Today, we're going to be taking a look at the Valterra electric cable hatch for RVs. This one is for use with RV electrical cables up to 50 amps. It does come with the included installation putty tape and the necessary mounting hardware. The screw heads are painted are actually painted to match the color of the hatch, so it gives it a nice, clean finished look. The hatch door is going to swing open for easy access. Then the unit also has a sliding door that allows the cable to pass through when the main hatch door is closed.
With that closed, it's going to help keep unwanted items out of the stored area when the cable isn't being used. When it comes to the overall dimensions, taking a look at the overall diameter, that's going to give us a measurement of about 5 1/8 of an inch. When it comes to the overall depth, very back to very front, that's going to give us a measurement of about 2 5/8 of an inch deep. It does require a cut out for this area to fit into. Your cut out is going to need a minimum diameter measurement of about 3 1/2 inches, in order for this to fit. The unit is white in color. It's going to contain three mount holes.
Our mount hole separation, center on center, is going to be about 3 7/8 of an inch apart. That's going to be the same separation between each hole. This hole right here, that's going to measure about 1 inch by 1 inch, so plenty of room right there to feed the cable through. The large hole, this is going to give us a diameter, here at the opening of about 3 1/4 inches. It's going to give us a depth of pretty close to 2 3/8 of an inch.
