How to Properly Measure for Cut-Out Dimension
There are two main dimensions you need to know when choosing a replacement access door or adding a new one to your RV:
The cut-out diameter is the width of the circle needed to ensure the access door mounts flush to the wall of your RV.
The mounting depth is the depth needed behind the mounting surface for the access door's hatch to properly fit.

Today, we're going to take a look at the JR Products 4-inch access hatch for RVs. Now, this part will replace the access hatch on your RV. The mounting hole pattern of this will match most original hatch rings, and this will provide access to your plumbing, electrical, cargo areas, and even hose compartments. You can see that you can just unscrew the center portion. Once that unscrews all the way, you can pop it right out, and that'll let you to gain access. Has a nice waterproof seal around it, so when you do put the center back in and tighten it down, it'll seal it.
It is UV and impact resistant. You can see it's a nice black color.Few specs on this we're going to give you, the overall dimension, including the flange lip is going to be, edge to edge, right at 5 11/16 inches. The mounting hole dimensions, if we go center to center, right at 5 1/8 inches. The cutout diameter, which is going to be this portion right here that you'll cut a hole into your RV or wherever you're installing this, that dimension for the cutout is going to be right at 4 7/16 inches. And then of course, when we take off the center, the hatch opening diameter is going to be right at 4 inches.
