Hi there, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today, we're going to take a quick look at the JR Products Propane Hose. Like most your propane hoses, this is designed to allow your LP gas to flow through so you can power up those propane-powered appliances. Now when you're looking for a propane hose there are a few things I would recommend focusing in on to make sure that it's going to work for your setup. The first thing is going to be the length. Obviously you want it to be able to reach from point A to point B.

This hose is five feet long, so as long as your point A and point B are less than five feet apart, you should be okay there. This hose is a rubber hose, that rubber construction is going to help it be resistant to kinks and cracking. So it should hold up well for you. It's got an inner diameter of 3/8 of an inch. So that's going to be plenty of room for that LP gas to flow through so you can power up those appliances. The next thing I recommend looking into are your fittings.

There are several different kinds of fittings available for propane accessories. We've got two of the same fitting here. You just want to make sure that whatever fitting you need is the one that you're getting. So these two are 3/8 inch female swivel, SAE fittings. So let me break that down a little bit, 3/8 inch is the diameter of your opening.

The SAE refers to the type of threading on the inside. Obviously the female means it's going to receive the male end.But there's several different kinds of SAE fittings. If you look on the inside there, you can see it's going to kind of taper down as you get closer to the center that is called a flare, so this is an SAE flare fitting. You want to make sure that you have a male flare fitting so that these two will match up together. What that does basically that's the part that comes in contact with the male portion as you tighten this down, so that there's a tight connection.

You're not going to have any leaks or anything like that. The swivel portion just means that this end twists like that. So you're not going to have to crank on the hose itself to get it tightened down. So both ends will be very easy to get installed wherever you are installing them. This hose is UL as well as CSA approved, so it's going to hold up well, it's going to meet those quality standards. You can trust it's going to do the job you need it to do. Now, like I said, you want to make sure that the hose is going to work for your needs, so if you don't have the male SAE fittings, or maybe you need more than five feet, I'd encourage you to come take a look at our other options here at etrailer.com. We've got lots of different hoses with different fittings. We want to make sure that you get the hose that you need to solve your problems so you can get back to enjoying your time outdoors. That's going to complete our look at the JR Products Propane Hose.

Etrailer has the best customer service of any online retailer and that's why I always come back to them for all my trailer part needs. They are quick to check on my order and suggest alternates and always deliver faster than expected. Keep up the good work!

Smelling propane outside of our Flagstaff travel trailer. Located leaking rubber hoses under the kitchen slideout. The manufacturer and local dealer had no clue about getting a replacement. Luckily the hose had OEM tags still on them. Several phone calls later and a cross reference number to etrailer and we were good to go. Items in stock and fast shipping at a reasonable price. Less than one hour to complete repairs. etrailer is my first call for mobile repair parts!

Product is great, solved problem, just a little disapointed that it was backordered when I needed it. But otherwise, as presented, and if it was'nt available when I needed it, not etrailer's fault, just fate.

First and foremost this hose was the length I needed and had the correct fittings to replace on in my RV. It needs to make a couple tight bends and rubber hoses are much better at this than the cheaper thermo-plastic gas hoses. I received it in 4 days with economy shipping. This hose is a quality hose and was just what I was looking for

I needed to replace the gas line in my travel trailer which feeds the stove. Replacing it wasn't easy so I really wanted an OEM quality hose that will hopefully last and will have sufficient flow for the stove. This appears to be high quality and hopefully it will last longer than the last one!

Application is propane supply from regulator to underbelly hard piping on a 2005 Jayco Eagle 28ft travel trailer that we bought new.

This hose is a replacement for one that got chewed in a couple places by something with sharp teeth.

eTrailer was the only place I could find the length that I needed with the fittings required to match up to existing connections. I had to wait a few days for eTrailer to get this hose from their supplier. Well worth it! It is fresh, pliable, and has that "new hose smell". You don't want rubber products that have been languishing on the shelf. They age whether or not they're installed. Like tires!

To dissuade the varmints from getting their teeth on this one, I sleeved the entire length in black nylon 3/4" flex conduit. If you want to do something like this, any product that fits will work. I used Heyco part number 8480 that I had as scrap from a job. That will give you an idea of what to look for.

About four years ago, I replaced all the original rubber propane lines. They were pretty stiff. If yours are ten years old or more, or you don't know how old they are, replace them all and make note of the date. That will give you peace of mind and help you or the next owner make a future informed maintenance decision.
