This Advent Air AC unit lets you replace an existing, old or broken air conditioner or add a new air conditioner to an area on your RV or camper that doesn't already have one. The AC has a powerful fan and motor that provides a steady stream of air to efficiently cool the inside of your RV on a hot or muggy day. For your convenience, the included air distribution box has a built-in thermostat that lets you set the fan speed and temperature. It also operates the electric heat strip, which helps keep you warm on a cold morning. The included start capacitor will help jumpstart the AC. This beneficial upgrade provides the AC a boost when shore power or generator power isn't enough to start it. And everything you need in order to replace or add an AC unit is included, which makes installation simple and easy.

Air Distribution Box and Thermostat

Advent Air Air Distribution Box

The AC unit includes an air distribution box with a built-in thermostat. The dial on the left controls the 3 fan speed settings, which let you increase or decrease the airflow. It also controls the 3 cool settings and the heat setting. The dial on the right allows you to set the temperature. Additionally, there are adjustable registers on the front and back of the box. These can be tilted up, down, or side-to-side for directing the air where needed. The removable air filter prevents dust and dirt from building up on the fan blades.

Start Capacitor

Advent Air Start Capacitor

If your campsite or generator isn't able to draw the power you need, then you may have difficulty starting your AC unit. The included start capacitor, however, can eliminate this problem. The capacitor stores energy that will later be used to jumpstart the AC. Once the sufficient amount of power has been supplied to the AC, the compressor will start to run, and the internal relay switch will turn the start capacitor off. At the same time, the compressor will send "back voltage" to the relay switch and capacitor in order to energize them for the next startup.

Electric Heat Strip

Advent Air Electric Heat Strip

The electric heat strip keeps your RV warm on a cold or frosty morning. It is operated with the control dial on the air distribution box. After you turn the dial to the OPT. HEAT setting, the compressor will shut off, and the fan will blow air over the heater and into your RV. When the optimal temperature has been reached, turn the dial to a fan or cooling setting. Please also note that the heat strip only has one temperature setting and cannot be controlled by the thermostat.

Simple Installation

Because your RV is likely already prepped and pre-wired for an AC unit, installation is simple and easy. Most AC units, including this one, are designed to fit an opening that measures 14-1/4" x 14-1/4". Depending on your roof setup, you may need to do minimal alterations. If the opening is larger than 14-3/8" x 14-3/8", you will need to install spacers between the sides of the unit and the opening's edges. If the opening is smaller than 14-1/8" x 14-1/8", you will need to enlarge the hole to fit the unit snugly inside the opening.

Advent Air AC Collapsible Gasket and Foam Pads

On the bottom of the AC, there's a thick, collapsible gasket with 6 noise-reducing foam pads. This provides support between the RV roof and AC and seals the opening to prevent water and outside air from leaking in. Because of this, the use of fresh sealant isn't required during installation.

To install the start capacitor, bolt it to the fan motor support with the included hardware and then route the wires to the run capacitor.

To install the heat strip, mount it to the evaporator inside the AC unit with the included mounting screws. The heat strip has easy, plug-and-play installation with the supplied 30" power cord. Please note that the heat strip should be installed before the air distribution box is installed.

Once installed, the hard plastic cover on the AC can easily be removed for maintenance and cleaning.

Advent Air Warranty Coverage

2-Year limited warranty covers defective units when installed correctly on approved applications. The warranty does not cover units installed incorrectly. To ensure air conditioner is installed correctly, please see the questionnaire pdf below. A filled-out questionnaire is required for warranty coverage.

If you are not comfortable using a voltmeter (or removing the charge from the start capacitor), youll want to make a service appointment with your local RV dealer to verify the installation. Print the pdfs below (warranty- questionnaire, warranty dealer information) and take them along with the RV to your local dealer. ASA does compensate dealers for warranty work as outlined in the dealer information pdf. You may be charged by the dealer for time spent investigating the installation.

Ductless AC unit lets you replace an existing AC or add a new AC to your RV. The air distribution box has a built-in thermostat, the start capacitor jumpstarts the AC when you need a boost, and the electric heat strip keeps you warm on cold mornings.

Excellent service on getting parts and also replacements of damage porch. Will be doing business with them again when needed

Cold as ice and warms well too. It has worked perfect for our horse trailer so far.

