Today were going to review part number UF48-979009. This is the UltraFab Universal Access Store for trailers and RVs. This locking steel access door is perfect for any small cargo area on your trailer RV that needs to be both secure and easy to get to. This access door mounts to your trailer RV anywhere a door is needed. Its perfect for small cargo holds. It is of steel construction which is strong and durable.
It has the integrated lock which will provide security. It is a simple installation. The mounting holes are pre-drilled into the doors frame. It does have a very nice bright white finish which will match any application. It does include the two keys for the lock.
Right now it is locked, so if you put the key in, turn-it a quarter of a turn. That will unlock it. Then to lock it if you just close it, turn it a quarter of a turn and itll be locked. This is for use on RVs, trucks, cargo haulers, trailers, and special vehicles of all types. The overall dimension is going to be 8 inches, the height on is going to be 7 inches.
It does come with a one year warranty and I do want to give you the opening size. The opening dimension is basically 5 inches by 5 inches. That should do it for part number UF48-979009.

Doors are one year old and all rusty leaving streaks down the side of our trailer.
Fantastic---My order arrived in just a few days and it was even better than I expected.
I like to keep the bed made in our trailer and it was difficult getting items out from the storage under the bed. Now I can just reach through the outside access door and retrieve the items I need. (See both photos).
Installation took about an hour and a half.

This is a great little door. I used it to hide my outside shower valve. Its very sturdy. It's held up to 50-60 mph on rough dirt roads, washboard roads, and I've had no issues. I would highly recommend this product.
I bought this to put over a small hole and scuff mark on my trailer caused by an accident rather than replace the skin. Arrived very quickly. Works perfect, looks great, and MUCH cheaper/easier than replacing a skin!

Still working perfectly!
I bought this a while back and finally got around to installing it. I am using it as an access door to plug in the 120V wiring I have put inside my 24' enclosed car hauler trailer. The door is well built, paint or powder coating, not sure what it is but it looks great and seems to be very durable. Lock works nice and the door doesn't rattle. Overall I really like it!!
The first door received was mis-aligned in the frame. etrailer sent a different door within a few days; It was much better. etrailer's customer service is "Excellent".

Product is great,,,if I could I would have preferred one that is two inches bigger all around..
Looks great after install.
The lock works well. The build quality is good but the design is very basic. The door wasn't fulled sealed when locked so I had to add a thin rubber gasket around the door. I used plumbers putty around the inside frame to help seal the door and used metal roof screws with rubber gaskets and washers to secure it to the fiberglass exterior. I used clear silicon to seal the door frame.
This works as well as I had hoped. I mounted this over the fuel fill so the cover swings down out of the way. The fuel nozzle has good clearance when fueling. It would not take much to pry it open, but it gives good piece of mind that someone can't just come along, unscrew the fuel cap and mess with things.
The Ultra-Fab Universal Access Door was as advertised. I was looking for a small metal door. Most doors I found were plastic. I plan on using the door for an emergency access door for the interior fiberglass engine cover on my 36 Ft. Winniebago Vectra Class A with gas engine. If I were to have a engine fire I would the ability to quickly direct Halon fire suppression equipment from both above and then outside below the engine compartment. This compartment has temperature gauge with a fire alarm. I will e-mail photos of the installation and finished product.

Pretty good little door for what I want. I will have to do a little weatherstripping to make the door water tight, but for the price, it's good. Another company wanted $69 for basically the same door and it didn't lock. I am putting an auxillary fuel tank in pickup with a topper, and this door will be in the front-side of the topper for access to the filler neck of the tank.
This product one of the best in the business. 'It's construction being of metal an not plastic as others will last for the life of its use I'm using it as a locking gas door for my motorhome. I have purchased this before form this supplier and had great results. This supplier is very knowledgeable end gives great service along with fast shipping
I only gave this a por/good rating because of the hinge. The hinge is so sloppy that the door sags down and while I was installing it the hing pin kept falling out. I had to use a center punch to try and pinch the hinge to keep the pin in. The stamping is really nice and heavy, they just missed on the hinge.
The service at etrailer was perfect.
This saved me big time! We had a truck with a work bed that did not have a traditional fuel cap. The customer wanted something to protect the fuel fill area, and this door seemed made for the application. I had to modify one corner to make the fit, but it was perfect to cover the opening.
Excellent product. Perfect fit, looks great, easy to install, arrived on schedule.
Have not used item yet so hard to review. Overall I am highly satisfied with every thing I order from etrailer. com. Products are price competitive and normally arrive as scheduled.
Well made, removed keyed lock and added quarter-turn latch since it provides access to water shut off.
I was very satisfied with the hatch door. Solid construction. Very easy install. Came with Two keys for the lock. I should not have to replace that hatch again.
Very basic product, pretty heavy surprisingly. I bought it to screw to my outside wall of my workshop so I could run the shore power inside for a race trailer parked outside.
Products appear to be great quality, although the name of the product and by Phoenix USA is definitely misleading when the products are made in China. As always, fast shipping and great service from E-trailer.
This is just what I needed. This door is well made and has a great coat of paint. I am using it for a fuel door instead of opening the whole compartment door on the motorhome I can just open this door.

I would say that we do not hear of it rusting within a year that often. What I would recommend is taking a bit of sand paper and gently remove the rust, then repaint the areas with a rust resistant paint for the future. We also have a good FAQ on rust prevention that if a good reference FAQ.
