Hi, everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a real quick look at this GE Appliances 13,500-BTU White High-Efficiency RV Air Conditioner with Heat Pump. Now, this is going to be a great option for you to consider if you're looking to upgrade or add an air conditioner on your RV's ducted or ductless system in your small to medium-sized camper, and this high-efficiency 13,500-BTU per hour air conditioner is going to cool down the inside of your RV or camper evenly and efficiently. And as I said, this does have a built-in heat pump for those chilly mornings, and this is all coming from a brand name that you know and trust. This does use some more energy-efficient R-32 refrigerant, which is gonna meet the 2025 EPA regulations. So, because of that, this unit will not be backwards-compatible with any air conditioner system from 2024 and earlier.
This will be a bolt-on installation, but you're not gonna receive hardware for installation, you're just going to receive the unit itself. Now, you will need a compatible air-distribution box, which does come with the bolts, and then the control box, which is the brains of the operation, and then a thermostat, and those items will make a complete setup for this air conditioner unit. So, if you don't have those other components that are compatible with this unit or compatible with the R-32 refrigerant, the good news is we do carry complete air conditioning systems from GE here at etrailer.com, so you just need to find the system that's gonna work best for you, whether you need one for your ducted or ductless system, and I'm confident you're gonna be able to find the system that's going to work just for your particular application. This will fit roof from two to six-inches thick, with an opening size of 14 3/8-inches long by 14 3/8-inches wide. And going over some dimensions here of the unit itself, the overall length from end to end is gonna be 32 13/16-inches long, the overall width is 26 1/8-inches wide, and the overall height is 13 15/16-inches tall, and this weighs just under 80 pounds.
So, this is gonna run pretty quietly for you because the motor has sound-dampening grommets to help reduce the annoying vibration and humming noises. And this does include a heat pump, and that heat pump, as you probably know, pulls warmth from the air to heat the inside of your RV or camper on those chilly mornings, and this is going to be a pretty easy swap for most RVs because this is going to seamlessly install over your roof's preexisting roof vent opening. And I know you probably can't see too well from that view, but we do have foam pads at the base here that is going to act as insulation between the unit and the roof of your camper, so it's gonna, again, cut down on that vibration and noise. It's gonna be excellent support for it, and of course you got that gasket there that's over the opening that will seal over the opening in between your unit and the roof of your RV. Now, this is built tough for the road.
It's constructive high-grade materials, so this is gonna do a great job of withstanding extreme UV rays and constant vibration. This does have a white, hard, automotive-grade polymer shroud that's going to protect the internal components from water and debris. It's gonna be able to be easily removed as well if you need to do any maintenance or cleaning. It's secured in place with two Phillips-head screws on either side. It does include a wiring harness as well.
That's gonna be tucked in underneath this unit, so I thought it would be more beneficial to show you a picture of those connection points there. So, you're just gonna pull the harness out from underneath this air conditioner and pull it through that opening in the roof of your RV and plug it into place. You do want to keep the rear of this unit at least 18 inches away from any obstructions for proper airflow. And again, this is from GE, a trusted name brand for appliances, especially in the home, so that trustworthiness and that reliability that you know from GE in the home can be brought into your RV with this air conditioner. And if this is going to be the one that's gonna work best for you, we would love to hear back from you regarding your experience with the installation and the operation of this unit, and you can do that by dropping us a comment or a review on this product page, letting us know your experience with this unit and how everything is working out with this for you and your rig. Well, that's gonna wrap up our look today. I do hope that our time together was helpful for you. Again, my name is Andy, thank you for joining me.