We purchased this unit last June 29th 2022 and installed it. (i am a professional AC installer). the unit ran very good until exactly 1 year later just after the warranty was out. I install mainly coleman AC units and never have a bit of problems with them. I wrote etrailer to see if they would honer the warranty (1 week out) and they would not. i recommend buying the best, "coleman" but do not buy from etrailer, you are on your own if you do.

First, I’d like to say that dealing with etrailer was an absolute joy!! Initially, the unit was out of stock, and would take 3 months until the order was able to be fulfilled. etrailer contacted me via Email to see if I’d like an alternate item that was in stock, I declined. 2 days later, the unit I ordered was shipped via UPS! Upon arrival, the unit was as described, packaging was excellent & intact, and was without broken or missing items/pieces. The AC itself, while stating “ducted & ductless”, doesn’t work very well through our existing duct system, but does function flawlessly other than that, and supplies plenty of cold air movement through the interior cover’s louvered vents (even on medium fan speed) to cool our trailer. The heating strip is fantastic, though it’s not thermostatically controlled, but rather simply on or off. Installation of the unit was straightforward after pulling the existing defunct Coleman “Mach 3”. One item of note, the interior ceiling assembly drops down 2”+, so make sure to measure any cabinet or fridge/freezer doors to ensure you have clearance for them to open, as our freezer door is only able to be opened about 1/2 way now…which is not the fault of the AC itself by any means. I’ll most definitely be working with etrailer for future RV related purchases, they’re a great outfit to work with!

shipped super fast...easy install (mechanical knowledge highly recommended)...however, the ductwork from the rooftop unit to the ceiling unit only built for 2-4 inch thick roofs.(duct is perforated to shorten if needed but in my case, i have a forest river work-n-play with a 4.5 inch thick roof. therefore i had to play tin knocker and fabricat an extension to connect the ducts.
otherwise, installation was as i expected. heat strip and start capacitor installed with ease and very well illustrated instructions.
people complain of the heat strip not heating their unit. it wasn't designed to heat the unit, just take the chill out or supplement the furnace which then works nicely to heat the cabin quickly.
i have yet to put it to the test this summer (2023) at the racetrack for about 4 days each month between april and october...

Product quit working within the 1st year of installation and only used it for about 15 days during that 1yr time

Not working good

Could Be better. I insulated my trailer and the AC does a ok job. It would be nice if it had a thermostat. It runs 24-7 when you have it on. The heating element attachment is not that great. Get a more expensive one if you are looking for a product that will have better cooling and a better heat strip for warming.

I have a 24’ enclosed trailer that we haul atv’s and my Jeep in, we where using one of those portable ac units. It just wasn’t doing the job during the day if the kids needed a nap. I bought this roof top ac and it does really well. The only insulation I have is 1” foam board on the ceiling. Install was straight forward.

Outstanding Customer Service and Support

Works well. Very happy with this product. Would definitely purchase again.

Product arrived with what appears to be everything needed for install. Happy with everything other than the crack in the AC unit housing. Not to worried about it due to it not affecting the product but still irritating that for nearly a $XXXX it showed up damaged.

I will have our Customer Service team reach out to you.

This is a review not of the performance of the AC unit, but of the excellent customer service. My unit arrived damaged via UPS, I notified etrailer, and I had a new one two days later, before I had a chance to ship back the original one. I have been purchasing exclusively through etrailer for the restoration of my RV, and they are the best of the best.

Incredibly fast shipping, all packaging was intact with no damage. Items were easy to install. Biggest chore was lifting it on to the roof of the camper. Every time I've used E-trailer they have provided exceptional products and fast shipping. Great company

Fast delivery box was in good shape not beat up

It was great except I wish the fan had an auto shutoff

All Good Sir!
[Thumbs up]

  • Can I Run Two 15,000 BTU Air Conditioners On A 30 Amp Service?
Trailers with 30 amp service will have enough capacity to handle one AC unit along with the other appliances/electronics in their trailer. You would not realistically be able to run two 15K BTU air conditioners #ACM150BCH on a 30 amp service. Generally only campers with 50 amp service can run two air conditioners. I have heard of some RV AC manufacturers stating that you can run two units on a 30 amp service, but we have yet to see it done successfully.
