Video Transcript for Review of Duracell Tire Inflation and Repair - PowerPack Pro 1300 Jump Start - DU47FR

Hey everybody. I'm Ellen here, at etrailer.com. And we're taking a quick look at the Duracell Power Pack. This is a really handy thing to keep in your vehicle. You can use this for emergencies, obviously. Just in case you have a dead battery and you need to jump. You can do this with just this pack.

You don't have to rely on anybody to come out and rescue you, or find somebody who has jumper cables in the parking lot. You'll be able to jump yourself from this. You can also inflate your tires. So if your tire happens to get low or you just want to make sure that you have each of those tires topped off before you go on a long trip, it also has a built-in tire inflator there. But it also can be used for anything like tailgating.

Maybe you want to be able to have a flat screen in the back of your vehicle, so you can actually watch the game. Or run a speaker, so you can hang out at a park and have some music. This can be used as that power pack.So it gives you a lot of options for all kinds of stuff. It's a good thing to keep in your vehicle or your truck, just for those instances where you want to have some power. You want to be able to use those emergency functions as well.

It gives you a lot of bang for your buck. It's pretty easy to use. We actually have one of these in the shop. So we use it all the time. It's very reliable.

It's really easy to use. It's pretty compact, weighs about 20 pounds. So it's not the lightest thing in the world, but it's pretty easy. I mean, I'm trying to lift it up at chest height, which is kind of hard. But as far as something like this goes, especially having a compressor in there to give you that air pressure. It's pretty portable. So let's jump in and take a little closer look at each of those functions and talk a little bit about how they're going to work. So the main thing is going to be our battery start. So we have our two clamps, they are color-coded. So it makes it pretty easy to remember what goes where. Black always goes to negative, red always goes to positive. It's also printed on there, a little plus and minus, so you can see where that's going. These come out and give you a fairly good amount of length. I think you'd get about two feet from the unit to the end of those clamps overall. So you'll attach those to your battery, positive first and then negative. And then you'll turn it on. There's a little switch here. So you just put that into the on position, let it charge up, do its thing, and then you should be able to start your vehicle and go about your business. Also included on here is a little light. So if you're trying to get a jump in the dark, you can use this to help see where you're looking at. This can also rotate around. Or, I always think that this rotates around, but it just moves up and down. So it just gives you a little angling option there. And to turn that on, it's just that red button that is labeled. Turn my studio lights off so you can see how bright that is. So, not anything that you're going to be able to use as a industrial work light, but enough to give you a heads up or at least enough light to get you those clamps put in place. As far as the air compressor, our hose is tucked away in the back here. So it just wraps around. I'm going to pull it towards myself, so I can unwrap that. I'm not going to go all the way, but you do get a pretty good amount of length. I think it's about three, maybe four feet of length for this. And then any of the accessories that go along with it. Right now, it has that standard chuck for putting on a stem on a wheel. So you can use this for bike tires or your truck tires or vehicle tires. But inside here. This is one part of it that I don't like, this little door. It's hard for me to open, just because it's tucked underneath the handle. Pull this open. It's just a little catch. So I got a little tool here. I'm going to open that up with. If I can.Like I said, it's the one thing I don't really like about this. I have also just like weirdly we hands. So this is my albatross, is trying to get stuff like this open. Also as you use it and break it in, it should be easier to get in there. But you see what I mean, you just can't really get your fingers to curl back around. So it's just kind of tricky to get at the right angle. There we go. Okay. Sorry, that took so long.So inside we'll have our accessories, we've got a little needle, so you can air up a basketball, football, anything like that. And then some other accessories for maybe a floaty or something along those lines. So you can use any of those with the end of our air hose. Also in this compartment is the cord to charge the unit itself. So after you use it, especially if you're using the air compressor, because that takes a lot of battery. You'll want to charge this up. Should take a couple hours. I usually plug it in overnight just to make sure that it's ready for the next day. It doesn't affect it, if you want to leave it plugged in. It shouldn't overcharge or anything like that. So you can do that. They also suggest that you charge it every three months just to keep it all topped off.So I'm going to turn on the compressors. You can hear how loud that is. It's probably going to be pretty loud, so fair warning. So I was pressing on that hose to build up some pressure. So you could see that gauge moving. So, that allows you to see how much pressure you're building up. This goes all the way up to 100 psi, as far as what it can really handle. The gauge goes up to 160, but the safe range to use this up to 100 psi. That should be more than enough to inflate any tires. On my little Volkswagen Beetle, I usually inflate mine to about 33 pounds per square-inch. So most vehicles out there will be somewhere in that 30 to 40 range. So 100 psi should be more than enough to get you where you need to go.We also have a couple of power ports here, so you've got a 12 volt round, similar to that cigarette-lighter style in most vehicles, been around forever. Then you also get two USB ports and these do have to be turned on with the button here. So there's a little USB on, turn that guy on and it'll power those up. That's kind of nice. So you know that you're not going to be wasting that battery by those being live all the time. You can turn that on and off. This is live all the time. So, that is just always ready. It's just the nature of those. And then there's also your AC connection, which is going to be these two ports here. So if you want to plug something in that has an AC plug or a house-style plug, you can also turn those on and off. So you got two options there. So again, if you want to plug in a TV and maybe a console or something like that, that should be well within the range that this can handle. The running, or rated power for this is a 480 Watts. So you just want to check whatever you're trying to run off of this to make sure that it's under that. It does have a surge power output of 750. So you just have to see what's under there. And also remember that anything that you're using, it's going to be the combined wattage. So for instance, if you're using a 36-inch TV, that's typically about 133 Watts. And then if you're plugging in something like a game console, that's about 90 Watts. So, that puts you up to about 220, still should be within the range of what this can handle. My little tire inflator came out of its spot here. So I'm just tucking that back in.But you always want to remember to check those little ports. Turn those off whenever you're not using them. So you don't waste the battery. And then there's also a third button here to let you check where that battery status is. So it gives you four lights up here. And if you see all four, if it goes all the way to green, it's 100%. If you have only three, 75, 50, and so on.All in all, a really nice accessory to have in your vehicle at all times. Just makes for a very nice safety device and then gives you those other perks to make life a little bit more fun.So I hope this has been helpful in deciding if this is the right choice for you. We do have some other options available here at etrailer.com, with different accessories and different packages and different power outputs. So you can get the one that meets your needs best.I hope this video again has helped in deciding which one is right for you. I'm Ellen with the etrailer.com.Thanks for watching.
