the door. I reached out so that we could get a shorter one and the freight was over half the cost of the new awning. We were disappointed with the service at that time. Now a year later another awning has proven to be too long and the bars seem to extend the end caps so far away from the slide that they bend inwards. While we were camping I had to cut away the awning to prevent any additional damage to our slide. So in looking back, I do not feel they have the expertise to accurately sell this product.
The Awning kit was received on time and the installation went smoothly. Very happy with the product.
This awning was packaged well and it arrived undamaged, however, when I took it out of the package the top rail was bent and the groove where the awning slides in was damaged. I was able to open the groove by bending and it was still serviceable. The hardware package had been opened previously, but nothing was missing. On the bead end of the vinyl where it is glued together was not glued properly. It was on the leading end of the awning so it would take a beating while driving. I repaired it with super glue and hopefully it will hold properly. Those are my complaints and why I gave it only 3 stars. On the other hand, the instructions were thorough and easy to follow. The hardware installation was straight forward and was completed without issue.
I have purchased from etrailer for years and have been very satisfied with the service and quality of their products. This one didn’t measure up due to the factors above.
Delivery went well, slight damage to tube, contents were fine. Install was pretty simple, following video from etrailer. Very pleased with quality of topper n look of it on our Camper which is a 2021 Keystone Passport. I've ordered a few things from etrailer n haven't ever had an issue.
Perfect fit for my Coachmen Clipper 17BHS slide out. Install was easy with the etrailer install video! They cover every step in the video and explain assembly better than the supplied instructions. Works great at keeping out the leaves, hoping it works to help keep water out of the slide out seams too.
Jo Ann was helpful in the sale of this product. The delivery on the other hand was not what I expected. It was not delivered to my house I like was told. I had to go to the post office to pick it up. Not sure why any company would ship a 7Ft Item by USPS. It did come in one undamaged I am missing some hardware. Will try to get that at the local hardware. That is way the lower score. The topper is very nice.
