Features to know about

Extra Power

If you've got more RV to cool, or you're chasing summer across the Southwest, a standard AC unit might not cut it. This 15,000 Btu rooftop system from GE Appliances gives you more cooling power for bigger rigs, hotter climates, or anyone who just wants to beat the heat. It gives you more muscle to handle hot days, high ceilings, and sun-baked campgrounds without breaking a sweat.

Ties Into Your Existing Ductwork

This ducted air conditioner pushes cooled air through the vents in the ceiling, delivering consistent airflow across multiple rooms in your RV. With a GE ducted system, the rooftop unit connects to a ceiling assembly that ties into your existing ductwork, giving you whole-RV comfort with a clean, built-in look. It's a great choice for larger RVs or anyone who wants to control airflow from front to back, not just in the room below the AC. If you already have ducts in place, this setup gives you full-zone cooling without compromising space or layout.

A Smarter, Future-Ready Choice

A lot's changed in RV cooling over the years, and one of the biggest shifts is what's inside the system - not just the tech, but the refrigerant itself. This model uses R-32, a newer refrigerant that cools efficiently while producing significantly less environmental impact. It's cleaner, more future-friendly, and already becoming the standard across the industry. If you're replacing an aging unit, you're not just upgrading your airflow you're upgrading what's behind it.

Video Transcript for Review of GE Appliances RV Air Conditioners - 15000 Btu White Deluxe Plus Ducted AC - GE95ZR

Hi everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a real quick look together at this GE Appliances 15,000 BTU white deluxe plus ducted RV air conditioner system. Now this is going to be a great option to consider if you're looking to upgrade or add an air conditioner system on your RV's ducted system in your medium to large camper. And this 15,000 BTU per hour air conditioner is going to cool evenly, it's gonna handle harsh road conditions, all from a brand that you know and trust. Now this does use the more energy efficient R-32 refrigerant, which is going to meet the 2025 EPA regulations. So because of that, this unit is not going to be backwards compatible with any air conditioner system from 2024 and earlier.

This is going to be a bolt-on installation with the included hardware that you see right there. And this is going to fit roofs from two inches to six inches thick with an opening size of 14 3/8 inches long by 14 3/8 inches wide. And looking at the dimensions of just the unit itself, the overall length is pretty close to 32 13/16 inches long, the overall width is right at 26 1/8 inches wide, and the overall height is about 13 15/16 inches tall. The unit itself weighs a little under 80 pounds. So this is gonna run quietly because the motor has sound dampening grommets to help reduce that annoying humming and vibration noises.

And this should be a pretty easy swap for most RVs. This is going to seamlessly install over your roof's preexisting roof vent opening. And this is also built tough. This is built from high grade materials. That's gonna do a great job of withstanding extreme UV rays and that constant vibration you get when you're going down the road.

And this white hard automotive grade polymer shroud is gonna do a great job of protecting the internal components from dirt, dust, debris, water, things like that. And this also includes a wiring harness, which is going to be tucked in underneath, so it's gonna be very easy to pull down and get that installed. Now I do wanna point out before we move on that you should keep the rear of the AC at least 18 inches away from any obstructions when you get this installed. Let's take a closer look at this side of the table so I can show you the individual components that's included with this kit. So you are going to get this air distribution box, and this is also built to handle road vibrations and everyday RV life.

Let me flip this over here just so you can see the side that's gonna go inside the ceiling. And so when you have this installed into the ceiling of your RV, this is not going to stick down much at all, about maybe 5/8 of an inch or so. So this will not take up a whole lot of head space in your camper, which is nice. This also includes this white thermostat. Let me bring it up a little bit closer so you can see. And so this does have easy to use buttons. This is a single zone thermostat, has a really nice, clear, large display that's going to be backlit. So it's gonna be very easy to adjust your settings and view your settings at a glance in all light conditions. And then it does include hardware to get that installed on your wall. And then you're also going to get this control box or this control board. And as you know, this is the brain that manages how your air conditioner operates. So this is going to also be included with this system. And this is coming all from a name that you know and trust, especially for home appliances. GE is known for making very reliable, trustworthy appliances for the home. So you're gonna be bringing that same trust and reliability into your RV. And if this isn't exactly what you're looking for, maybe you don't need a 15,000 BTU unit, we do have 13,500 BTU rated units. We have a black shroud instead of a white shroud. We've got systems that'll work with ductless systems instead of ducted, which this one will work with. All that to say we do have other options available from GE. So avail yourself to those other options that we carry if this isn't exactly what you're looking for. But if you do decide that this is gonna work for you, once you get this installed and up and running, we would love to hear back from you regarding your experience regarding the installation and the operation. So you can do that by sharing a comment on this product page or leaving us a review on this product page. That would be very helpful as well. And if you have any photos of what this looks like on your rig, we would love to see that as well. Well, I think that's gonna wrap up our look today. I do hope that our brief time together was helpful for you. Again, my name is Andy. Thank you for joining me.

  • Replacement for Dometic Duo 13k on 2008 Keystone Passport Ultra Lite 285RL
Hey Maurice! We no longer recommend swapping out just the AC unit since there have been a lot of compatibility issues. Also, everything is switching to the new R32 refrigerant due to the new 2025 EPA regulations. The old parts for R410A units are already being phased out so it is a good idea to switch so you don't have to replace everything later if something fails. Sticking with the Advent Air you looked at you can choose from the following: -Advent Air RV Air Conditioner System - Single...

  • Replacement AC for Coleman Mach 7000 on 2003 Fleetwood Discovery 38U
Hey Keith! I just got your questions so I'll address everything on this one. All of the replacement AC units have switched to the new R32 refrigerant so a complete replacement is necessary. This will include a wall thermostat so you don't have to worry about compatibility or if the existing one even works. The GE AC you were looking at will work as a replacement for the Coleman. The correct system will depend on whether you have a ducted or ductless setup, the color, and if you want the...

  • Parts Needed to Upgrade From 13,500 BTU GE Air Conditioner to 15k GE Air Conditioner
Hi Kevin; since your camper is a 2023 you probably have an old R410A GE AC on there right now. If you can find an old R410A 15k GE in stock somewhere you can swap it out with the existing AC. If none are available, you will have to replace the entire system. All of the GE units we have now use the new R32 refrigerant so they're compliant with new EPA regulations. These are not backwards compatible so you can't simply swap out the AC unit on top. You will need one of the following: -GE...

  • Replacement AC for 41' KZ Trailer
Hi Larry; there have been too many compatibility issues with plug and play replacements so we no longer recommend it. You don't want to go through the installation process only to find nothing works. Instead, we recommend complete replacement. That might sound like a hassle but since all of the AC units have switched to the new R32 refrigerant, and they aren't backwards compatible, now is a great time to swap everything out. This also means old R410A parts are no longer being manufactured...
