Hi, everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a look at this Advent Air Black Low-Profile 15,000 BTU RV Air Conditioner System. Now this low-profile air conditioner unit is gonna let you replace, upgrade, or add a new air conditioner to your RV or camper. And this system includes this air distribution box with built-in thermostat, a start capacitor, and an electric heat strip. Now, the low-profile design of this air conditioner is going to minimize wind resistance to help improve your fuel efficiency and give you additional overhead clearance. And this 15,000 BTU per hour air conditioner is going to do a great job of quickly and efficiently cooling down the inside of your RV or camper.
This is gonna be compatible with ducted and ductless systems and this is a bolt-on installation with the included hardware that you see there at the end of my table. So this is gonna be great for your motor homes, your travel trailers, and your fifth wheels. However, I do wanna make you aware of the fact that this has not been approved to work with your school buses, your food trucks, enclosed utility trailers, or off-roading vehicles, just so you're aware of that. Now, this is going to fit roofs from 2 1/2 inches to five inches thick with an opening size of 14 1/4 inches long by 14 1/4 inches wide. And let me go over some measurements with you of this unit, just so you have a good idea of its size.
Measuring from the front to the back, the overall length is about 31 inches long. The overall height from top to bottom, we're sitting at about 10 1/8 inches wide. Tall, rather. And then the overall width, we're looking at about 24 15/16 inches wide. And the cover on this particular model is black, but we do also offer this same unit with a white cover.
And I'm gonna go ahead and pull that cover off. I went ahead and loosened and removed the screws before our time together just to make that go a little bit quicker. But I wanted to give you a good view of the inside so you see it from that angle. But let me give you an overhead view, and hopefully that'll be a better view of the inside for you. This air conditioner does feature a fan blade with a three-speed motor that will give you ample airflow at 500 cubic feet per minute.
This also features a condensation dispersion system, which is going to increase the cooling efficiency by managing moisture to prevent water runoff. So hopefully, you have a nice look there inside. I'm gonna go ahead and replace our cover, but while I do, I do wanna point out this cover is a. (cover thudding) hard plastic cover. And in my opinion, it's a pretty thick size, a pretty thick piece of plastic. I have dealt with other RV air conditioners in the past, and sometimes their covers can be kind of thin, kind of flimsy. I don't feel that's the case with this Advent Air Cover. Feels like it's a durable piece of plastic that I think is going to hold up really well for you. I think it's gonna do a great job of protecting the internal components from water, and debris, and things like that. It fits snugly over the air conditioner and it's gonna be pretty easy to remove and replace. And if you needed to do some maintenance or anything like that, maybe you wanted to clean out the inside before RV season, camping season begins, you're just gonna remove those Phillips head screws, pop the cover off, do whatever maintenance you need to do, and then replace the cover and replace those screws, and you'll be good to go. Another thing I wanted to mention is this air conditioner does feature a rigid metal frame. And you probably can't see it, but we do at the bottom, have very thick foam support pads that's going to provide great support between the roof of your RV and this air conditioner. And then the gasket is going to seal the opening to prevent water seepage and air leaks. And those foam pads are going to help reduce noise after this is installed on the roof of your RV or camper. Now, let's take a closer look here at this side of my table and go over the components. First off is our air distribution box. And this does have adjustable registers at the front and the back, so you can direct that air wherever you want it for the maximum comfort inside of your RV or camper. We also have a removable air filter, and you'll just push pull back on those tabs, remove that cover, and you're gonna be able to remove that filter to clean it. And that's gonna help prevent buildup of dust and dirt on the fan blades. And then our built-in thermostat controls, they're gonna control the fan speed and the temperature settings. And then the components, the internal components are aluminum, so you're not gonna have to worry about rust and corrosion. I have this air distribution box set up on blocks here, but let me just go ahead and give you an over overview look here. So you see one of the registers there. And then bringing this over on the other side, you see the other register. So this is basically how it's going to be installed, and you'll put this up into your ceiling. And this is about 3 1/2 inches thick. So that's how far. Just about how far this is going to be extending from your ceiling. And then turning this over here, give you a view of the flip side of this air box, air distribution box. So this is included, just to give you an idea of the size. The overall length of our box is about 22 1/2 inches long. The overall width, we're sitting about 21 1/2 inches wide. We'll go ahead and prop this back up and then we'll look over the start capacitor that's also included with this. So as you probably know, this start capacitor is going to jumpstart this air conditioner unit when maybe the campsite that you're at or the generator that you might be using isn't just providing that power that you're needing to start your air conditioner. So this is going to store energy that's gonna later be used for your next startup. This is gonna be a very simple install inside of the air conditioner unit and some screws are included to get that installed, and then you'll just need to connect the wire contacts. And then we have our electric heat strip, and this is going to do a great job of removing the the cold and the chill out of the air inside of your RV or camper on those cold mornings. This has a rating of 5,500 BTU per hour. And this 30-inch power cord is gonna simply plug in. Basically a plug-and-play installation. And again, this heat strip will install kind of inside of your air conditioner, and hardware is included for that simple install as well. Now this is UL and cUL-certified, and I did mention that you can get this air conditioner with a white cover instead of a black cover if that's your preference. We also have a different BTU ratings as well. So if 15,000 BTUs is too much and you're looking for something a little bit lower, we do carry this system with a 13,500 BTU-rated air conditioner as well. Well, I think that's gonna wrap up our look today. I do hope that our time together was helpful for you. Again, my name is Andy. Thank you for joining me.

Me and my wife were able to install it no problem. She read the instructions and I did the labor work! I would double check on how much you tighten the bolts down. Over all I gave it 4 stars only cuz I haven’t taken the rv out in July to test it against the heat.
The unit runs and cools nicely, but with the thermostat set at the coldest, it doesn’t get as cold as I would expect before the compressor kicks off.
Gives me an additional 4 inches lower height so I can now get the camper in my garage
