Video Transcript for Review of Furrion RV Air Conditioners - Chill Black 15000 Btu HE Low Profile Replacement AC - FR79AD

Hi, everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a brief look together at this Furrion Chill Black 15,000 BTU, high efficiency, low-profile, replacement RV roof air conditioner unit. Now, as you probably know, too often, air conditioners on top of your RV or camper are the reason why you can't pull into your garage without scraping up the top of that air conditioner. And because of that air conditioner, you probably can't camp under that low tree canopy. So maybe you start looking for some low-profile options, only to find that many of those low-profile air conditioners are either underpowered, they're uncomfortably loud, or they're still too bulky, worse, some are just, those are standard units in shorter housing. So what that means is less airflow, more noise, and really nothing solved in the long run.

This air conditioner is going to help solve those problems. This system does run quietly enough that you're gonna be able to sleep through it. And it does draw less power, so you can go off grid with confidence. This will clear garages where standard units don't, but it's still gonna deliver that cooling performance that you'd expect from something that's twice this size. This 15,000 BTU per hour air conditioner, it's going to be ideal for your small to medium RVs, campers, or trailers.

And this is going to use more energy, of the more energy efficient R-32 refrigerant. That's gonna meet the 2025 EPA regulations. So this air conditioner will work with your existing R-32-compliant components from Furrion, but this is not going to be backwards compatible to safely operate with any components or an air conditioner system from 2024 or earlier. So you do wanna make sure that all of your components are going to be R-32 compliant. You will need an air distribution box with this and a thermostat and a controller if you don't already have that, this is just gonna be for the AC unit itself.

But again, all those components do need to be R-32 compliant. This is going to fit roof openings of 14 inches by 14 inches. And let's go over some measurements of this unit. This unit, even though it's low-profile, is going to be a little bit longer than some of your standard units. So the overall length is gonna be right at 41 and 9/16 inches long.

The overall width is going to be 29 and 1/8 inches wide, and then our height is a little bit under 10 inches. Technically, it's 9 and 15/16 inches tall. So that's quite a difference from your standard profile RV ACs, because typically, they can be anywhere from 12 to 16 inches tall. So being a little bit under 10 inches, you're gonna get quite a bit of clearance with this low-profile air conditioner. The weight is a little bit under 90 pounds. And so this unit is going to do a great job of adapting to your environment by keeping the inside of your camper at that optimal comfort level that you're looking for. Well, while you have the auto mode enabled, this air conditioning unit is going to automatically adjust to the most appropriate function, whether that's cooling, whether that's running just the fan, or dehumidify, based on the conditions inside of your RV. But if you do prefer more control, this air conditioner can be adjusted with a wall-mounted thermostat. Now, on your screen, I'm popping up a few graphics there for you just to show what this looks like with the cover removed. So this is an overhead view. The cover's gonna be very easy to remove, you just remove some screws here, pop this cover off if you need to do any maintenance, clean it out, or what have you. And then I'm giving you another photo as well, just kind of a side profile there. Again, just giving you a nice view of the inside of this unit. And this low-profile rooftop AC is going to boast a dual motor system. So what that means for you is that's going to cut the running noise to assist with giving you a more peaceful cabin on the inside. This does include a heat pump, so that's gonna pull warmth from the air to heat up your RV on those chilly mornings. And I didn't have room for it on my table, but I did want to show you that this does also include this mounting frame assembly and duct divider. So this will be included with the unit along with instructions to guide you through the installation and the operation. So with this air conditioner unit, you're gonna be able to pull into your garage or campsite without scraping up against anything. And you're gonna be able to enjoy the looks of your rig as well, because with this unit on top, you're not gonna have some big ugly looking brick-like device on top, really wrecking up the profile of your camper or RV. And it's gonna be whisper quiet as we said. So you're gonna be able to enjoy catching up with your family, and maybe even watch a little bit of TV before bed, all being very comfortable in the cool air that this air conditioner is going to provide. If you do pick this up, we want to hear back from you so you can share your experience with us by dropping a comment or leaving a review on this product page. And if you have any other additional questions, don't hesitate to give us a call. We'd love to help you out. Well, that's gonna wrap up our look today. I do hope that it was helpful for you. Again, my name is Andy, thank you for joining me.

  • Looking for RV AC Unit to Replace Coleman Mach
Hey Rick, so we don't have any upper AC units that will plug right into the lower units you have now as we have found that mixing and matching brands just doesn't work consistently enough. Only solution we have would be all new units to replace what you have but are you wanting to keep your current thermostat setup? If so, we can't really guarantee what we have would work with it as it's a similar situation. Is your setup ducted or does the vent blow straight down from the vent assembly? For...
