Your RV needs better cooling in the summer, and a little heat on cold mornings won't hurt either. This GE Appliances rooftop unit pulls double duty with efficient AC and a builty-in heat pump that takes the edge off when temps dip.
Heating with propane brings two problems: it costs more than you think, and you're never sure if you have enough to get through the night. This rooftop unit with a built-in heat pump changes that. The heat pump uses electric power to take the edge off cold mornings, so your furnace doesn't have to do all the work. You get reliable warmth through the same ceiling assembly you use for cooling, and the more you heat with electric, the less propane you burn. It's one less system to manage, and one more reason you can camp longer without thinking about your fuel gauge.
Looking to stay cool without stressing your electrical system? This high-efficiency unit delivers full-capacity cooling with a focus on energy-conscious performance. It's built for RVers running on smaller generators, limited shore power, or older rigs with tight electrical margins, so you stay comfortable without overloading your setup.
Ductless air conditioners move air straight into the RV without relying on ceiling ductwork, making them ideal for smaller rigs, retrofits, or any setup where simplicity matters. With a ductless system, what you see is what you get: a rooftop unit connected directly to a ceiling assembly that pushes steady airflow into your living space. They're also perfect for adding a second AC to areas that never cool down properly, like an upper bunk or bonus room. If your RV has no ductwork, a ductless setup gives you cooling power you can feel.
A lot's changed in RV cooling over the years, and one of the biggest shifts is what's inside the system - not just the tech, but the refrigerant itself. This model uses R-32, a newer refrigerant that cools efficiently while producing significantly less environmental impact. It's cleaner, more future-friendly, and already becoming the standard across the industry. If you're replacing an aging unit, you're not just upgrading your airflow you're upgrading what's behind it.

Hi, everybody. Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a real quick look together at this GE Appliances 13,500 BTU black, high efficiency ductless RV air conditioning system with heat pump. Now this is going to be a great option for you to consider if you're looking to upgrade or add an air conditioner system on your RV's ductless system in your small to medium sized camper. This high efficiency 13,500 DTU per hour air conditioner is going to cool down the inside of your RV evenly and it also has a built-in heat pump for those chilly mornings. Now this is going to use the more energy efficient R-32 refrigerant, which is going to meet the 2025 EPA regulations, so because of that, this is not going to be backwards compatible with any air conditioning systems from 2024 and earlier.
This will be a bolt on installation with the included hardware that you see right here. And this is going to fit roofs from two inches to six inches thick with an opening size of 14 and 3/8 inches long by 14 and 3/8 inches wide. And giving you some measurements here of the unit itself, the overall length from end to end is right at 32 and 13/16 inches long. The overall width, 26 and 1/8 inches wide. The overall height, 14 and, I'm sorry, 13 and 15/16 inches tall.
And the unit itself weighs a little under 80 pounds. So this is going to run pretty quietly for you because the motor has sound dampening grommets to help reduce that annoying vibration and humming sound. And as I mentioned, this does include a heat pump and as you know, heat pumps pull warmth from the air to heat your RV on those chilly mornings. So that is included with this. And this is gonna be a pretty easy swap for most RVs.
This is going to seamlessly install over your roof's preexisting roof and opening. The unit has been built tough and it's constructed of high grade material so this is gonna do a great job of withstanding extreme UV rays and that constant vibration that's common from your RV going down the road. This also has a black hard automotive grade polymer shroud. So that's gonna do a great job of protecting those internal components from dirt, debris, and water. And it's gonna be able to be easily removed as well if you ever need to do any maintenance or cleaning.
And then the wiring harness is tucked in underneath. So all you have to do is pull that harness down through the opening of your roof when you're installing this. And you do wanna keep the rear of this air conditioner unit at least 18 inches away from any obstructions. Now let's take a look on this side of the table here. Going over the components that's gonna be part of this. Air distribution box here is built to handle road vibrations as well in everyday RV life. Giving you some measurements, looking at the width and the length, it's gonna be 21 inches. And then when you have this installed in your ceiling, it's gonna stick down about 2 to 2 and 1/2 inches or so. So it doesn't take up a whole lot of head space at all. This black thermostat is included. We have these easy to use buttons. This is a single zone thermostat and it's gonna be very easy to install with the included hardware. We do have a really nice large digital display that's also backlit, so you're gonna be able to easily see your settings and set your settings. And then the control box is also included with this. And as you probably know, this is the brains of the operation. This is what controls how your air conditioning operates and everything like that, so this unit is included. And as I mentioned, the hardware, the air divider here. So everything that you're going to need to get this system up and running, all from the trusted GE brand, a reliable name that everyone worldwide knows and trusts, especially for appliances inside the home. You're gonna bring that trust and reliability into your RV.
